Green Bay Packers 3-0 Denver Broncos
Brandon McManus puts Green Bay ahead with a 53 yarder - of course playing up at Mike High increases the distance kickers can hit from, and not many people know that better than former Denver man McManus.

Tennessee Titans 3-7 San Francisco 49ers
Some great defence from the 49ers stops the Titans levelling up in San Francisco.
The visitors have three attempts at getting five yards to the end zone, but are forced back seven yards on first down and fail to make up for it on attempts two and three.
On fourth down, Joey Slye gets the field goal to go from 25 yards.

Carolina Panthers 7-0 New Orleans Saints
Carolina have the lead in New Orleans!
Rico Dowdle goes on another good run, looks to be stopped short just shy of the end zone, but is forcibly pushed to the end zone with the nose of the ball just creeping over the line before he is grounded.
Ryan Fitzgerald makes the kick to give the Panthers an extra point.

Detroit Lions 0-0 Los Angeles Rams
Wow! That's not something you see often.
Matthew Stafford has just been intercepted!
He is picked off by Aidan Hutchinson 25 yards from goal, with Hutchinson carrying the ball 58 yards before he is tackled to turn what was on course to be a Rams score into getting the Lions into the red zone.
Early victory for the Green Bay defence as RJ Harvey coughs up possession on a tackle from Micah Parsons, with Edgerrin Cooper picking up the fumble recovery as the Packers take over.
Rivers back in actionpublished at 21:36 GMT 14 December 2025

Indianapolis Colts 0-0 Seattle Seahawks
Philip Rivers completes his first pass in the NFL in five years, but just the one as the Colts have to punt after eight plays yielded just 27 yards.
Rivers was also knocked on his backside after his final pass attempt, which in one way will be good for him to feel like he's really back in the big time.
There wasn't much zip on his first few early passes though so Seattle's defence will be eyeing some interceptions today.

Philip Rivers says he 'thought that ship had sailed' after returning to the NFL.
Why, oh why, at 44 would you want to put yourself through the playing in the NFL again if you're veteran Philip Rivers, who was heading towards the Hall of Fame but now finds himself suiting up in Seattle.
Chargers fight back to beat Chiefs as Mahomes hobbles offpublished at 21:28 GMT 14 December 2025

FT: Los Angeles Chargers 16-13 Kansas City Chiefs
TV cameras show Patrick Mahomes being helped down the Arrowhead tunnel as Justin Herbert ices a hugely important victory for the Chargers.
Who knows if Mahomes could have mustered some magic in those final plays, but in truth, the Chiefs struggled for much of the day - and the season.
Even with Mahomes on the field, Kansas City failed to score a single point in the second half and could not prevent the Chargers fighting back from a 13-3 deficit late in the second quarter to clinch victory after 13 unanswered points.

Philip Rivers returns to the NFL at the age of 44.
Philip Rivers is 44 and retired five years ago, yet he's back in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts as they try and salvage their season.
Among the many, many problems with a quarterback as old and having had so many years away from the league, the trip to Seattle is hardly ideal.
The Seahawks fans are some of the loudest in the NFL and the team has one of the best defences around as well, so it could be a tough old return for Rivers tonight.

In a battle of the NFC South, the Carolina Panthers head to the New Orleans Saints to extend their lead at the top of the division.
The Panthers have had an indifferent season and start the night 7-6 for the season, but with a record that leads an NFC South that has been one of the weaker divisions.
Sitting at the bottom of that division are the Saints, who while they won last week, have a season record of 3-10.
A win for the Panthers would put them a win clear of rivals Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-7) who played on Thursday night.

The Tennessee Titans have an uphill task ahead as they travel to an in-form San Francisco 49ers side.
The Titans returned to winning ways last week, ending a seven-game losing run with victory over the Cleveland Browns last week, taking their season record to 2-11.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are 9-4 and have won each of their last three games, but are in a tough NFC West diving with the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.

Los Angeles Chargers 16-13 Kansas City Chiefs
Shucks, it's not meant to be.
Gardner Minshew goes towards Travis Kelce one time too many. The Chiefs tight end runs a route to the left and Minshew fires it towards him, but Chargers safety Derwin James is in the way to make a game-clinching interception.
The Chiefs will miss out on the play-offs for the FIRST TIME IN 11 SEASONS.
