    You miss, I hit.

  2. Eng 69-2published at 10 overs

    Target 137

No boundaries and a dot ball to end it but it's 10 from Sophie Devine's first over.

England in a strong position at the halfway stage as the drinks come on.

  3. Eng 62-2published at 9.1 overs

    Target 137

Clearly it's not the fastest outfield tonight because Heather Knight has glanced the ball just past short fine leg and it looks a certain boundary.

But instead the ball pulls up inches from the cushion and Alice Capsey comes through to run the third.

Danielle Gibson produced the perfect bail trimmer to see the back of Sophie Devine. England would be chasing much more if Devine had lasted a few overs longer.

  5. Eng 59-2published at 9 overs

    Target 137

Another Melie Kerr over and again England are happy just to milk singles off the New Zealand skipper.

Six of them from this one. England need 78 from 66 balls. Very doable.

Rosemary Mair for me is the best when she takes the ball in the first over. But not having Lea Tahuhu in their middle overs means New Zealand have had to re-jig their bowling line-up.

  7. Eng 53-2published at 8 overs

    Knight 6, Capsey 33 | Target 137

Rosemary Mair is into the attack but is offering a bit too much width and Alice Capsey takes advantage, carving the ball just past short third for four.

That brings the 50 up for England, it's nine off the over - a decent one for the hosts.

England are behind on the worm, though Sophie Devine's three sixes in an over is probably one of the reasons for that.

    Target 137

England are happy to deal in singles off Melie Kerr, five of them from the over.

They need another 93 to win with a decent base... but there is suddenly an ominous cloud overhead. This wasn't meant to happen.

This is a huge moment in the game for me. Melie Kerr bowling to the experience of Heather Knight.

England are just six runs behind where New Zealand were at this stage, same number of wickets lost.

Not too bad when you consider that huge over the tourists had as Sophie Devine took down Sophie Ecclestone.

  12. Eng 39-2published at 6 overs

    Target 137

After an overthrow helps Heather Knight get off the mark with a single first ball, New Zealand help England out again.

It's a slack bit of fielding from Sophie Devine at backward point that allows Alice Capsey's well-timed shot get through and away to the rope for four.

Six from the over, plus the wicket of Maia Bouchier, and that's the end of the powerplay.

Lovely delivery from Bree Illing. Full ball, swings in. Maia Bouchier tries to clear that front leg and it just goes through her.

    Bowled 'er!

Good bowling from Bree Illing. Full, straight and shaping in a little to the right-hander - but it's a poor shot from Maia Bouchier.

The England batter swipes across the line and sees her middle stump pegged back.

An over that feels like it has shifted the momentum in this match.

  16. Eng 33-1published at 5 overs

Four more to end the over, tickled fine by Alice Capsey and that's the big over that England wanted in this powerplay.

They take 16 from it in total to dent Jess Kerr's figures.

We saw Alice Capsey punish a couple of full tosses in the ODIs. She hit that one really sweetly.

  18. 6 runs

    Eng 27-1published at 4.2 overs

    Target 137

    This will help!

Having cleverly ramped the first ball of the over for four, Alice Capsey advances to the next from Jess Kerr - a full toss - and clobbers it high over long-on for six.

There's been a couple of balls in this over that really should have been put away and haven't.

  20. Eng 17-1published at 4 overs

    Target 137

It is indeed Suzie Bates on to bowl but England aren't able to take full advantage of a couple of really loose deliveries.

That is in part down to some excellent fielding. Maia Bouchier nails a full toss through square leg, it looks four all the way but a fabulous diving stop means they have to settle for two.

Just four from the over and England are slipping behind the rate a little. Still early days, though.
