We have had good times bad times, mad times, crazy times, welcome to life as an England cricket fan.

    Terry, Crawley

  3. Eng 176-9published at 58.2 overs

You don't see this very often - an all-run four.

Sophie Ecclestone gets a thick outside edge down to third, but it stops short of the boundary.

Harmanpreet Kaur jogs after it in no great hurry.

  4. Eng 172-9published at 58 overs

I'm not sure how much Lauren Filer knows about it, but she survives the rest of Sree Charani's over.

I'm loving this counterpunch, quite late in the innings. But, admirable stuff from Sophie Ecclestone, playing every single stroke confidently.

  6. Eng 171-9published at 57.1 overs

Slightly short from Sree Charani and Sophie Ecclestone heaves it away for four.

This is now her highest score in Tests.

  7. Eng 167-9published at 57 overs

A single gives Lauren Filer one ball to survive from Deepti Sharma.

    And survive she does. Just.

Sophie Ecclestone can start thinking about that half-century.

  9. Eng 166-9published at 56.4 overs

Sophie Ecclestone continues to defy India.

It’s difficult to say who’s the worst test team between the men and women. Both pretty dismal at the moment.

    Kenneth, York

  11. Eng 162-9published at 56 overs

Almost a catch for Richa Ghosh at silly point as Lauren Filer prods forwards to Sree Charani.

    It's just short though.

Deepti Sharma has been relentless with her lines throughout the match. She has attacked the stumps 56% of the time - the most by any bowler in this match.

  13. Not outpublished at 55.2 overs

It's just clipping leg stump, but the call stays as not out.

    On we go.

Sree Charani is pleading with umpire Anna Harris for an lbw against Sophie Ecclestone, but it's not given.

    India review.

  16. Eng 159-9published at 55 overs

    How has that missed?

Deepti Sharma has her hands on her head as Lauren Filer plays inside the line and it somehow evades off stump.

Twice in a matter of weeks decisive Test matches seem to have become a retirement procession rather than an attempt to win a match. Not good enough from both the men's and women's game.

Deepti Sharma bowls Wong and Bell to put England on brink

    Too good from Deepti Sharma.

Flighted outside off stump and it spins back between Lauren Bell's bat and pad.

    The end is nigh.

The ball India didn't review was projected to hit the leg stump. Essentially, India missed a chance for an LBW and ended up getting Issy Wong's wicket on the very next delivery, bowled.
