    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 253-9

Henry Crocombe is off the mark first ball with a glance to fine leg for four.

He's later across the stumps and hit on the pad but that's not out. Swinging away. Leg bye.

Four runs to ollie Robinson with a thump through mid on. That's the Sussex 250 and a batting point in 71 overs.

    Sibley c Brook b Richardson 34 (Yorkshire v Surrey 88-6 f/o - trail by 194)

The first wicket of the day goes down at Headingley and you can not keep Harry Brook out of this match, can you?

Great bowling from Jhye Richardson - perfect line and length and Dom Sibley, who had just been dropped, has to play at this one.

He edges to Brook at second slip who makes an excellent diving catch to his left.

Dom Bess will be breathing a sigh of relief right now.

    Coles c Overton b Ogborne 16 (Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 244-9)

Shot! A bit leg side from Alfie Ogborne and James Coles flicks that away through mid on for four.

Out! Loose defensive prod angled across the right-hander, edged and caught by Craig Overton at second slip.

Third bowling point for Somerset and here comes Henry Crocombe to bat.

  4. wicket

    Bedingham c Muyeye b Milnes 74 (Kent 523 v Durham 175-6)

Big blow for Durham as David Bedingham drives at a widish ball from Matt Milnes and Tawanda Muyeye swoops to his left from second slip to take the catch. Kasey Aldridge is the new Durham batter.

  5. dropped catch

    Yorkshire v Surrey 88-5 f/o - trail by 194

Dropped at leg slip by Dom Bess!

That's exactly how Dom Sibley got out yesterday. And the trap is set once more as he glances to Bess in identical fashion but this time Bess drops.

That was a huge opportunity in just the second over of the day. Good once more from Yorkshire's Jack White.

Sibley lives to fight another ball.

  6. Play commences at Southamptonpublished at 11:05 BST 18 May

    Hampshire 82-4 & 214 v Notts 229

Play begins at the Utilita Bowl with a single by Ben Brown off the bowling of Fergus O'Neill, who has seven wickets in the match and is eyeing more before the end of the day.

Brown, back on strike quickly after another single Jake Lehmann, then swats O'Neill through mid-wicket for four.

  7. Postpublished at 11:04 BST 18 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 240-8

Ollie Robinson pushes the first ball of the day to cover and there's no run.

Another drive to mid off yields the same result. Off the mark this time, driving sweetly through backward point for four.

He's squared up by a bit of late in-swing from Lewis Gregory, but pats the ball safely down the ground.

James Coles to face Alfie Ogborne.

Having lost all of yesterday in Beckenham, due to a damp patch on the wicket, we get underway on time today.

It's sunny at the moment but the forecast predicts an 80% of rain around 1.00pm to 3.00pm, so we may have a disrupted afternoon. But the fact we have lost 111 overs of the game now means this is really only about bonus points today.

Durham are also five down in their first innings and trail Kent by 350. We haven't seen any action since Saturday afternoon. My notepad reminds me David Bedingham has 72 and Ben Stokes is on eight.

  9. Start of day delayed at Southportpublished at 11:03 BST 18 May

    Lancs 281-8 v Worcs 270

The start of the final day's play at Southport has been delayed due to rain.

The sunshine that overlooked the pitch around 9:30am has been replaced by a downpour. It is expected we will start at around 11:30am but we will let you know if we are pushed back any further there.

  10. Postpublished at 11:03 BST 18 May

    Middx 177 & 280-8 v Derbys 376

Unsurprisingly, Ben Aitchison opens up for Derbyshire, who will want to wrap this innings up asap.

Just a single each for Harry Duke and Toby Roland-Jones from his opening over.

  11. Postpublished at 11:03 BST 18 May

    Yorkshire v Surrey 87-5 f/o - trail by 195

A slightly streaky boundary with the second ball of the day for Surrey.

Josh Blake plays with soft hands to run the ball down to third man for four.

  12. Postpublished at 11:01 BST 18 May

    Kent 523 v Durham 173-5

Matt Milnes' run-up isn't quite right and he pulls out at the half-way point. OK second time around and David Bedingham gets solidly behind it in defence.

  13. 'MJK' remembered at Edgbastonpublished at 11:01 BST 18 May

    Glamorgan 192-5 & 360 v Warwickshire 252

    Play begins in Birmingham.

Prior to play, there was a moment of silence at Edgbaston, held by players, officials, staff and spectators, to mark the passing of Warwickshire legend and former England captain Mike Smith, who died on Sunday at the age of 92.

Colin Ingram is at the crease on 80 and will hope to pass three figures for Glamorgan en route to aiding their efforts to lift this match out of the reach of Warwickshire and giving the visitors every chance of clinching victory themselves.

The lead currently stands at 300.

  14. Day Four begins at Tauntonpublished at 11:00 BST 18 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 236-8

Overcast but not raining currently. Game on for now.

Five balls left in the Lewis Gregory over. The Somerset captain dislodged Fynn Hudson-Prentice with the first ball of his over last night.

The Somerset captain will bowl to visiting captain Ollie Robinson.

Robinson can bat a bit. He got a century v Surrey at the Oval a couple of rounds ago.

James Coles is 12 not out off 50 balls at the other end.

We still have a game at Beckenham - you might have forgotten about it as there was no play yesterday after overnight rain got under the covers.

Play will start on time today, though, and there is the prospect of seeing whether Ben Stokes can find some form with the bat.

He is eight not out and David Bedingham has 72.

Barring a Durham collapse, it's hard to see this ending up as anything other than a draw with so much time lost.

    What a Sunday Yorkshire had.

The White Rose skittled Surrey for just 204 before captain Jonny Bairstow enforced the follow-on and, after a small rain delay, he turned to Harry Brook with the ball while George Hill remained off the field.

It turned out to be an inspired decision. Brook took 3-11, including the wickets of Ryan Patel and England colleague Jamie Smith in a double-wicket maiden as Yorkshire blasted through the Brown Caps for the second time in a day.

The White Rose took 15 wickets in total - an incredible collective effort, especially considering rain fell on three separate occasions at Headingley.

Dom Sibley (33*) and Josh Blake (15*) return to the crease for the visitors but they will have to pull off a monumental partnership to prevent Yorkshire cleaning up on day four, with bad weather their best hope of pulling of an unlikely draw.

This morning there has been some light rain but we are, as things stand, set to start on time at 11:00 BST.

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 236-8

Sussex are in a battle to save this game after a batting collapse that saw the visitors slide from 204-3 to 213-7 in less than 11 overs.

Sussex were buoyed by Dan Hughes (107) who also made a century in the last round v Leicestershire. But the innings decline began with his loose drive, which saw him edge to first slip off Tom Lammonby - as he candidly acknowledged.

"Absolutely I'm cross with myself. Once you get to that hundred mark, you don't want to switch off. You just want to get greedy and bat for as long as you can," Hughes said.

"I sort of blame myself for that little collapse because I started it."

But the Australian added: "I feel like I'm doing all the right things. I'm driving the ball really nicely. I'm leaving the ball really well - except for the one I got out on."
