England finally have a boundary through Will Jacks as Jaspreet Singh offers him some width to work with.

It’s a touch fortuitous as it trickles away down to third, but England won’t mind - at this stage, they’ll take runs any way they come.

We've got five overs to go.

This England batting line-up keep doing the same things and they keep getting the same result. As soon as they come up against a top team, it will be goodbye.

    Mark, Leicester

Astonishingly bad. Talk about the arrogance of underestimating your opponents. England deserve to go out, not one batsman is prepared to anchor an innings.

Crishan Kalugamage, a pizza maker by profession, has figures of 1-25 with one over to come from him.

He's picked up the crucial wicket of Tom Banton to give Italy more control during these middle overs.

It is a bit concerning. Nobody seems to go on. Tom Banton did the other night and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. It is disappointing that England can't find that at the moment.

You can see it in the Italian celebrations that they're starting to believe. Tom Banton is frustrated, and he is disappointed in himself. The ball was there to do something aggressive with... Banton is watching the ball hoping it will dip to get below the fielder, but it carries. Another soft dismissal.

More of the same from England!

Tom Banton is the latest batter to get a good start before gifting his wicket to Italy as he departs after offering an easy catch to Ben Manenti at deep mid-wicket with a tame shot.

England are rapidly running out of options here.

A lovely shot from Tom Banton similar to the shots he played the other night against Scotland. He is playing straight, he is getting to the pitch of the ball and whacking it. A good shot from Banton and sensible batting.

100 up for England in style as Tom Banton goes straight down the ground and clears the rope.

    He's moved to 29 from 19 balls.

The squeeze is on from Italy as Ben Manenti only allows England four runs from the 12th over.

I think Harry Brook has some soul-searching to do. He’s far too good a player from what we’ve generally seen these last six months or so!

    David, Surrey

I can’t say I’m shocked. This is just pure embarrassment for the English batters. We need to get to at least 180 if we’re going to have anything to defend.

England once again find themselves on the back foot at Eden Gardens.

Sam Curran scored a 20-ball 28 against Scotland and England fans will be hoping for something similar, if not more, from their all-rounder here.

Harry Brook has now been dismissed by spin in 24 of his 51 T20 international innings, at an average of just 19.2. He faces on average 15 deliveries per dismissal against spin at T20I level.

That sums it up. Two good shots and out. A problem for England throughout this tournament. They are not able to keep the momentum when they need to.

It is short and wide from Jon-Jon Smuts to Harry Brook. It is a very wide ball, but you can't blame Brook for chasing it, it is just poor execution.

Just when you thought England were about to pick up the pace, Harry Brook loses his wicket.

After hitting JJ Smuts for a four and then a six off the first two balls, the England captain throws his bat at a wider delivery and ends up toe-ending it into the gloves of keeper Gian Piero Meade.

  18. Eng 82-3published at 10 overs

Crishan Kalugamage picked up 3-18 in their historic win against Nepal but is yet to strike here.

He bowls a decent over here but Tom Baton manages to thread a drive between two fielders for a four.

Still only six runs from that over as we reach the halfway stage of this innings.

Yet again, England are being hamstrung by underperforming openers. Not going to get close to winning the tournament unless Buttler, Salt or both start performing.
