    Glam 148-5 - target 283 v Somerset

Steady away for Glamorgan and they’re over halfway to their target, a little milestone.

Sean Dickson is likely to be key here - how many crucial knocks did he play for Somerset in his time there?

He’s struck the first boundary of the morning wirh a sweet cover drive off Lewis Gregory.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Ben Slaterpublished at 11:17 BST 11 May

    Notts 415 & 113-1 v Surrey 449

Ben Slater slashes Jordan Clark over the slips for four and then pushes a single to advance to his 50 from 83 balls.

It's the fifth time Slater has posted a half-century or higher this season.

A bit of lift from James Taylor and it flies off the shoulder of the bat to Sam Northeast at second slip.

That is the end of the Glos innings and also it is a 10-wicket haul in the match for Taylor on his Kent debut.

His 4-54 in the second innings combines with 6-52 in the first to give match figures of 10-106.

Kent will need 261 to win the match.

  4. Play to resume at Edgbastonpublished at 11:10 BST 11 May

    Warks v Yorks 98-5 (target 549)

The ground staff clearly did get a move on, because play is due to start at 11:15 BST.

Good news for Warwickshire... less so for Yorkshire, who have only five wickets standing.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:04 BST 11 May

Tattersall b Robinson 54 (Leics 154-5, lead by 52 runs)

Great start for Sussex and Ollie Robinson as Jonny Tattersall shoulders arms to one that nips back sharply and takes the top of off.

Tattersall looked key to the Foxes getting to a half decent total and not only was his dismissal a blow it hinted at plenty of movement off the pitch which could make things difficult for the remainder.

  6. 100 runs

100 up for Nottinghamshirepublished at 11:03 BST 11 May

    Notts 415 & 100-1 v Surrey 449

The first run of day four, Ben Slater's leg-glance off Dan Worrall for an easy single, brings a ripple of applause as Nottinghamshire's second-innings total moves into three figures.

Notts lead by 66 - can they force the tempo or will Surrey rip out a few wickets and put the home side under pressure?

  7. rain stops play

Delayed start at Edgbastonpublished at 10:59 BST 11 May

    Warks v Yorks 98-5 (target 549)

Maybe Yorkshire's prayers for miracles are bearing fruit?

The morning rain in Birmingham means the covers are on and we won't begin day four on time.

No doubt the ground staff have been politely asked to mop up as swiftly as they can...

  10. Can Derbyshire finish the job?published at 10:55 BST 11 May

    Derbys 604-7d v Northants 228 & 66-2 f/o

Derbyshire resume with a first victory of the season in their sights.

They’ve totally dominated the game so far and need to find eight more wickets.

First innings centurion Calvin Harrison could be key for Northants’ hopes of an escape but he won’t be able to do it all himself, as was the case yesterday.

Shoaib Bashir took a wicket in the dying embers of day three. What a chance to spin Derbyshire to victory today.

  11. Glos and Kent "50-50" going into tense final daypublished at 10:54 BST 11 May

    Glos 325 & 251-9 (lead by 249) v Kent 327

    Cameron BancroftImage source, Shutterstock

Glocs captain Cameron Bancroft admitted it was “a 50-50 game” going into the final day with his side leading Kent by 249 runs with one wicket remaining.

Bancroft top scored with 83 as the visitors built a decent defence at 251-9 ahead of a last day run chase for the hosts.

“It was really challenging batting out there," said the Glocs skipper. "The pitch is still doing quite a lot for the bowlers and hopefully that will be the same on day four.

“But it’s a 50-50 game at the moment and it’s hard to predict what will happen.”

Kent seamer Ekansh Singh agreed the outcome was in the balance.

“With the pitch as it is, there will definitely be challenging periods for us when we bat on day four," he said.

“But we will back ourselves to be positive and hopefully emerge with a win from what has been a very exciting game to play in.”

  12. Tight finish in store at Sophia Gardens?published at 10:52 BST 11 May

    Somerset v Glam 140-5 - target 283

Glamorgan’s fightback, bowling Somerset out for just 157 second time around, has given them a sniff on the final day.

But 143 more to win still feels plenty for the lower order.

Somerset probably start the day favourites after taking 3-7 late on day three.

Tom Abell’s 71, in an innings of five ducks, could yet be the match-winning knock. He and Lewis Gregory, with a valuable 45, salvaged the wreckage of 63-8 yesterday.

  13. Sussex confidence high for third win of campaignpublished at 10:47 BST 11 May

Sussex seamer Henry Crocombe said there was confidence in the home dressing room that day four could bring a third victory of the campaign for south coast club.

Visitors Leics have a fragile grip on the contest with a 52-run lead with six second innings wickets remaining.

Crocombe admitted that there was confidence that Sussex can knock over the remainder of the Foxes batting line up to give themselves a manageable chase on day four.

“We’re pretty confident going into the last day. We would have liked another couple of wickets. But we bowled decently to be fair in the second session.

“We contained the run rate pretty well and have a chance of knocking them over in the morning.”

Leics opener Rishi Patel said it was a case of building slowly towards lunch but admitted that they need partnerships to stick if they are to stand a chance of a win.

“We’ll have to manage the first couple of hours and see where we are at lunch. The lads can bat long and deep. We back ourselves to bat ourselves into a good position.”

  14. Can anything separate Notts and Surrey on day four?published at 10:45 BST 11 May

    Notts 415 & 99-1 v Surrey 449

Nottinghamshire's Liam Patterson-White (C) celebrates a wicket against SurreyImage source, Shutterstock

Nottinghamshire and Surrey were tussling for the title last year and began this round of games in first and second place respectively, so it’s not surprising they’ve been hard to separate over the past three days.

“I think overall, it’s two very good teams with lots of good players, with a lot on the line, who were not prepared to give an inch,” was the assessment of Surrey’s head coach Gareth Batty at stumps on day three.

When the pendulum has swung at all at Trent Bridge, it hasn’t drifted very far – with Notts wiping out a first-innings deficit of 34 to reach 99-1 second time around, an advantage of 65 runs.

So can either of these championship contenders force the pace on the final day?

There were a few signs of turn for Liam Patterson-White when Surrey were batting and Dan Lawrence got the odd ball to talk as well in the closing stages… but it would take a clatter of wickets this morning to induce nerves in the Notts camp.

Equally, could the Bens – Duckett and Slater – hit the accelerator and put the home side in a position to declare at some stage?

It may be a case of who blinks first.

  15. Yorkshire need 'miracles' to escape as Bears close inpublished at 10:43 BST 11 May

    Warks v Yorks 98-5 (target 549)

Warwickshire's Ethan Bamber punches the air after taking a wicketImage source, Shutterstock

Yorkshire will have to ‘pray for miracles’ as they battle to stave off defeat to Warwickshire at Edgbaston today, admitted assistant coach Mick Lewis.

Set an improbable 549 for victory, the Tykes were staring down the barrel when Ethan Bamber reduced them to 14-3 and, despite a mini-recovery, they also lost Harry Brook and captain Jonny Bairstow to close on 98-5.

Yorkshire’s slender hopes of survival rest on the shoulders of Matthew Revis, who is 37 not out alongside George Hill (15no) and Lewis said: “We’re just going to have to take it hour by hour.

“It’s going to be a hard challenge for us, but we've still got some batting in the sheds and Rev is playing beautifully at the moment.

“You never know what could happen. We all pray for miracles, and we’ll front up with a smile on our face and see what happens.”

The Bears’ bowlers are looking ruthless, with Bamber’s initial burst backed up by a wicket apiece for former Yorkshire all-rounder Jordan Thompson and skipper Ed Barnard. Five more will seal their second win of the season.
