What a strange couple of weeks for the women's and men's team. This Test has been hugely disappointing, whilst it has been history making, England have been poor. I will usually defend the team, but this Test has been dreadful. Poor batting, the bowling hasn't been particularly threatening.

This passage of play is against these two's nature. They like to play aggressive shots but will have to slow it down to allow England's survival.

Sophie Ecclestone and Issy Wong defend Sneh Rana's latest over.

The biggest cheer of the day so far comes when Sachin Tendulkar takes his seat in front of the pavilion.

He's accompanied by ICC chair Jay Shah.

  4. Eng 142-7published at 46 overs

Sophie Ecclestone puts that slice of luck behind her and punches three down the ground.

The difference in ability between the teams is frankly frightening for the future. Going to be a long wait for any meaningful wins.

It would've been a belter from Sneh Rana.

  7. dropped catch

Ecclestone dropped on eightpublished at 45.1 overs

Kranti Gaud is into the attack and should have a wicket with her first delivery of the day.

It's a thick outside edge from Sophie Ecclestone that goes to second slip's right.

Sneh Rana gets a hand to it, but puts it down.

It went quickly, but at a nice catching height.

  8. Eng 139-7published at 45 overs

Half a shout for lbw from Sneh Rana against Issy Wong, but it's given not out and Harmanpreet Kaur suggests she thinks there was a little inside edge.

It's probably missing leg stump as well.

I always think that Ecclestone hasn't quite lived up to her expectations with the bat. She should be batting at six or seven right now.

  10. Eng 139-7published at 44 overs

Sophie Ecclestone leans on a full delivery from Sayali Satghare and it flies away through the covers for four.

Five dots follow, including one that keeps very low outside off stump.

Amy Jones had a 16% false shot percentage in this innings - the highest among batters who scored 50+ runs in this match.

Interestingly, Amy Jones' fifty in the first innings was just 10% - the lowest among the fifty-plus scorers.

Amy Jones just looking to hit the ball into mid-wicket, hits it straight there. Time and time again we've seen her caught there again, she moved back in her crease, a simple catch is taken.

India are thinking, start the car.

India celebrate and Amy Jones has to trudge off.

It's a short ball from Sneh Rana, but Jones pulls it straight to Shafali Verma at mid-wicket.

Issy Wong joins Sophie Ecclestone in the middle.

  15. Eng 132-6published at 42.3 overs

Richa Ghosh took an absolute screamer at silly point yesterday to dismiss Mady Villiers and she's almost at it again here.

Sophie Ecclestone crunches a cover drive at the fielder's right hand, but it doesn't stick this time.

We could be in for a stale couple of hours.

Sayali Satghare has two short legs for Amy Jones and is evidently targeting the stumps.

England's wicketkeeper plays out five dots and then takes a single into the covers to keep the strike.

  18. Eng 130-6published at 41 overs

A big waft outside off stump from Sophie Ecclestone is followed by a couple of tentative prods.

A maiden to start day four.

The players are out in the middle.

Amy Jones resumes on 52, while Sophie Ecclestone has one to her name.

It will be Sneh Rana to get things going for India.
