WICKETpublished at 15:35 BST 5 April

    Van Beek c Tribe b Hadley 6 (Glamorgan 302 v Yorks 199-8)

Logan van Beek had no idea where that one had gone.

He tries to pull a ball from Ryan Hadley but the ball loops up to slip off the top edge and it's an easy catch for Asa Tribe.

Australian Hadley appears to go through some kind of odd rugby passing routine by way of celebration.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:34 BST 5 April

Bamber lbw Taylor 11 (Warwickshire 534-9 Surrey 328)

Surrey's tough stint in the field is almost over as James Taylor gets one to nip back and has Ethan Bamber lbw.

But the 2024 champions will have to score more than 200 in their second innings to wipe out Warwickshire's first innings lead

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:31 BST 5 April

    Price c Eskinazi b Holland 73 (Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 336-8)

"Sussex in an absolutely dominant position - 336-8, they lead by 452," says BBC Radio Leicester's Richard Rae.

Stevie Eskinazi has an excellent pair of hands and he dives at mid-wicket to catch Tom Price as he pulls a ball from Ian Holland.

Price batted faced 120 deliveries and hit 10 fours in a fine first innings for his new club.

Sussex skipper Ollie Robinson, the man with the declaration equation in his brain, walks to the middle.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:29 BST 5 April

    Northants 258 v Lancs 384 & 101-6

George Bartlett will not want to watch this one back as it is straight to him at short cover off the bat of George Balderson (30) and he spills it.

Ben Sanderson deserved the wicket and with Lancs lead 227 and rising you wonder how costly that may prove.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:28 BST 5 April

    Smith c. Foakes b. Albert 38 (Warwickshire 517/8 Surrey 328)

Eventful contest between two young cricketers, Warwickshire's Kai Smith and Surrey's Ralphie Albert.

First Albert has Smith playing on but is called for a no ball. Then Smith dispatches the spinner into the building site where the Raglan Stand used to be.

But the bowler always gets the final say and Smith skies a catch to wicket keeper Ben Foakes trying to hit Albert for another six.

Mason Crane is taking a breather at Sophia Gardens with figures of 4-48 from his 14 overs so far.

Ben Kellaway is now providing the second spin option for Glamorgan but Matthew Revis looks settled on 43 not out following a boundary off Ryan Hadley and Logan van Beek has six.

Glos 28-1 - need 229 to make Middlesex bat again

No news from Lord's is good news from Lord's for Gloucestershire fans.

Ben Charlesworth (16*) and Joe Phillips (9*) are into the 14th over of the follow-on, the deficit is down to 201 but the sunshine has been hidden by a blanket of cloud as Middlesex try to conjure a second wicket.

  9. Postpublished at 15:24 BST 5 April

    Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 331-7

No sign of any beckoning finger from the Sussex dressing room.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice comes down the pitch to Ian Holland and cracks it back past the bowler for four runs.

He is 18 not out and the lead is 448.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:23 BST 5 April

    Somerset 347 & 7-1 v Notts 338

Josh Thomas was a lucky boy a moment ago, he flashed a drive at Olly Stone and got a thick edge through to first slip where it was spilled... but his reprieve doesn't last long.

Dillon Pennington slams one in which straightens up on Thomas as he doubles-up and raps him infront of middle and leg.

James Rew is out there at three in place of Tom Lammonby.

  11. wicket

    Shoaib BashirImage source, Shutterstock

Brett D'Oliveira stares hard at the pitch as if to say 'what happened there?'

What happened was that Shoaib Bashir found a little extra bounce and the Worcestershire batter edged it to Ben Aitchison at first slip.

That is Bashir's first Championship wicket for his new county.

Why would Warwickshire declare and risk having to bat again. Bat big, bat once then bowl Surrey out. I imagine they'll declare with about an hour to go to effectively have two goes with the new ball: once tonight then again tomorrow and still have a second new ball

    Dave, Wiltshire

Surrey will be very keen to prevent that exact scenario occurring, but need to find three wickets to do so.

  13. 50 runs

for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 15:15 BST 5 April

    Derbys 625-8 dec v Worcs 261-5

Brett D'Oliveira tries a reverse sweep to a ball from England's Shoaib Bashir and three runs carries him to a 98-ball 50 - a hugely valuable effort so far for his side, who are still 361 behind.

They need him to convert this into a really big score if they are to have any hope of avoiding the follow-on.

  14. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 5 April

    Somerset 347 & 6-0 v Notts 338

Tom Kohler-Cadmore gets off the mark with a skip down the track and a flick of the wrists off Dillon Pennington for a single to fine leg.

    The Somerset lead is 15.

  15. Postpublished at 15:14 BST 5 April

    Hants 156 and 23-1 v Essex 461-7d

Nick Gubbins, who has looked tentative and scratchy so far in this match, has just turned his form around in one over with two beautiful straight drives off Jamie Porter.

He has moved to 11 from 23 balls.

That is the good news but the bad news is that there are dark clouds circling the Utilita Bowl and the groundstaff are hovinering near the covers.

    Warwickshire 507/7 v Surrey 328

Bowler Tom Lawes gets one in the face from Jordan Thompson on his follow through.

Lawes leaves the field but the hopeful news is he walked off unaided and indeed had to be persuaded by the physio Paul Steele to come off for a check-up

The ball loops to Ricardo Vasconcelos who stays low to take the catch at slip.

The lead is 203 but Lancs are not comfortable yet.
