England are all over the place, falling apart.

A bit of a soft dismissal and a brain fade from Sam Curran.

The England all-rounder is three balls into this innings and ends up wildly driving at the fourth angled across him by Prasidh Krishna.

It's a big edge and straight into the gloves of KL Rahul who tosses the ball high into the air in delight.

Ahh this feels more like England. Was getting uneasy after all the winning.

    Daniel, Birmingham

Superb fightback from India! Looked like we were in trouble during that serious Duckett onslaught, but amazing to see Bumrah back to his lethal best, and what a moment for Gurnoor Brar to get the last laugh and slow things down.

That's a big leading edge. Jos Buttler was trying to work it through the on side, turned the bat too early and it went way up in the air. What a collision, terrific catch in the end. Simple catch if one person was involved but with two, it was chaotic.

Gurnoor Brar has had a terrific half an hour.

A huge leading edge from Jos Buttler's bat off a full delivery from Prasidh Krishna and goes straight in the air.

There's chaos as Gurnoor Brar and Shubman Gill ending up colliding in their desperation to go for the catch a few feet from behind the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Brar wins the shoulder barge and manages to hold on.

England in a bit of trouble here.

All three wicket-taking deliveries so far today have come with deliveries in the 8-10 metre 'hard length' range.

After his great knock last time out I would have opened with Buttler. You know soon enough if it's going to be a good day or not.

Joe Root carrying himself with an air of calm.

A low full toss from Jasprit Bumrah to finish the over and Jos Buttler flicks it square for a single to keep the strike.

Looking at Jasprit Bumrah bowling to Joe Root, he's gotten him out three times in ODIs and 11 times in Tests.

  10. Eng 78-3published at 15.2 overs

Joe Root mutters a 'come on' to himself as Jasprit Bumrah runs in.

Bumrah is looking to target Root's pads with a full delivery but Root is able to caress it off his legs for four.

Apologies. I began watching and Bethell and Duckett got out. I'll turn it back off and carry on reading.

Now it's a question as to whether England can bat all 50 overs.

  13. Eng 72-3published at 15 overs

A hectic period for England. They probably just need a couple of overs of Joe Root settling things down at Edgbaston.

Gurnoor Brar continues and slants it into the pad of Jos Buttler.

There's a pretty decent appeal but India skipper Shubman Gill decides not to send it upstairs.

Root gets himself off the mark off the fourth ball of the over with a calm dab behind point.

That was Jasprit Bumrah's 150th ODI wicket.

  15. Eng 69-3published at 14 overs

Jos Buttler is the new batter. He blocks out of a couple of deliveries from Jasprit Bumrah, before ducking out of the way of a bouncer which also flies over the head of KL Rahul and away for four byes.

Rahul got his fingertips on that but could not stop it.

England's predicted score sat at 330 before the dismissal of Jacob Bethell - following back-to-back wickets from Gurnoor Brar and the dismissal of Harry Brook that's dropped down to just 255.

It's caught at slip! When you do face Jasprit Bumrah for the first time in a while, you never know where the ball is coming from. It was a very tame poke of the bat from Harry Brook.

Harry Brook and Joe Root together.

Shubman Gill senses the moment and pivots back to Jasprit Bumrah.

The India seamer responds by picking up the wicket of the England captain with the first ball of his second spell.

A curious decision from Brook who opens the face and guides a short delivery outside off it into the hands of Rohit Sharma at slip.

Almost like the kind of thing you see players practising before play.
