    Warks 197-9 v Essex - lead by 182

Ethan Bamber gets down on one knee and sweeps Simon Harmer.

Dean Elgar dives over the top of the ball and it runs for four. Not so good.

Nathan Gilchrist edges Sam Cook low past where third slip would have been and gets off the mark with a boundary to third man.

Gilchrist adds a single before a Bamber edge drops just short of the slips.

    The lead is 182.

Four leg byes for Lancashire after Josh Bohannon looks to glance a loose delivery from Will Williams down to fine leg.

Sam Robson picks up four off Liam Guthrie and Middlesex are in front with just one wicket down.

  4. 'Enough encouragement for Dawson'published at 18:01 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 116-3 - target 287

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

I think there's enough encouragement for Liam Dawson to bowl until the end.

I think if the swap does come it'll be Baker for Abbott for maybe a couple.

I'd keep Liam Dawson on for a little while.

  5. Postpublished at 17:58 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 115-3 - target 287

James Rew is looking to put the pressure back on Liam Dawson but he misjudges a reverse sweep which ends up being a dot ball.

I think Dawson felt he got his man there but Rew played the ball against himself rather than on to his own wicket.

  6. Five-wicket haul for Sam Cookpublished at 17:56 BST 19 April

    Barker c Pepper b Cook 11 (Warks 188-9 v Essex - lead by 173)

Essex are just one wicket from batting again this evening as Sam Cook completes his 15th first-class five-for.

Keith Barker hangs his bat out to dry a little to a ball which moved away late and feathers an edge through to Michael Pepper behind the stumps.

You get a feeling the eventual chase won't be easy.

  7. 'Cracking wicket'published at 17:55 BST 19 April

    Warks 190 & 188-8 v Essex 205

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

Huge wicket that was by the captain Sam Cook.

There's generous applause here for the highest scorer of the game so far with 91 but Beau Webster has just caressed a beautiful shot through the offside through extra cover and then with the very next ball a great reply from Sam Cook.

He's kept it pitched up, he's bowled it a little bit straighter and he's been castled.

It looked to me it just angled in but that is a cracking wicket by the captain of Essex in this game.

  8. Postpublished at 17:54 BST 19 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 20-1 - target 202

Following a sticky start at the crease, Lancashire's Josh Bohannon has settled well and is looking to take the attack to Gloucestershire.

He swats a wide one towards the vacant square leg boundary to move onto 13 not out.

  9. Postpublished at 17:54 BST 19 April

Middlesex 65-1 - trail Northants by three

Huge celeb appeal from Liam Guthrie as he thinks Max Holden has got a tickle on that down the legside through to wicketkeeper Lewis McManus.

    Nothing doing.

Holden responds by belting the next ball square through the legside for four, and then runs three to go to 16 and reduce the deficit to just three.

  10. Postpublished at 17:52 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 112-3 - target 287

James Rew plays a lovely reverse sweep into the ground for four more and moves onto 44 not out.

Moments later, there is a huge appeal, and Liam Dawson thinks Rew has edged behind to Ben Brown but umpire Middlebrook is completely unmoved.

    Not out.

  11. Postpublished at 17:48 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 105-3 - target 287

Kyle Abbott, around the wicket, beats the outside edge of James Rew's bat.

A good maiden over by the tall South African quicky.

WICKETpublished at 17:48 BST 19 April

    Webster b Cook (Warks 177-8 v Essex - lead by 162)

BIG blow delivered by Sam Cook.

Beau Webster guides Sam Cook's first ball through extra cover to move to 91 but then the bowler gets instant revenge.

Cook pitches it up and Webster tries to turn the delivery through the legside.

It angles back in and takes the middle stump out of the ground.

    Ethan Bamber joins Keith Barker.

He [Abell] and James Rew just having a chat no doubt about how to tackle Liam Dawson, whether to try and be a little bit more aggressive against him.

  14. Postpublished at 17:45 BST 19 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 13-1 - target 202

    Back-to-back boundaries for Josh Bohannon.

The second is a back-foot punchy drive through the off side to give Will Williams something to think about.

Williams' immediate reply is a good one, and goes straight through Bohannon, but also goes over the top of off stump.

  15. Postpublished at 17:43 BST 19 April

    Warks 173-7 v Essex - lead by 158

A quicker ball from Simon Harmer catches Keith Barker on the glove. It pops up but drops safe.

Sam Cook returns for another spell, replacing Zaman Akhter.

An unusually quiet over as Beau Webster - on 87 - plays out a maiden.

Eighteen overs still scheduled this evening.

  16. 100 runs

100 up for Somersetpublished at 17:43 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 104-3 - target 287

Worked through the covers by Tom Abell for a single and it's 100 up for Somerset.

The following delivery from Liam Dawson is swept outside off-stump deliciously to the boundary by James Rew.

  17. Postpublished at 17:40 BST 19 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 5-1 - target 202

Edged from Keaton Jennings and the ball races away past gully region for Lancashire's first boundary of their second-innings.

  18. Postpublished at 17:38 BST 19 April

    Middlesex 55-1 - trail Northants by 13

A Sam Robson single brings up fifty for Middlesex for the loss of Josh de Caires.

Robson is finding his groove as he uppercuts Liam Guthrie past gully for four to go to 30.

The new bowler looks like he's still trying to find his rhythm, however.

  19. 'All eyes on tomorrow'published at 17:36 BST 19 April

    Northants 409 v Middlesex 341 & 50-1

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London commentator

It's all pretty much where we were pacing it as to how it might play out.

It's all eyes on tomorrow. Can Middlesex get any sort of position whatsoever that they might be able to defend a total if bowled out?

  20. Postpublished at 17:34 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 96-3 - target 287

Big appeal from Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson but Tom Abell - who had been struck on he pads - had come a long way down the wicket.

Not out. Think it was a good call. Certainly the safe one.
