    Hants 214 v Notts 225-9

Josh Tongue clips Sonny Baker into the legside and opts to take a second run.

The England pacer almost lives to regret that decision as he pops the next ball just over the head of short leg. Single.

The Notts lead is a mere 11.

    Essex 7-0 - target 101

Far too much width, and too short as well, from Ian Holland, allowing Dean Elgar to thump it away for four, the first runs of his innings.

  3. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 131-5 v Northants 127

Ben Sanderson is bowling round the wicket to James Bracey - who leaves the ball alone for now.

He plays the second ball though - cutting it through point for four.

There was a bit of away swing there.

He pushes a single into the off side to move to 48.

Two more to Bancroft pushed through cover and that's the 100 partnership between this pair off 170 balls.

  4. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 17 May

    Lancs 146-3 v Worcs 270

Nice on drive from Keaton Jennings races away to the boundary to see Jennings move into the sixties.

  5. Postpublished at 14:20 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 115-7

Brilliant piece of fielding from Will Luxton.

Too much width on offer this time from Jhye Richardson and Josh Blake crunches towards point but a diving Luxton prevents four runs.

That sums up Yorkshire's day in the field up nicely - they are all contributing to a high standard today.

  6. LPW survives Baker hat-trick ballpublished at 14:20 BST 17 May

    Hants 214 v Notts 222-9

Josh Tongue survives the final two balls of the Delano Potgieter over.

It sets up a hat-trick ball for Sonny Baker after dismissing Fergus O'Neill and Olly Stone at the end of hios previosu over.

He steams in and is on the money, but Liam Patterson-White is right behind it, solid in defence.

    Essex 3-0 - target 101

    Almost.

Ben Green goes right through Paul Walter with a good one, but it just misses off stump.

Walter responds with a firm on-drive but is denied runs by a good diviing stop.

    Maiden.

  8. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 135-3

Jack Leaning gets off the mark off his 16th ball, scooping a leg stump delivery from Lewis Gregory round the corner - and Tom Lammonby does well to keep that to a single.

Leaning was dropped at slip on 0 shortly after lunch this afternoon.

He picks up a four in the next over, clipping Migael Pretorius through mid wicket.

  9. Postpublished at 14:17 BST 17 May

    Lancs 138-3 v Worcs 270

Michael Jones drives through cover towards the long boundary at Southport but it doesn't quite have the legs and he has to scamper through to make three.

  10. Postpublished at 14:16 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 123-5 v Northants 127

James Bracey tries to stroke Harry Conway through the gap in the off side but there's no run.

An appeal for a leg side catch by keeper Lewis McManus but that's not given. Thigh pad only.

  11. Postpublished at 14:16 BST 17 May

    Essex 3-0 - target 101

No major alarms for Essex in Ian Holland's opening over.

Paul Walter clips his first delivery down to long leg for a couple and then adds a single.

There is still some movement there for the seamers, though.

  12. Postpublished at 14:13 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 129-3

Expensive over from Migael Pretorius - twice driven through the off side for four by Dan Hughes and he also bowls a no ball.

    11 off the over altogether.

  13. Postpublished at 14:13 BST 17 May

    Yorkshire 486 v Surrey 115-7

Josh Blake drops one into the off side and decides to take the run - trusting Sean Abbott to see through five deliveries from Jack White.

Abbott negotiates the rest of the over well for five dot balls.

  14. Postpublished at 14:12 BST 17 May

    Essex 0-0 - target 101

When we began the day's play, Essex were 281-8 in their first innings.

We've had 12 wickets in 31.4 overs since then.

Will this be a 'walk in the park' for Essex, or can the Leicestershire attack produce a similar 'demolition job' to the one done by the home side in their second innings?

No tail-enders at the top of the order this time. It's Dean Elgar and Paul Walter.

    Stone lbw b Baker 0 (Hants 214 v Notts 216-9)

    Two in two balls!

No footwork whatsoever as Olly Stone is pinned bang in front, first ball, by Sonny Baker who doesn't even bother to look back for a decision. Plumb.

He'll have to wait for his hat-trick attempt as that was the final ball of his over.

Baker's England team-mate Josh Tongue joins Liam Patterson-White.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Cameron Bancroftpublished at 14:12 BST 17 May

    Gloucs 154 & 119-5 v Northants 127

Ben Sanderson bowls wide outside off stump to Cameron Bancroft, who follows it and misses.

A very rare wide from the Northants bowler.

A forcing shot off the back foot brings Bancroft his fourth four and 50 off 104 balls.

That's his third 50 of the season.

Four more laced through cover point.

  17. Postpublished at 14:12 BST 17 May

    Middx 177 & 114-3 v Derbys 376

Leus du Plooy carves a ball from Shoaib Bashir backward of point for four. It was uppish but he gets away with it.

WICKETpublished at 14:09 BST 17 May

    O'Neill b Baker 13 (Hants 214 v Notts 216-8)

    Another for Sonny Baker!

A super quicker balls jags in and hits the top of Fergus O'Neill's off-stump, sending it cartwheeling out of the ground.

No finer sight for a paceman and Baker has 3-41.

  19. Postpublished at 14:07 BST 17 May

    Somerset 526-8 dec v Sussex 126-3

Lovely stroke through the off side from Dan Hughes, who smacks a wide ball through extra cover off Migael Pretorius for four.

He's beaten outside the off stump next ball though and there is a bit in the pitch for the Somerset attack.

Four more driven neatly through cover point.

  20. Nottinghamshire move into first-innings leadpublished at 14:06 BST 17 May

    Hants 214 v Notts 216-7

Fergus O'Neill takes on a short ball from Delano Potgieter and pulls it for two runs to take the visitors into the lead.

How many more can they add? Runs will have to come fairly quickly if the defending champions are to force a result in this weather-affected match.

Sonny Baker is back into the attack with eight overs still remaining before the second new ball is offered.
