  1. Postpublished at 11:45 BST 3 May

    Hants 77-2 v Glam 536-7d

Decent over from Jamie McIlroy but not much luck.

The Glamorgan seamer has a big shout for lbw against Tom Prest which may have just been an umpire's call on where it pitched.

As left-arm over he just needed it to pitch an inch over.

He follows it with a no-ball then gets an inside edge which squirts to square leg.

The batters are under pressure here.

  2. 'The perfect delivery'published at 11:44 BST 3 May

    Hants 75-2 v Glam 536-7d

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It was the perfect delivery again by Timm van der Gugten, it made Nick Gubbins play at it, it straightened and it caught the outside edge of the bat.

It was just the right length, it just nibbled off the pitch.

    Both openers have gone now.

  3. Sibley reaches 10,000 first-class runspublished at 11:43 BST 3 May

Surrey 331-3 (trail Sussex by 27 runs)

Prior to that Pope wicket, Dom Sibley brought up a personal landmark - 10,000 first-class runs.

He clipped Henry Crocombe to the square-leg boundary to reach five figures. He's achieved it from 24,301 balls, at an average of 41.14.

The very essence of digging in.

  4. 'Pope will be disappointed'published at 11:41 BST 3 May

    Surrey 329-3, trail by 29

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

I think Ollie Pope was disappointed because his hands went slightly towards it, he was probably thinking that was one he might have let go.

Even though Ollie Pope has gone for the 39, I think his disappointment will be he started beautifully this morning and he probably thought there would be runs to be had.

It was a nice bit of bowling by Ollie Robinson, it's what Sussex needed.

  5. Postpublished at 11:38 BST 3 May

    Leics 257-8 v Notts 490

Steve Eskinazi is getting some treatment after wearing one rising ball in the ribs from Lyndon James which looks painful.

But he can take comfort from the fact that he and Ajaz Patel have broken a record for the ninth wicket (109) against Notts which has stood for 99 years.

As arcane stats go that is right up there. World class, in fact.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:38 BST 3 May

    Gubbins c Cooke b van der Gugten 38 (Hants 75-2 v Glam 536-7d)

Nick Gubbins is foxed by a delivery from Timm van der Gugten which just leaves him playing inside.

Not quite enough though and the edge flies to Chris Cooke.

    Glam are making inroads.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:37 BST 3 May

    Pope c Clark b Robinson 39 (Surrey 329-3, trail by 29)

    Ollie Robinson removes Ollie Pope!

It's not a great shot from the England batter, dangling his bat to a ball on fourth stump line that moves away slightly and he nicks it to Tom Clark at slip.

Pope immediately looks frustrated as he trudges off. He knows he shouldn't have played at that.

  8. McKinney can't convert this timepublished at 11:33 BST 3 May

    Middlesex 430 v Durham 159-2

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I had just written about Ben McKinney's great conversion rate in turning 50s into 100s. But he won't be doing it today.

Having got to 50 he was out a few moments later for 58, in an over in which Ryan Higgins caused him a few issues.

He could have been bowled on 54 when a thick inside edge just missed his stumps and ran away for four. But he then edged behind to end his partnership with Emilio Gay at 133.

It's been a good spell from Higgins, who is bowling a real nagging length and asking questions of the batters.

Gay has 81 and has just been joined by David Bedingham. They put on 290 against Lancashire on Monday.

  9. Division Two latestpublished at 11:32 BST 3 May

Kent have lost three quick wickets against Derbyshire to leave them 61-5. Sam Northeast was run out by Shoaib Bashir in the first over before Daniel Bell-Drummond and Ekansh Singh followed cheaply.

The hosts lead by 109 at Canterbury.

Middlesex seamer Ryan Higgins has removed Durham opener Ben McKinney for 58, but Emilio Gay is still there on 81. Durham are 159-2 in reply to Middlesex's first-innings 430.

Northants have lost George Bartlett for 54 against Worcestershire but they're still in a strong position on 397-6 and 91 ahead.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:32 BST 3 May

    Lyth c J. Rew b Overton 16 (Yorkshire 43-2, trail by 69 runs)

Craig Overton has struck again! Adam Lyth tries to drive and can only edge through to James Rew behind the stumps.

A great start for Somerset this morning.

Joe Root comes in, and is immediately off the mark first ball.

  11. Batting bonus point for Leicspublished at 11:31 BST 3 May

    Leics 251-8 v Notts 490

Who knows how important that batting point will be when the season washes up in September?

What is certain is that a bonus point did not look likely when Olly Stone was ripping the Foxes up on day two.

Credit to this pair – Steve Eskinazi and Ajaz Patel – who came together at 146-8.

  12. 'Lovely way for Patel to reach 50'published at 11:30 BST 3 May

    Leics 249-8 v Notts 490

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Ajaz Patel gets to 50 on his Foxes debut and it was a lovely way to get there, taking the areal route.

He wasn't prepared to let that one trouble him.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Ajaz Patelpublished at 11:29 BST 3 May

    Leics 249-8 v Notts 490

Ajaz Patel moves to his half century on his home debut for the Foxes with a four lifted back over the head of substitute James Hayes.

It has been something of a seat of the pants sort of innings with more than a few big swipes but it has been an entertaining knock.

Another big hit down the ground two balls later brings up the century partnership between Patel and Steve Eskinazi.

  14. Postpublished at 11:19 BST 3 May

    Leics 236-8 v Notts 490

Olly Stone with a big inswinger and an even bigger shout for lbw against Ajaz Patel. Nervy time for the Leics man as the umpire considers.

He decides it is swinging just a little too much and may have been going down leg side. Very close and could easily have been given.

  15. 50 runs

for Eskinazipublished at 11:16 BST 3 May

    Leics 228-8 v Notts 490

Stephen Eskinazi drops his bat on a Lyndon James delivery to nudge it towards mid off and runs through for a single.

This has been a decent effort from former Middlesex man who arrived at the crease after tea on day two with the Foxes 112-7.

His half-century has come in 123 balls and contained five fours and has been instrumental in helping Leics double that score.

  16. 'Overton strikes early'published at 11:16 BST 3 May

    Somerset 274 v Yorkshire 162 & 24-1

    Stephen Lamb
    BBC Radio Somerset

It may have been an expensive first over, but Craig Overton has struck early in his second.

A disappointing and rather slow walk back for Finlay Bean.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:14 BST 3 May

    Bean b Overton 12 (Somerset 274 v Yorkshire 162 & 24-1)

    Early breakthrough for Somerset!

Craig Overton gets one through Yorkshire opener Fin Bean and he's on his way cheaply.

Somerset still lead by 88, although Yorkshire do have a strong middle-order with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow to come.

  18. 'A perfect start for the Welsh county'published at 11:13 BST 3 May

    Hants 58-1 v Glam 536-7d

    Rob Phillips
    BBC Radio Wales commentator

    Glamorgan have struck early!

It's a perfect start for the Welsh county. Kiran Carlson said he thought it'd be a difficult day today to get wickets, but Timm van der Gugten, the old warrior, strikes again.

    He makes a crucial breakthrough.

  19. Postpublished at 11:12 BST 3 May

    Surrey 315-2 v Sussex 358-9 dec

A flurry of early boundaries to Ollie Pope has taken the England man up to 31 in quick time.

He's averaging north of 80 this season as he looks to win back his place in the Test side.

  20. 'Middle session will be at risk today'published at 11:10 BST 3 May

    Somerset 274 v Yorkshire 162 & 24-0

    Stephen Lamb
    BBC Radio Somerset

We're likely to get an interruption or two with the most risky session in that regard being the middle one. But we're just hoping with all the cloud that's around we don't get deluged on at any stage.
