  1. Play abandoned for the day at CLSpublished at 16:06 BST 5 April

    Durham 335 & 83-2 v Kent 197

Real shame, especially for Durham, but after an inspection of the playing surface at the Riverside a few moments ago it has been determined no play will be possible on day three.

In case you missed it earlier, Storm Dave wreaked havoc in the early hours, with covers deposited into the stands and scaffolding brought down, with the uncovered playing surface taking on a lot of water.

The ground staff have worked tirelessly today to try to get us some cricket, but we will have to try again tomorrow, with Durham leading by 221 with eight second-innings wickets in hand.

    Crocombe st Cox b Ahmed 364 (Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 364)

So the Leicestershire target will be 481 at Grace Road.

Sussex's second innings comes to an end as Henry Crocombe comes down the pitch to Rehan Ahmed, playing a nothing shot and leaves Ben Cox with one of the easiest stumpings of his career.

Ahmed finishes with 3-61 but the Foxes are going to need something special from him with the bat if they are going to get anywhere in the vicinity of this mammoth chase. That's tea.

...goes to multi-trophy winning former Bears captain Dermot Reeve while discussing batting technique on commentary:

"I played with Eric Clapton and I was better than him. I'm not talking about having a jam with a guitar. But when Eric opened the batting with me in a Bunbury game he had his head completely tilted and his eyes sideways and he got bowled first ball. They put the bails back on and said have another go!"

  4. Tea at Lord'spublished at 16:04 BST 5 April

Glos 57/1 f/o - need 229 to make Middlesex bat again

Job done for Joe Phillips and Ben Charlesworth who reach tea having added 56 in just under 21 overs together after Cameron Bancroft was bowled by Sebastian Morgan with just one on the board.

The deficit is 172 with nine wickets standing but there are still 32 overs remaining in the day and 96 more in prospect tomorrow so Middlesex will use this 20 minutes to recharge ahead of another push for wickets after the resumption.

  5. Tea at Wantage Roadpublished at 16:03 BST 5 April

    Northants 258 v Lancs 384 & 113-8

A good session for Northants who have taken 5-90 since lunch and are back in a game which had looked out of reach.

Harry Conway's 4-18 was the standout performance with the ball and included as close to a hat-trick as you can get without actually landing one with three wickets in four balls.

There have been good supporting acts from Calvin Harrison who has 2-27 from 10 always lively overs.

This is game on for both sides with Lancs leading by 239 with two wickets remaining.

  6. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:59 BST 5 April

    Somerset 347 & 32-1 v Notts 338

Forget the pressure, James Rew whips out a reverse sweep off Liam Patterson-White for four to fine leg two balls before the tea interval.

Notts made a perfect start to the second innings with Josh Thomas departing early and have kept a lid on the scoring, but Somerset head off with a lead of 41 and nine wickets in hand.

  7. Five-wicket haul for Mason Cranepublished at 15:57 BST 5 April

    Glamorgan 302 v Yorks 226

Well bowled, Mason Crane, who returns to the attack to dismiss Ben Coad and claim his eighth five-for in first-class cricket.

Coad perishes for 12 as he tries to drive and Colin Ingram, takes a sharp chance at slip.

Leg-spinner Crane's final figures are 5-55 and he was well supported by Australian paceman Ryan Hadley, who takes 3-62 on debut.

They will take tea before Glamorgan begin their second innings with a 76-run lead.

  8. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 15:57 BST 5 April

    Warwickshire 544 v Surrey 328

The end of Warwickshire's first innings was followed immediately by tea at Edgbaston.

The highlight for the Bears was a career best 144 for Dan Mousley who shared in a double century stand with Sam Hain.

Beau Webster also reached 50 but it was Kai Smith and Jordan Thompson who provided some flamboyant entertainment towards the end hitting a huge six each.

For Surrey it was a big day for teenage spinner Raphie Albert who claimed his first three championship wickets.

Surrey will start their second innings after the interval 216 behind.

WICKETpublished at 15:52 BST 5 April

    Robinson c Cox b Ahmed 11 (Leics 245 v Sussex 361 & 358-9)

It looks like we're not going to see a declaration by Sussex.

Ollie Robinson is caught behind off spinner Rehan Ahmed, attempting a sort of reverse lap.

He's not thrilled by the decision but has to go and and number 11 Henry Crocombe comes out to replace him.

  11. Tea at Derbypublished at 15:51 BST 5 April

    Derbyshire 625-8 dec v Worcestershire 282-7

Tom Taylor hits Ben Aitchison through the covers for four as Worcestershire avoid any further damage before the tea interval.

Four wickets for Derbyshire in the afternoon session, with England spinner Shoaib Bashir having Brett D'Oliveira taken at slip, his first success for his new county.

The deficit is 343 and Worcestershire are facing four tough sessions to try and avoid defeat.

WICKETpublished at 15:49 BST 5 April

    Hartley lbw b McSweeney 16 (Northants 258 v Lancs 384 & 108-8)

An inspired change brings another wicket.

Calvin Harrison looked to be causing all sorts of problems and got the wicket of George Balderson but Luke Procter tosses the ball to Nathan McSweeney and he does the business straight away.

Tom Hartley moves to prod away a full pitched delivery but it lands on his toes and that is plumb in front.

The lead is 235 and if they can take the last two wickets quickly we will have a belting contest here.

  13. Postpublished at 15:48 BST 5 April

    Somerset 347 & 21-1 v Notts 338

Tom Kohler-Cadmore picks up his first boundary with a lovely cover drive off Rob Lord and he moves to 6* as the Somerset lead ticks up to 30.

Slow-going at Taunton with the game in the balance.

  14. Postpublished at 15:46 BST 5 April

    Hants 156 & 59-1 v Essex 461-7d

Nick Gubbins (13) and Tom Prest (37) are doing a decent job of seeing off the new ball after a nervy start. In fact, by the looks of things they may have done it.

Of course Hants remain in all sorts of bother in this contest trailing by 254, but if the job is to frustrate Essex they are achieving just that.

Wiaan Mulder and Simon Harmer have the task of taking the second wicket and the pair are up to 55 together and they are showing no signs of making the breakthrough.

50 and out for Matthew Revis.

He smashes Ryan Hadley over mid-wicket for six but the next one is gloved through to the keeper as he goes for another big leg-side hit.

    Three wickets for Hadley now.

Glos 42-1 f/o - need 229 to make Middlesex bat again

A couple of loose balls from Naavya Sharma have been dispatched to the rope by Joe Phillips and Ben Charlesworth and the deficit at Lord's has ticked down to 187.

Zafar Gohar has been tossed the ball for the first time in this second innings and will bowl into this stiff breeze.

WICKETpublished at 15:39 BST 5 April

    Balderson b Harrison 30 (Northants 258 v Lancs 384 & 102-7)

That is a beautiful bit of leg spin.

Calvin Harrison was still shaking his head after a very close lbw shout earlier in the over against George Balderson which looked good but may have just been doing too much.

That one pitches well outside off to the left hander and turns sharply back in at the last moment to hit off stump.

  18. Innings overpublished at 15:38 BST 5 April

Brookes lbw Andersson 35 (Derbys 625-8 dec v Worcs 276-7)

Martin Andersson can do no wrong in this game.

A double century in Derbyshire's first innings and now a wicket to go with it as Ethan Brookes plays across the line and is lbw.

Derbyshire will be pressing hard for the last three now in the hope of putting Worcestershire in again before the close.

  20. Postpublished at 15:38 BST 5 April

    Somerset 347 & 12-1 v Notts 338

Notts applying plenty of pressure early-on and Somerset have amassed just 12 runs from the opening seven overs.

Just three runs came in 21 balls after James Rew replaced Josh Thomas at the crease before Rew clipped Olly Stone to deep square leg for a couple.
