    Burns c Holland b Scriven 24 (Surrey 42-2 v Leics)

    Big wicket!

It's full and fast from Tom Scriven as it swings in towards the pads of Rory Burns.

Burns tries to flick through the leg side but can only spoon it straight to Ian Holland at mid-wicket.

An absolute dolly and from looking in complete control, Burns has thrown his wicket away.

    Yorks v Hants 26-1

Big appeal from Jack White and Yorkshire for an inside edge off Tom Prest's bat but the umpire, and as a result the batsman, remain unmoved.

It was a confident shout and a well choreographed appeal with everyone going up in unison (straight from the training ground that), but replays suggest that might have flicked the top of his back pad.

    A good decision.

    Notts 60-3 v Glamorgan

Joe Clarke is finding his feet nicely.

It's not too bad a ball from Andy Gorvin but Clarke steps across to punch away through the leg side for four.

Barely seemed to hit that. All in the timing. Wonderful stuff. Clarke picks up another two to end the 12th over.

Ben Green is into the attack for Leicestershire as Josh Hull takes a breather and completes his second over.

Decent line and length so far with just a couple from those first two.

Steady stuff from Surrey so far with Rory Burns on 23* and Jamie Smith 8* after 14 overs.

    Sussex v Warwickshire 22-2

Fynn Hudson-Prentice glinting slightly in Hove sunshineImage source, Shutterstock

Ollie Robinson and Fynn Hudson-Prentice have bowled six miserly overs each.

FHP phenomenally has only gone for four runs off six overs!

Superb stuff from an allrounder few would have had down to take the new ball. No Nathan McAndrew, Jayden Seales or Sean Hunt who all took it at different times alongside the skipper last campaign.

Henry Crocombe is another contender for the new ball, after taking nine wickets at Grace Road last week, he replaces his skip for the 13th.

    Glos v Durham 62-0

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham were put in this morning and have already reached 50-0 inside 12 overs, with openers Ben McKinney and Alex Lees going nicely.

From where I am sitting - on the third floor - it looks a decent track to bat on and I am wondering if Cameron Bancroft is now re-thinking his decision at the toss.

Gloucestershire lost six seamers in the winter and from what I have seen so far, the bowling appears a tad blunt.

The morning gloom has burned off and we have sunshine in Bristol but there are some heavy showers forecast later today.

Durham won on their last visit here in 2023, but that remains their only championship victory in Bristol in seven attempts.

  7. 50 runs

50 up for Nottspublished at 11:52 BST 10 April

    Notts 50-3 v Glamorgan

Lovely shot from Joe Clarke as he clips through mid-wicket for four off Andy Gorvin, who is into the attack in place of Ryan Hadley.

And with that, it brings up the 50 for Nottinghamshire.

  8. Postpublished at 11:51 BST 10 April

    Essex 23-2 v Somerset

No Alfie Ogborne in this game surprisingly, but Miggy Pretorius is turned to as the first change for Somerset.

He only goes for one run off his first two overs as Somerset continue to dominate Essex without getting as many wickets as they will feel they deserve.

Jake Ball has continued into a seventh over though, he has 2-11 in probably his best opening spell for Somerset since he joined the club.

Kent need to improve on their bowling still, leaking too many runs and too many bad balls. Got to be tighter with lines and lengths otherwise it could be a similar story to last season. Come on Kent!

    Harry, London

You might have a very valid point, Harry. Northamptonshire are 58-0 after 12 overs in that one at Canterbury in Division Two.

    Lancs 31-2 v Derbys

    Marcus Harris playing for Lancashire

Marcus Harris's Victoria were the regular season table-toppers in the Sheffield Shield but lost the final to South Australia at the back end of last month.

Harris made 40 and 35, not enough, as it happened, to prevent SA winning by 56 runs but he looks like a player who is in recent, decent nick here whipping a boundary off his legs as Ben Aitchison gets one too straight.

Lancs will be hoping there is no dimming in the power of Harris who averaged a fraction over 60 for Lancs last season in Division Two hitting 1027 runs in 10 appearances.

Northants are flying at Canterbury with openers Ricardo Vasconcelos and Luke Procter bringing up their 50 partnership away to Kent, rolling along at over five an over as they sit at 57-0.

Durham are keeping up with that, though, feasting on some poor Gloucestershire bowling. They have reached 54-0 with Ben McKinney's 28 made up of seven boundaries.

A lot more watchful at Lord's where Worcestershire are 29-1 against Middlesex in the 12th over, digging in after the early loss of Jake Libby.

  12. Postpublished at 11:47 BST 10 April

    Notts 46-3 v Glamorgan

Jack Haynes is off the mark for Notts, as he edges outside off stump from Timm van der Gugten and down to third man for four.

  13. 'Defending champions brought down to earth'published at 11:46 BST 10 April

    Notts 42-3 v Glamorgan

    Dave Bracegirdle
BBC Radio Nottingham commentator at Trent Bridge

Not the return to headquarters that Nottinghamshire were hoping for.

The defending champions have been brought down to earth in spectacular fashion inside the first 35 minutes of their first home match.

Openers Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater each out without scoring and Ben Duckett’s bright and breezy 25 from 27 balls – which included three or four chips dangerously close to fielders – has the visitors with the early advantage.

  14. Postpublished at 11:44 BST 10 April

    Notts 42-3 v Glamorgan

A strong over ruined for Ryan Hadley as Joe Clarke picks up a boundary off the last ball to prevent a maiden, rocking back and pushing through the covers for four.

Notts need to try and steady the ship here. More shots like that will help.

  15. Postpublished at 11:43 BST 10 April

    Surrey 35-1 v Leics

Rory Burns leading the way as he so often does for Surrey.

Looking in good nick as he flicks away for four through the leg side from Josh Hull.

    And he's onto 21*.

Listening to the comms team for Glos Vs Durham discussing club cricketers at Glos and wondering are there enough routes to County Cricket for good club cricketers so counties can lessen reliance on short-term contracts for imported players (across all formats of the game too)?

WICKETpublished at 11:36 BST 10 April

    Mousley c Clark b Hudson-Prentice 1 (Sussex v Warwickshire 12-2)

Two in quick succession from the cash-strapped Sussex.

Great to see the lads on the pitch giving the members something to be positive about, particularly back at home in this second round.

Second slip Tom Clark dives low to his left to cling on from a white-ball type poke, flirt outside off, with little foot movement from Dan Mousley and Fynn Hudson-Prentice strikes.

And just like that, Ben Duckett is gone!

He looks to clip through the leg side off Timm van der Gugten but it takes a big leading edge.

It loops over Andy Gorvin's head at extra cover but he manages to stumble back and take a catch as he's going down.

Glamorgan are ripping through the top order. Division One? Easy so far apparently.

    Surrey 29-1 v Leics

Surrey are keeping things ticking since losing Dom Sibley early doors.

It's with the bat where they normally do their best work and they will look to try and do just that this morning.

  20. Postpublished at 11:33 BST 10 April

    Notts 38-2 v Glamorgan

An expensive over from Ryan Hadley with 11 from it.

Hadley has the big wicket of Ben Slater to his name but has gone for 28 runs from his opening three overs.
