  1. MIDDLESEX BEAT LANCASHIRE BY SIX WICKETSpublished at 14:42 BST 10 May
    Breaking

    Lancs 201 & 84 v Middlesex 169 & 117-4

Ben Geddes seals victory for Middlesex as he lifts a slower ball from Tom Bailey for six, then pats the next ball for a single to finish unbeaten on 73.

That's his highest score this season - and also the highest in this match, which gives you an idea of how difficult batting was for most of it.

A gripping, see-saw encounter - but it's Middlesex who come out on top after bowling Lancashire out for 84 in their second innings this morning.

  2. 50 runs

50 partnership for Atkinson and Clarkpublished at 14:40 BST 10 May

    Notts 415 v Surrey 356-6

Gus Atkinson smashes Liam Patterson-White back down the ground for a boundary that raises the 50 partnership with Jordan Clark for this seventh wicket.

Atkinson has 26 to his partner's 23 and Surrey are now only 59 in arrears.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Ben Brownpublished at 14:40 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 v Hants 235 & 197-7 (lead by 159 runs)

Ben Brown looks key to Hants setting a decent target here at Chelmsford and a single off Simon Harmer brings up his half century in 74 balls.

Seven fours were contained within and it continues a decent run of form for the skipper who has posted scores of 103, 66, 96 and now 50 (all in the second innings) in his last four matches.

  4. Postpublished at 14:35 BST 10 May

    Lancs v Middlesex 105-4 (target 117)

Middlesex are inching closer as Lancashire rotate their seamers relentlessly - and they know something will need to happen very quickly for them.

Just 12 more needed for the visitors to record their first County Championship win at Old Trafford in 30 years.

  5. Raine takes his 50th wicket v Worcestershirepublished at 14:35 BST 10 May

    Worcestershire 56-3 lead by 96

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ben Raine has just taken his 30th wicket of the season. It's also his 50th against Worcestershire in FC cricket. They must be sick of the sight of him.

39 have been for Durham and 11 for Leicestershire. The latest saw Dan Lategan cut to the gully on 20. He was caught by David Bedingham.

The Pears have also just lost Kashif Ali for one. He got a leading edge off a Kasey Alridge delivery and the ball looped straight to Raine at mid-off. He didn't have to move.

It was Aldridge's second wicket of the session after he bowled Jake Libby for 28 and couple of overs earlier. The ball stayed really low and hit the bottom of off. Worcestershire have lost 3-3 in 3.2 overs.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:35 BST 10 May

Fuller lbw b Mulder 18 (Hants 196-7, lead by 158 runs)

Maybe kept a little low but James Fuller was through his shot early and there was little doubt about whether it was hitting.

Up goes the finger and Wiaan Mulder has his first wicket.

Hants are not in bad shape here leading by 158 but still need a few more and captain Ben Brown looks key.

  7. 100 runs

100 for Calvin Harrisonpublished at 14:34 BST 10 May

    Derbyshire 604-7 dec v Northants 214-6

A shining light of hope after a difficult couple of days in Derby for Northamptonshire, as Calvin Harrison gets to a century off 258 balls, thanks to 11 fours and one six.

The hosts still lead by 390, but Harrison's efforts could yet salvage a least a batting bonus point for his county.

Get Involvedpublished at 14:32 BST 10 May

Whilst I agree Lawrence was treated poorly, it's the issue for many middle order players at the moment, there is no vacancy. Not going to drop Bethell, Root, Brook or Stokes.

    Ed, London

Lancashire’s batting resources looking thin. Can they not find a frontline batsmen to open and give Balderson a break after his bowling stint. Also, I’m assuming they’ve brought Chris Green in early as spinners not really performed so far.

    Terry, Wirrall

Watching Mitch Stanley, seems to have all the attributes - young, quick, wicket to wicket and solid action.

    Glen, Leeds

  9. Essex in pursuit of wickets at Chelmsfordpublished at 14:31 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 ao v Hants 235 & 196-6, Hants lead by 158

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

Essex won't want the Hampshire tail to wag at Chelmsford, as Ben Brown and James Fuller begin to settle at the crease, offering some middle-order resistance.

A few quick wickets could lead to Essex requiring less than 200 runs in the fourth innings to win, but with the side generally struggling for runs this season, the task is perhaps more difficult than it seems on paper for the home side.

Essex' top run scorer in 2026 is Simon Harmer, who batted nine in the first innings, and is 29th highest run scorer in Division One.

  10. Postpublished at 14:27 BST 10 May

    Lancs v Middlesex 95-4 (target 117)

    James AndersonImage source, Shutterstock

It feels as though Jimmy Anderson is playing his trump card now... namely himself.

The Lancashire captain comes on for a second spell, trying to produce a piece of magic to tilt this contest back in his side's favour.

Ben Geddes clips Anderson to the midwicket fence and the target drops to 22 more needed.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Rishi Patelpublished at 14:27 BST 10 May

Rishi Patel on his way to a half century in Leics second innings

Rishi Patel pings Finn Hudson-Prentice off his legs almost all the way to the rope and trots through for a comfortable three to reach his half century.

It has taken 72 balls, 97 minutes with five fours and a six and has been pleasant to watch with some well-measured aggression and clean strokeplay.

  12. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 10 May

    Glamorgan 229 v Somerset 354 & 157

Asa Tribe and Zain ul Hassan come out to try and get Glamorgan on their way to 283.

Captain Lewis Gregory to open the bowling attack for Somerset.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Ben Geddespublished at 14:20 BST 10 May

    Lancs v Middlesex 86-4 (target 117)

Middlesex batter Ben GeddesImage source, Shutterstock

Vital knock by Ben Geddes, who goes to his half-century by turning George Balderson for a single on the leg side.

Geddes gets to 50 from just 47 balls - and he's brought his side within 31 runs of victory now.

  14. Tom more than cape-abellpublished at 14:18 BST 10 May

    Glamorgan 229 v Somerset 354 & 157

A potentially match-winning knock from Tom Abell comes to an end on 71, but another great effort after his 86 in the first innings for Somerset in Cardiff.

The 32-year-old is having a fine start to his summer, already hitting two centuries, and 3 half-centuries in five matches, with an average of 82.

After Mr Norton's heroics with the ball last night for Glamorgan, a good couple of days for the Toms at Sophia Gardens!

  15. Postpublished at 14:14 BST 10 May

    Lancs v Middlesex 79-4 (target 117)

George Balderson played a key role with the ball to wrap up Middlesex's first innings and the medium-pacer is causing them problems again.

Ben Geddes plays and misses a couple of times, but then lifts the pressure by punching him through the covers for two.

Every run precious in this situation - and Middlesex need 38 of them.

  16. SOMERSET ALL OUT - GLAMORGAN NEED 283 TO WINpublished at 14:13 BST 10 May

    Glamorgan 229 v Somerset 354 & 157

Two balls after lunch and we're back in the pavilion, as Ryan Hadley gets the precious prize of Tom Abell.

  17. Postpublished at 14:12 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 & 76-3

Rishi Patel looks the key wicket for Sussex to aim at and the opener is looking quite fluent as he moves towards his half century.

He has certainly been in good nick so far this season and has it within his locker to go big on occasion.

Patel posted 164 against Surrey then half centuries in consecutive matches against Glam and Notts and now 43 not out here.

  18. 400 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:08 BST 10 May

    Warwickshire 147 & 410-5 v Yorkshire 152

Sam Hain is on 94 not out as the Bears move 405 runs in front of Yorkshire at Edgbaston.

Chalk and cheese from the home side's first innings in which they struggled to 147 not out - it would have been a lot less had Bamber and Hannon-Dalby not added a good partnership for the last wicket.

Hain scored 57 in the first innings which was his sides top score.

  19. Postpublished at 14:04 BST 10 May

    Lancs v Middlesex 68-4 (target 117)

Middlesex have brought the target below 50 now - but that still feels like quite a few in this absorbing contest.

Ben Geddes is leading the way for the visitors on 34, but you feel they will still need one substantial partnership to get them over the line.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 14:03 BST 10 May

    #bbccricket

Worcestershire are slowly building their lead against Durham at New Road, and are 35 without loss at present, meaning an overall advantage of 75.

Ben Stokes has bowled five overs so far, and is 0-25 with one maiden.

Calvin Harrison continues to keep out Derbyshire, moving to 80 not out, though the hosts still lead by some 420-odd runs in Derby, with Northants six wickets down.

Ollie Price has joined Ben Charlesworth as an early casualty of Gloucestershire's second innings against Kent in Bristol. The hosts are 65-2, a lead of 63.
