Summary

  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.1 overs

    Aliya c Deepti b Goud 2 (Pak 26-3)

Catching practice for Deepti Sharma at second slip.

Kranti Goud deserves another wicket but that is a real gift from Aliya Riaz, playing at a ball wide of off and just guiding it into the slip cordon.

It was genuinely like a shot a coach plays to give the slips catching practice in the warm-up. Very poor.

The fact that it is Sidra Ameen probably played a role in that review. A poor one and now India have none left - not a great place to be.

  3. Not outpublished at 11 overs

    Pak 26-2 | Target 248

Not out. As expected, the ball came off the pad.

India's poor reviewing continues. They've taken two that they really shouldn't to lose both reviews and not taken a couple on lbw shouts that would have been out.

The way that looped and carried low makes you think it would have been a pad rather than the bat.

  5. India reviewpublished at 11 overs

    Pak 26-2 | Target 248

Harmanpreet Kaur is keeping her opening bowlers going for now so it's a sixth over on the spin for Renuka Singh.

Why not, while the ball is still swinging?

Just a wide from the over but India appeal for a catch behind down the leg side. Don't send that upstairs... oh, they have.

I'd be stunned if this was out. Looked to quite clearly come off the pad.

Two from Kranti Goud's over and that's the end of the powerplay.

India in complete control. They've taken two wickets, albeit Pakistan would argue one of them shouldn't have been given, and had they been better with their reviews, might've had a couple more.

It is hard to see where Pakistan are going to get these runs from. The batters need to use their feet to throw the bowlers off their lines.

At the moment, Pakistan are letting themselves be bowled at.

  8. Pak 23-2published at 9 overs

    Target 248

Even having been given chances courtesy of dropped catches and India failing to take reviews that would have brought wickets, Pakistan are slipping further and further behind the required rate.

It is still very achievable at this stage but something needs to change quite soon.

  9. dropped catch

Amin dropped on 9published at 8.4 overs

    Pak 23-2

Sidra Amin is dropped for the second time by Richa Ghosh - that was regulation!

Renuka Singh gets a hint of movement away from the right-hander outside off and Amin plays a nothing shot, hanging the bat out there and edges behind.

Ghosh gets two hands to it but grasses it. She's furious with herself, too. She'd expect to take those in her sleep.

Pakistan are now stuck in that horrible dilemma of needing to kick on while also preserving wickets.

Kranti Goud comes with a lot of clarity and confidence. She is very calm and composed which you don't often find with seamers.

Kranti Goud is skidding the ball nicely and getting some seam movement. You can feel that it is an uphill struggle for Pakistan here.

  13. Pak 21-2published at 8 overs

    Target 248

Aliya Riaz joins Sidra Amin in the middle for Pakistan but there is just a solitary leg bye from the over, plus the wicket of Sadaf Shamas.

Excellent start from Kranti Goud. The 22-year-old is a real talent.

A really well deserved wicket for Kranti Goud. Sadaf Shamas never really looked comfortable at all.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.3 overs

    Shamas c & b Goud 6 (Pak 20-2)

    The simplest of return catches.

Sadaf Shamas tries to whip the ball to leg but gets a leading edge that goes straight back to Kranti Goud.

No arguing with that one. India are well on top now.

So based on that I think it might be law 30.1.2 that is relevant but because Muneeba Ali was neither diving or running, does that mean she can still be out?

  17. MCC lawspublished at 15:39 BST 5 October 2025

30.1 When out of his/her ground

30.1.1 A batter shall be considered to be out of his/her ground unless some part of his/her person or bat is grounded behind the popping crease at that end.

30.1.2 However, a batter shall not be considered to be out of his/her ground if, in running or diving towards his/her ground and beyond, and having grounded some part of his/her person or bat beyond the popping crease, there is subsequent loss of contact between the ground and any part of his/her person or bat, or between the bat and person.

You can sense a little bit of pressure on Pakistan - there have been a few risky singles already.

  20. Pak 20-1published at 7 overs

    Target 248

Nearly another - far less controversial run out - as Sadaf Shamas drives firmly to mid-off and calls for a single.

Another shy at the stumps and this one just misses its mark. A direct hit and Shamas was gone by a good six inches.
