  1. Woakes and Smith wrestling things back for Bearspublished at 16:29 BST 10 April

    Sussex v Warwickshire 223-6

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

An excellent century partnership for the seventh wicket in just 19 overs between Chris Woakes and Kai Smith has wrestled the initiative back for Warwickshire.

Coming together when Sussex were in complete control the pair appear to have decided that attack is the best form of defence, playing shots all around the ground.

This looks a very good pitch with good pace and carry, and having won the toss Warwickshire are starting to justify their decision to bat first.

  2. Postpublished at 16:28 BST 10 April

    Surrey 286-3 v Leics

Jamie Smith has probably earned a bit of luck. He edges off Rehan Ahmed and it flashes down to third man for four. Another eight runs off the over for Surrey and they continue to motor towards a second batting point.

  3. Postpublished at 16:27 BST 10 April

    Glos v Durham 341-2

Glos ended the second session with the fearful sight of David Bedingham stroking his first boundary of the innings.

If the South Africa batter catches fire alongside Ben McKinney, Durham could hit 500 by the end of play!

  4. 50 runs

50 for Calvin Harrisonpublished at 16:26 BST 10 April

    Kent v Northants 303-1

The Northants number three is quickly up and running after tea as he runs one out through the covers to complete a half-century in only 55 balls.

Five fours and two sixes in that and he looks in the mood for plenty more.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 279published at 16:22 BST 10 April

    Haynes c Carlson b Hadley 100 (Notts 279 all out v Glamorgan)

It's 100 and out for Jack Haynes.

He tries to go big off Ryan Hadley through the covers but instead sends it down the throat of Kiran Carlson on the boundary, who makes no mistake with the catch.

And that brings to an end a topsy-turvy Nottinghamshire innings, who have done well to get to 279 in truth, having been 103-6.

A fine bowling display from Glamorgan, even if it could have been better.

    That will be tea.

  6. Postpublished at 16:21 BST 10 April

    Surrey 272-3 v Leics

We've resumed at The Oval and Surrey carry on where they left off with nine runs off the over from Ajaz Patel.

  7. Tea at Headingleypublished at 16:20 BST 10 April

    Yorks v Hants 237-8

No doubt which of the two dressing rooms will be the happier as they walk from the wicket at the end of the middle session with Yorks taking 6-155 since lunch.

George Hill has been the pick of the bowlers with 4-44 but there have been useful contributions from Dom Bess, Jack White and particularly Ben Coad who bowled better than one wicket would suggest.

Still, for Hants, where there is Jake Lehmann there is hope and the Australia domestic player of the year (in Sheffield Shield competition) is unbeaten on 70.

  8. Postpublished at 16:19 BST 10 April

    Notts 279-9 v Glamorgan

Dillon Pennington chips in with a valuable four off Zain ul Hassan. Every little helps at this point.

Can Notts get to 300 and rack up another batting point?

    Notts 275-9 v Glamorgan

    A crucial innings for Nottinghamshire.

Jack Haynes pushes to mid-on from Zain ul Hassan and scampers through for the quickest of quick singles to go to 100!

A 10th first-class century for Haynes and boy, did his side need that today. They were 38-3 when Haynes came to the crease and at one point, 103-6.

Quite the recovery, thanks in large part to Haynes.

  10. Postpublished at 16:13 BST 10 April

    Notts 274-9 v Glamorgan

Dillon Pennington survives the final four balls of Ryan Hadley's over and Jack Haynes will get another shot at reaching his century.

    Notts 274-9 v Glamorgan

A no-ball by Ryan Hadley and Jack Haynes runs through for another single off the bat to go with it and moves onto 99.

Haynes meets with number 11 Dillon Pennington in the middle of the track. The message, presumably is: "Don't get out."

  13. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:08 BST 10 April

    Essex 149 v Somerset 35-3

Somerset look to James Rew and Tom Abell to dig them out of a hole again.

The away side were very happy to reduce Essex to being all out under 150.

But Essex have bowled equally well, particularly their two experienced openers, Sam Cook and Jamie Porter.

Stand-in opener Jack Leach did not last long enough in place of Tom Kohler-Cadmore for Will Smeed to be guaranteed a bat in the first innings as his injury replacement.

He is en-route from the second XI friendly in Abergavenny still, how Somerset wish they had thought to arrange a friendly closer to Chelmsford with these new injury replacement rules.

  14. Postpublished at 16:07 BST 10 April

    Notts 271-9 v Glamorgan

Jack Haynes picks up a single off Timm van der Gugten and moves onto 98.

  15. Tea at Hovepublished at 16:07 BST 10 April

    Sussex v Warwickshire 223-6

The best partnership of the match (106*) from Chris Woakes and Kai Smith (both 52*) has dug Warwickshire out of a hole and increased the scoring such that there is a good chance of them managing at least one, maybe multiple batting bonus points, before their innings ends today or tomorrow.

Rob Yates, Beau Webster and Ed Barnard fell this afternoon to make it 117-6.

Sussex bowled very well in the morning session, but have tried eight different bowlers without avail against this partnership!

The century partnership came in less than 20 overs.

  16. Postpublished at 16:05 BST 10 April

    Kent v Northants 299-1

Captain Luke Procter leading by example for Northants.

Ricardo Vasconcelos may have departed for 127, but Procter goes on to his century as he hoicks Jayden Denly over the legside for four to complete a 155-ball century.

He has found excellent support from Calvin Harrison, who has raced to 48 and they have put on 75 in no time.

Kent have a long final session ahead of them.

  18. Tea at Old Traffordpublished at 16:03 BST 10 April

    Lancs 252-4 v Derbys

Lancashire's session for all that Derbyshire ended it with the big wicket of Marcus Harris.

The hosts have made best of good batting conditions to add 164-2 with Harris (125) and Michael Jones (42 not out) sharing a 95-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Fair play to Derbys who have kept plugging away but too many four balls have rather spoiled things as Lancs have climbed to a first batting point.

    Tongue c Tribe b Hadley 6 (Notts 270-9 v Glamorgan)

Another one goes and that will be maximum bowling points for Glamorgan!

Josh Tongue flashes at one outside off stump from Ryan Hadley and it flies off the edge to Asa Tribe at slip, who takes the catch.

Just one more needed to bring this Notts first innings to a close.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:59 BST 10 April

    Harris c Montgomery b Aitchison 125 (Lancs 252-4 v Derbys)

Matthew Montgomery and Brooke Guest nearly get in a tangle at slip and wicketkeeper, ending up in each other's position on the turf.

But the ball is firmly held by the former and Marcus Harris is gone on the stroke of tea and Ben Aitchison claims the wicket.
