  1. Essex begin chase of 206published at 18:38 BST 19 April

    Essex 2-0 - Target: 206

Essex stand-in skipper Sam Cook sends himself out as nightwatchman with Dean Elgar as the visitors face an awkward four overs before stumps.

Ethan Bamber opens with a big wide and doesn't make Cook play until the fourth legal ball.

Cooks guides a wide final ball down to point and scampers a single to keep the strike.

100 up for Middlesexpublished at 18:34 BST 19 April

    Middlesex 106-1 - lead Northants by 38

Sam Robson plays out a maiden to slowie Calvin Harrison.

The light meter is out for a third time but the umpire gives the thimbs up. For now at least.

Lovely stuff from Max Holden as back-to-back boundaries off Luke Procter take him to 41.

Still 11 overs remaining in theory.

  3. 'Abell and Rew stand firm'published at 18:32 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 139-3 - target 287

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Well, I didn't think at this time yesterday that Somerset would be within a serious chance of winning this game of cricket.

The only potential winners looked like Hampshire when they went in overnight at 146-1.

They made a stuttering start gifting two wickets with top-edged pool shots from Archie Vaughan and Tom Lammonby but the old firm of Tom Abell and James Rew stood firm.

As long as they're together, Somerset will have high hopes.

  4. WARWICKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 220published at 18:26 BST 19 April

    Gilchrist b Snater 17 (Warks 220 v Essex - lead by 205)

Shane Snater returns and finally removes the stubborn last-wicket pair.

He finds some nice swing in and lifts Nathan Gilchrist's off-stump clean out the ground. A nice cameo of 17.

Snater finishes with 3-15 and Essex will need 206 to win.

    This game is beautifully poised.

WICKETpublished at 18:26 BST 19 April

    Harris lbw M Taylor 0 (Gloucs v Lancs 46-3 - target 202)

    BIG, BIG WICKET.

It hasn't been the Australian left-hander's match.

Matt Taylor angles one in and it strikes Marcus Harris on the pads in front and he has to walk for a duck.

  6. Close of play at Southamptonpublished at 18:25 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 139-3 (target 287)

A terrific last hour and a half for Somerset who have turned this match back towards their favour once more. They need another 148 to win.

    Warks 220-9 v Essex - lead by 205

What a hit from the number 11!

Nathan Gilchrist takes a step down the wicket and calmly lifts Simon Harmer back over the spinner's head for six over long on.

It takes the Bears' lead past the magic 200 mark.

How magic that mark will be is yet to be seen, of course.

  8. Postpublished at 18:23 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 138-3 - target 287

Final over of the day at Hampshire.

With the second ball, Tom Abell drives the ball to deep cover for a couple.

Somerset's target is now within another 150 runs.

    Middlesex 89-1 - lead Northants by 21

Sam Robson eases Luke Procter for four more and brings up the fifty paertnership with Max Holden.

It's come off 92 balls and is quietening this game down.

Robson needs three more for his first fifty of the season.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:20 BST 19 April

    Bohannon b Bell 31 (Gloucs v Lancs 45-2 - target 202)

    Now then...

Gabe Bell angles one in which Josh Bohannon completely misjudges and the ball goes crashing into middle and off.

Good work from Bell who claims a wicket-maiden - Marcus Harris comes to the crease for Lancashire.

  11. Postpublished at 18:19 BST 19 April

    Warks 213-9 v Essex - lead by 198

The Bears' last-wicket pair added 45 in the first innings and this stand is up to 30.

They could turn out to be very big runs.

A beauty from Sam Cook and Ethan Bamber can get nowhere near it.

Bamber then runs the next ball down to third man for a single. Nathan Gilchrist runs a leg bye of the final ball to keep the strike.

  12. 'Nobody affected Gloucs with new ball'published at 18:19 BST 19 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 45-1 - (target 202)

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol commentator

For the early stages we saw Gloucestershire really against the new ball.

Whilst they've lost some wickets in doing so - and especially getting any sort of start on this pitch - nobody's really affected that.

Wells gave it a try and then planted one to mid-on and that's the danger with that.

Tom Abell plays another good length ball by Eddie Jack well on the front foot for no run.

Two overs remaining in the day at Hampshire.

Less than three overs remaining in the day at the Utilita Bowl.

Tom Abell works a couple into the leg side for Somerset.

This fourth-wicket partnership is frustrating the hosts right now.

  15. Warks lead nearing 200published at 18:15 BST 19 April

    Warks 211-9 v Essex - lead by 196

A determined chase and dive on the third man boundary rope saves a run as Ethan Bamber adds three priceless runs.

Simon Harmer in and gives it some air and Bamber slog sweeps it in the vacant area behind square for four more to go to 17.

A paddle around the corner brings a single and the lead is 196.

    Nine overs left today.

  16. Postpublished at 18:11 BST 19 April

    Gloucs v Lancs 43-1 - target 202

A wild swipe from Josh Bohannon finds the top edge and goes over the slip cordon for four.

Slightly out of character from Bohannon who has looked assured at the crease so far but he now moves onto 30 not out.

  17. Postpublished at 18:09 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 128-3 - target 287

James Rew isn't done yet after reaching that half-century.

He flicks a leg-stump delivery by Eddie Jack comfortably off his pads to fine-leg for four.

Runs are flowing now for Somerset.

  18. 'Essex should take mid-wicket'published at 18:08 BST 19 April

    Warks 190 & 201-9 v Essex 205

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

Essex could have a third man which they've got, a very square third man.

I would take mid-wicket or mid-on and I'd put him in backward point.

I don't need the batsman having an easy single on that offside.

    Shot.

Josh Bohannon creams a full delivery from Matt Taylor around the wicket through the covers for a terrific four runs for Lancashire.

Take some of that. Bohannon moves onto 24 not out.

50 for James Rewpublished at 18:06 BST 19 April

    Hants v Somerset 121-3 - target 287

James Rew sweeps Liam Dawson firmly past deep backward square to move onto 49 not out.

Two balls later, another sweep shot, brings up a single and thus a 14th first-class half-century.

A really, really good knock from the in-form Rew.
