The Indian spin unit is putting on an absolute clinic at the Home of Cricket. They have effectively spun an inescapable web around the English batters, backing up their world-class batting prowess.

Sneh Rana is back, from the Nursery End.

Sophie Ecclestone takes a single out to a sweeper on the cover boundary before Lauren Bell unconvincingly defends the next five deliveries.

That's Deepti Sharma for you, she has all the tools.

Deepti is the better bowler out of her and Rana, she has more variations in pace, just sliding it through that time a little bit quicker. A really good bowling change.

Bowled! Issy Wong's defences are breached.

India's relentless bowling has made the breakthrough, they've been so disciplined in this Test.

That one is out, and in emphatic style.

Deepti Sharma bowls this one a bit quicker and it's straight through Issy Wong's defences.

She goes for one and India are just two wickets away.

  6. Eng 157-7published at 52.4 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur continues to rotate her bowlers.

Deepti Sharma is introduced and thinks she's pinned Issy Wong lbw, but the umpire is unmoved and Kaur opts against a review.

Issy Wong has probably never been in this situation in her life, she's learning. It's like she's in the nets and she has no senior batter at the other end.

How often have we seen Sophie Ecclestone in this situation?

  8. Eng 156-7published at 52 overs

Sree Charani replaces Kranti Gaud as India turn to spin from both ends.

Issy Wong is still in her bunker and plays out a maiden.

I think there needs to be a word here between Issy Wong and Sophie Ecclestone. Wong has lost her way a bit here.

  10. Eng 155-7published at 51 overs

Issy Wong gets off the mark after 23 deliveries.

An inside edge scoots past short leg for a single.

Here is the only wicket to fall so far this morning.

Amy Jones hit a drag-down from Sneh Rana straight to Shafali Verma.

It's in the mind with Sophie Ecclestone and her batting, you can't train temperament.

The only things that might hold her back, is her off side game and those slower balls. She's really strong through midwicket but needs to work on picking the length and playing off the back foot.

  13. Eng 155-7published at 49.3 overs

Much more convincing from Sophie Ecclestone.

A square drive goes away for four more.

150-7 vs 341-7 tells us that we are miles away from being good enough to compete with the best. Add the defeat to Australia on the World Cup and it gets even worse.

  15. dropped catch

Ecclestone dropped on 16published at 49.1 overs

    Another life for Sophie Ecclestone.

Kranti Gaud finds the outside edge, but wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia is wrong-footed and can't cling on.

It runs away for four, to add insult to injury.

England still require 310 runs to win.

Sneh Rana switches to bowling around the wicket, creating a different angle of attack.

She gets one to slide on with the arm across Sophie Ecclestone before coming back over the wicket for the final ball of the over.

Ecclestone defends and pinches a single into the off-side.
