I was skeptical when organisers were saying today would be packed out by Scotland fans, given this is a local game. It is still four hours to Edinburgh from Leeds.

But, despite that, there are plenty of Scotland fans in Headingley tonight. I have seen kilts.

Captain Kathryn Bryce starred with 60 runs (39 balls) and 2-19 while younger sister Sarah made 49 (35).

Scotland came agonisingly close to making it two wins from two against West Indies on Thursday but lost by seven runs.

They restricted Hayley Matthews' side to 85-5 in the 15th over before Stafanie Taylor smacked 47 (19) to carry them beyond 150. Although Darcey Carter made 59 (62) and Ailsa Lister struck 33 (25), Scotland fell short in their chase.

Scotland sit third in Group 2, two points outside the semi-finals.

England have made an unbeaten start to their quest for a second Women's T20 World Cup crown.

They began their tournament with a thumping 87-run win over Sri Lanka, Danni Wyatt-Hodge blasting an unbeaten 105 (62) to help England post a record total (219-1) in a women's T20 World Cup.

In Southampton on Tuesday, Charlotte Edwards' side won a low-scoring encounter with Ireland by four wickets.

Sophie Ecclestone picked up 3-22 as Ireland were restricted to 118-9 while captain Nat Sciver-Brunt anchored the chase alongside Heather Knight before retiring hurt.

England sit top of Group 2, level on points with West Indies but with a superior net run-rate.

England captain Charlie Dean: "We probably would've had a bat [if we'd won the toss]. It's a belting pitch.

"We've had some really good series previous to this World Cup. I feel like we're ready. Nat [Sciver-Brunt] is a huge loss for us.

"World Cup cricket is being the best cricketer on the day."

Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce after winning toss: "We're going to have a bowl first. It's a fresh pitch and I don't think it will change much.

"Pippa Sproul and Hannah Rainey are in, we're managing a couple of injuries.

"I think it's been good. It's a quick turnaround, you just have to park it and move on. There's a few things we did wrong in that last game, we'll be looking to improve today."
