    Worcs v Durham 21-1 (target 143)

A sweet straight drive by Ben McKinney brings him four runs off Tom Taylor and helps to ease Durham nerves as they chase this target of 143.

McKinney is on 12, with Emilio Gay on five at the other end.

    Worrall lbw b Patterson-White 20 (Notts 415 v Surrey 433-9)

Dan Worrall's brief assault on the Nottinghamshire bowling comes to an end as he tries to slog sweep Liam Patterson-White and is out leg before.

Reece Topley - yes, that's right - is the last man in for Surrey, who lead by 18.

  3. Ouch!published at 16:35 BST 10 May

    Essex 35-2 Target: 177

Charlie Allison gets a wicked delivery from Kyle Abbott which rears of a good length and hits him in the ribcage.

That levelled him with the batsman falling to the turf and clearly hurt as he points accusingly to the spot on the wicket that produced it.

Hants put in a short leg in response.

  4. 6 runs

Dan Worrall goes on the offensivepublished at 16:33 BST 10 May

    Surrey 433-8 v Notts 415, Surrey lead by 16

Dan Worrall has decided to get the long handle out to begin the evening session. He is 20 not out off 16 deliveries

He hauls Liam Patterson-White over mid-wicket for six, before attempting to reverse sweep, connecting but hitting straight to the short-third fielder.

He might as well give it a go here, as Ollie Pope looks to be in considerable pain in his thumb as he bats.

  5. ouch!

Postpublished at 16:32 BST 10 May

    Notts 415 v Surrey 431-8

Ollie Pope's been in the wars since he belatedly came out to bat - he was struck on the hand by a rising ball from Olly Stone before tea and now he's received the same treatment from Lyndon James.

Pope winces as he takes his glove off and hopefully a bit of the medical man's magic spray will do the trick.

  6. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 16:31 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 & 145-4 (lead by 43 runs)

    Extra cuppa anyone?

Rain is keeping the players from returning after tea with a light sheet over the wicket.

  7. Postpublished at 16:27 BST 10 May

    Elgar b Abbott 8 (Essex 31-2 Target: 177)

What on earth was Dean Elgar thinking here?

That it would miss off stump is the easy answer and that it wouldn't jag back so violently the slightly more nuanced verdict.

Whatever, he has lost his off stump and a bit of middle as well.

Horrible misjudgement and he stands, stares, then plays the shot he should have done before departing.

  8. Ethan Bamber on the board!published at 16:27 BST 10 May

    Warwickshire 147 & 553-6 dec v Yorkshire 152 & 3-1

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

As we have seen so often this season, Ethan Bamber strikes early. Bean is struck on the pad off a full and straight delivery and is given LBW.

The dream start for the Bears, who will want to take a few wickets before the close of play.

Bamber has a knack of taking top-order wickets so consistently. I think that this season, he has done everything he can to be at least in and around conversations for England selection.

  9. Surrey into the leadpublished at 16:25 BST 10 May

    Notts 415 v Surrey 421-8

Dan Worrall's come out with attacking intent after the tea interval, banging the first ball of the session from Lyndon James straight down the ground and then picking up two to take Surrey in front of their hosts.

Ollie Pope follows up with a boundary as well and the visitors will want to extend this advantage to something more substantial and try to apply some pressure when Nottinghamshire bat again.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:23 BST 10 May

    Bean lbw Bamber 1 (Warwicks 147 & 553-6 dec v Yorkshire 152 & 3-1)

Not the start Yorkshire had hoped for...

Fin Bean is given out lbw off the bowling of Ethan Bamber and the mountain to climb has just got a little steeper.

  11. Postpublished at 16:21 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 & 141-4

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

A resolute defiant effort for Leicestershire since lunch, losing just wicket in difficult overcast conditions with the floodlights on

Rishi Patel initially led the resistance with a half-century, but since his dismissal Jonny Tattersall who reached his half-century on the stroke of tea off 108 balls, and Steve Eskinazi have continued to frustrate the Sussex bowlers.

Sussex are still in a strong position with Leicestershire effectively 43-4 but with gloom all around Hove there is every possibility that the full 96 overs may not be possible today

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:17 BST 10 May

    Lees lbw b Taylor 4 (Worcs v Durham 4-1 - target 143)

    Just the start Worcestershire needed!

Fourth ball of Durham's chase and Alex Lees walks across one from Tom Taylor, up goes the umpire's finger and the first wicket has fallen.

Mind you, Durham do have the in-form Emilio Gay walking out to replace the captain.

  13. Warwickshire look to make early breakthroughspublished at 16:16 BST 10 May

Yorkshire need 549 runs to win, Warwickshire need ten wickets

    Grace Ballinger
The Blaze and Manchester Super Giants seamer

Ethan Bamber begins his first bit of work of the day to kick off the evening session.

Bowling round the wicket to left-handed Adam Lyth, Bamber looks to attack the channel, with keeper and four slips awaiting an edge.

Lyth was dismissed cheaply for just two runs with an edge to Alex Davies in the first innings off Ollie Hannon-Dalby. He will want to bat for a long time for his side today, and well into tomorrow.

WICKETpublished at 16:15 BST 10 May

    Ul Hassan c Gregory b Overton 35 (Glamorgan 81-1 v Somerset, target 283)

A fine start to the final session for the visitors, and the Glamorgan opening partnership is broken!

Zain Ul Hassan can't adjust himself quick enough and Craig Overton's delivery is clipped through to visiting captain Lewis Gregory.

Home captain Kiran Carlson is the man next up in the middle. This one still up for grabs.

  15. Tea at Hovepublished at 16:12 BST 10 May

Leics 145-4 lead by 43 runs

Despite dropping yet another in this match – Jonathan Tattersall spilled on 45 to go with six missed chances in the first innings – Sussex remain in pole position.

The lead is just 43 for Leics and they are four down already.

Wickets have been shared between the bowlers and there have been two half centuries in the Foxes second innings with Rishi Patel and now Tattersall raising their bats.

Back in 20 to see how far Leics can extend this target.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Jonathan Tattersallpublished at 16:09 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 & 145-4 (lead by 45

A firm push into the off side and a single to bring up the half century in 108 balls with six fours.

Dropped on 45 by Sussex captain Ollie Robinson he has made immediate use of that reprieve.

How much more will Tattersall make Sussex pay?

  17. YORKSHIRE NEED 549 RUNS TO BEAT BEARSpublished at 16:09 BST 10 May

    Warwickshire 147 & 553-6 dec v Yorkshire 152

Warwickshire declare at tea and Yorkshire have a large run chase on their hands, starting in the evening session.

  18. Wowzeroonies. I did not see this comingpublished at 16:08 BST 10 May

    Worcestershire v Durham 0-0 (target 143)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

About an hour and a half ago myself and co-commentator Frank Watson were talking about how comfortable Worcestershire were in the general scheme of things, in this game.

They were 53-0 and I wondered whether their 40-run first innings lead was negligeable or sizeable? It's now the former because they ended up all out 25 overs later for just 102!

They lost 10-49 in that spell and Durham need 143 to win from the remaining 42 overs of day three.

Callum Parkinson did most of the damage as he took 5-9 in 7.4 overs, including two excellent caught and bowleds.

Will this be a walk in the park for the unbeaten visitors? Or are we in for more fireworks?

  19. dropped catch

Tattersall dropped on 45published at 16:03 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 & 141-4 (lead by 41 runs)

Really sharp chance to Ollie Robinson at slip off Jack Carson but as he scoops the ball from low near the deck he spills it.

Jonathan Tattersall was on 45 at the time and that would have been the perfect boost as they prepare to go in for tea in an over or two.

  20. Division 2 updatepublished at 16:02 BST 10 May

    #bbccricket

Northamptonshire were unsurprisingly forced to follow on after only offering up 228 in response to Derbyshire's 604-7 declared, and are four without loss in Derby to start their second innings.

Cameron Bancroft continues to lead the line for Gloucestershire in their match against Kent. The opener is 63 not out to give his county a 137-run lead with six wickets in hands.
