I don’t think we know how to get these two out. In the first innings we relied on their batters making mistakes. Right now, Head and Carey are in total control.

Travis Head knocks Will Jacks into the leg side and takes a single - the one run of the over.

Five of the last six overs have been single run affairs.

Alex Carey has one run over that period, having faced 10 of the 36 balls.

The two local boys, Alex Carey and Travis Head are out here building a partnership.

England are persisting with this tactic bowling wide of off stump with a packed off-side field.

When Cameron Green came out, they bowled fuller through that channel, and it brought about a wicket.

This partnership moves to 70, as Travis Head guides Brydon Carse's delivery down to third.

We've had 80.2 overs today, so will be heading into the extra half hour as usual.

England have been low on resources today.

With Ben Stokes unable to bowl, they have leant on Will Jacks, who has been expensive.

The same formula for Brydon Carse's 13th over.

The opener faces five dot balls then gets a single off the final ball of the over, driving into the covers and running immediately.

England love chasing, maybe that's what they need to get into this series. But how many do they want to chase?

You feel England need another wicket here to stay in this game.

    Thanks Sam.

Will Jacks greets my return by bowling five dot balls, but Travis Head denies the England spinner a first maiden in 13 overs by whipping a single out to point.

Tidy enough over from Brydon Carse, who is back to replace Jofra Archer, but this Australia pair look so comfortable now.

That chance that Travis Head gave on 99 was such a rarity.

As I hand over to Mike Peter to take you through the remainder of the day's play, any talk of an England comeback has all but vanished.

Another hundred by the local boys. This south Australian crowd have been treated by the local players. A jittery 99, got dropped, but brought it up in typical Travis Head fashion down the ground. Another great hundred for Head.

If you're just waking up on Friday morning, Australia are firmly in control of the third Ashes Test in Adelaide.

They lead by 292 runs with six wickets still in hand, including that of opening Travis Head who has just brought up his second century of the series.

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer resumed from 213-8 overnight and ultimately added 106 for the ninth wicket, with both passing fifty.

Their rear-guard action ended with lunch in sight, as England closed on 286, a first-innings deficit of 85.

The tourists took a wicket of their own before the break, seeing Brydon Carse trap Jake Weatherald lbw for one, but Australia dominated the afternoon session.

The home side only lost one wicket between the intervals, when Marnus Labuschagne was caught by Harry Brook off the bowling of Josh Tongue, as Pat Cummins' side steadily built their lead.

Australia lost two quick wickets early in the evening session, seeing Usman Khawaja, with whom Head put on 86, and Cameron Green dismissed in consecutive overs.

But Head's partnership with first innings centurion Alex Carey now stands at 59, with Australia on their way to setting England a formidable fourth-innings target.

Fantastic. A brilliant player in brilliant form. He took England apart in the second innings in Perth. A different innings this one, but it's just as good.

He is cementing his place at the top of the order, he has been brilliant to watch in this series so far and he is not done yet.

The home favourite goes to his century in style, hitting Joe Root back over his head for four.

Top shot to bring up an 11th Test hundred and his fourth in a row at this ground.

But having been put down in that Jofra Archer over, he'll be glad to still be waiting rather than walking back the the pavilion.

Travis Head has crunched that. It would have been a brilliant catch by Harry Brook.

Very tough catch but Travis Head gets away with one!

A thick outside edge goes low to Harry Brook in a gully position but he can't quite hold on.

That went quickly but Brook would expect to take it.
