  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:58 BST 10 May

    Allison lbw b Abbott 34 (Essex 141-4 Target: 177)

Kyle Abbott has another and while it may not prevent an Essex victory it is a milestone with his 500th first class wickets for the county.

It is 4-28 for the South African.

  2. DURHAM BEAT WORCS BY NINE WICKETSpublished at 17:54 BST 10 May
    Breaking

    Worcs 308 & 102 v Durham 268 & 143-1

Ben McKinney finishes it off with a single to take him to 87 not out - and Durham have triumphed inside three days.

Emilio Gay leaves the field unbeaten on 51, the Durham pair sharing another century partnership - and their success never looked in doubt after that stunning turnaround in the afternoon session.

Worcestershire, who have now suffered successive defeats, had been 93 in front with 10 wickets standing - and ended up losing all of those for another 49.

  3. Postpublished at 17:53 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 & 141-3 (Target: 177) v Hants 235 & 214

Matt Critchley brings up the 100 partnership between himself and Charlie Allison with a beautifully timed punch drive through mid on.

He is up to 68 and with eight overs remaining and just 36 needed this is surely finishing pretty soon.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:50 BST 10 May

    Ingram lbw b Pretorius 4 (Glamorgan 133-4 v Somerset, target 283)

One South African takes out another!

Migael Pretorius traps Colin Ingram and Glamorgan are another one down. It had been steady progress for the hosts, but the last couple of wickets leave them perilously close to defeat, here.

Ryan Hadley comes in as a surprising nightwatchman, with some 40-odd balls still scheduled for today.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Emilio Gaypublished at 17:50 BST 10 May

    Worcs v Durham 137-1 (target 143)

Emilio Gay follows up his back to back hundreds with a 50 from 70 balls - and Durham are almost there.

Just six runs needed to win.

  6. Postpublished at 17:48 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 & 128-3 (Target: 177) v Hants 235 & 214

Matt Critchley has despatched Kyle Abbott to the rope with two fours in two balls, both punched to the cover boundary.

  7. Two players off the field for Bearspublished at 17:46 BST 10 May

    Warks 147 ao & 553 dec v Yorks 152 ao & 63-3

The clash at Edgbaston, seeing Zen Malik and Michael Booth collide attempting to take a catch off Harry Brook's blade, has caused both of them to leave the field.

Hopefully they will both be okay and that is clearly the Bears' main concern, but it also leaves them shy of the bowling option of Booth if he can't come back on.

There could be need for a concussion or injury replacement.

Terrific win for Middlesex. Superb from Geddes to bring us home in tough batting conditions. Higgins was the difference maker overall with his seven wickets and 39 runs in a tight game. A win against Derbys next and we’ll feel right in the hunt for promotion!

    James, London

There will be continued support for Gay and McKinney who have started well again but for me England’s opener to replace Crawley is between Div 1 batsmen Tribe and Sibley. Tribe has proved he can score runs as an opener but if there is any justice Dom deserves another chance.

  9. Postpublished at 17:45 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 & 120-3 (Target: 177) v Hants 235 & 214

Ben Brown really does not have any choice given his support bowlers have conspicuously failed to stem the flow of runs.

So Kyle Abbott... what have you got left in the locker? Can you turn this back Hants' way?

  10. Postpublished at 17:43 BST 10 May

    Warwicks 147 & 553-6 dec v Yorkshire 152 & 63-3

A horrible-looking clash between team-mates in the field with Zen Malik coming off worse and the physio is on to check him over.

They both had their eyes on the ball and went for a catch as Harry Brook sent it skywards but bumped into each other and the chance goes begging.

But the immediate concern is for Malik's welfare and it looks like he will head off the pitch for a time to recover.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Matt Critchleypublished at 17:42 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 & 119-3 (Target: 177) v Hants 235 & 214

Essex all-rounder Matt CritchleyImage source, Shutterstock

Matt Critchley connects to send James Fuller to the boundary and brings up his half century in 44 balls and with eight fours.

It has been a settling knock from the big all-rounder and looks to be taking Essex to victory here.

  12. 100 runs

100 up for Durhampublished at 17:38 BST 10 May

    Worcs v Durham 103-1 (target 143)

There's nothing in the body language of Worcestershire's players to suggest any belief they can delay Durham's victory for long.

That afternoon collapse with the bat clearly knocked the stuffing out of the home side, who appeared to be in a good position after bowling Durham out for a 40-run advantage earlier today.

How quickly it can all change...

  13. Postpublished at 17:36 BST 10 May

    Essex 273 & 107-3 (Target: 177) v Hants 235 & 214

Matt Critchley and Charlie Allison are taking this game away from Hants.

Since Kyle Abbott was taken off, Codi Yusuf, Scott Currie and Liam Dawson have been unable to stem the flow of runs.

The hosts need another 70 and have pretty much put one hand on the victory.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:35 BST 10 May

    Tribe c Rew b Pretorius 52 (Glamorgan 127-3 v Somerset, target 283)

    It's been coming...

A really big wicket for the visitors, who had restricted Glamorgan to just 47 in this session and now have a reward to show for it.

Moments after claiming his 50, Asa Tribe edges on from Migael Pretorius and James Rew takes a fine catch.

A real chance now for Somerset to push on before the end of the day.

  16. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 17:32 BST 10 May

    Sussex 430 v Leics 328 & 154-4

Rain is back at Hove and the covers are going on again. The lead is 52 runs but with the light gloomy that may be it for the day.

  17. Postpublished at 17:31 BST 10 May

    Warwickshire 147 & 553-6 dec v Yorkshire 152 & 51-3

A recovery of sorts for Yorkshire who have made it past 50 thanks to Matthew Revis (24*) and Harry Brook (11*).

They looked like they might get skittled early in the innings when they were 3-1 7-2 and 14-3.

A big shout from Bears skipper Ed Barnard for lbw but Revis survives.

  18. Division 2 updatepublished at 17:30 BST 10 May

    #bbccricket

A first wicket of the second Northamptonshire innings as they follow on against Derbyshire sees Luke Proctor depart for 20. They reach 50-1, but are still 326 behind.

In Bristol, Cameron Bancroft stands firm against Kent for the hosts. He's 80 not out, and Gloucestershire lead by 204.

I think Yorkshire might be in a bit of trouble.

    Andy, France

Ethan Bamber has to be the best bowler not to even get a mention when it comes to the England team. Maybe he is no more than a good county pro but surely he has earned a game with the Lions.

    Chris, Hants

  20. 50 runs

50 for Asa Tribepublished at 17:25 BST 10 May

    Glamorgan 120-2 v Somerset (target 283)

Asa Tribe gets his third half century of the 2026 season off 99 balls, thanks in part to seven fours.

163 still needed, but plenty of wickets in hand for Glamorgan as the shadows lengthen in Cardiff.
