  1. President Trump picks his winner... kind ofpublished at 22:14 GMT 8 February

He may not be attending this year but US President Donald Trump has had his say on the big game all the same.

And he's teased the public by claiming he would pick a winner before the video on his tweet on X cut out prematurely! Playing it safe I guess."I have a feeling this is going to be a great Super Bowl," Trump said in a post on X, external. "I've watched all season, I've seen these two teams just win, win, win. I see two great quarterbacks. Young, great quarterbacks. It's gonna be a fantastic Super Bowl. And everybody wants to hear who I pick. And I'll tell you what..."

    Then the video ended.

Stefon Diggs' partner Cardi B played at one of the many pre-game parties over the weekend, so what does he make of the choice of Bad Bunny for this year's half-time show?

"I'm super excited about Benito," he said. "I think it's going to be an experience we all should share, coming together at half-time.

"I wish I could be out there having a good time but I've got some other things I'm gonna have to focus on and stay ready for. I'll probably catch it after the game."

That's probably best Stefon. Small matter of the biggest game of your life to take care of.

  5. Could Bad Bunny set off political fireworks in half-time show?published at 22:08 GMT 8 February

Seattle Seahawks v New England Patriots (23:30 GMT)

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, who has been tapped as the Super Bowl headliner, has attracted an unprecedented level of criticism for his outspoken opposition to US immigration policy - with some even calling for his deportation, even though he is a US citizen.

It's not exactly new. Half-time performances have a history of sparking controversy - from Janet Jackson's infamous wardrobe malfunction in 2004, to the live debut of Beyoncé's Black Lives Matter anthem Formation in 2016.

But this year's show ignited debates before Bad Bunny - the most streamed artist in the world, who primarily performs in Spanish - even took the stage.

Republicans balked at his politics, with an Alabama senator dubbing it the "woke bowl". US President Donald Trump called Bad Bunny's selection "absolutely ridiculous," and the Speaker of the House summed it up as a "terrible decision".

The pushback even sparked a competing half-time event from conservative organisation Turning Point USA, which will air an "All American" counter-programme during Bad Bunny's set that will be headlined by Trump ally Kid Rock.

With tens of millions expected to tune into the performance, what Bad Bunny will do in front of the crowd is anyone's guess.

  6. All Seahawks in San Josepublished at 22:06 GMT 8 February

I've spent the last two days in San Jose close to the stadium and the vast majority of fans here are wearing Seahawks jerseys. At the pop-up store downtown ,almost all of the Seahawks merchandise has sold out. In the restaurant I was in on Friday and Saturday night, random 'Seahawks' chants could be heard at the bars.

On a walk yesterday I was surprised to see Seahawks GM John Schneider strolling past near the team hotel. He looked relaxed. With everything typically locked down during Super Bowl week, it was surreal to see such a high profile individual finding time to seemingly just enjoy the moment.

You can't blame Patriots fans for not travelling in numbers. Seattle is a short flight to the Bay Area, compared to the cross-country journey. The fans in Boston have also seen their team on the biggest stage so many times, you can understand why there's a projected 61-39 split expected in the stadium (and it could be more).

This is a far more unique opportunity for Seahawks fans, who are hoping for closure given what happened last time these two teams met in the Super Bowl 11 years ago.

  7. How much does a ticket cost?published at 22:05 GMT 8 February

Two Packers fans win tickets at the NFL DraftImage source, Getty Images

On Thursday, the cheapest resale ticket would have set you back $4,388 (£3,222).

According to our American partners over at CBS, external, if you wanted to go to the Super Bowl for less than four figures, you'd somehow get your hands on a $950 ticket, but they were in mega short supply. In fact, they're reserved for the National Football League itself and spread across all 32 teams.

The Seahawks and Patriots only got 12,450 tickets each for this.

If you've got cash to burn, StubHub were selling tickets behind Seattle's bench at more than $30,000 a pop on Wednesday.

It ain't cheap to watch the NFL's biggest game.

As for the picture? Those two lucky fans won tickets way back at the NFL Draft in Green Bay last April.

It's not just British fans over in Santa Clara tonight, but a British coach in Aden Durde who is the defensive coordinate of the Seattle Seahawks - who just happen to have the best defence in the entire NFL for points allowed.

    Can he make history tonight?

Look who we bumped into! I spotted this flag and had to go speak to these rival fans.

Paul Morgan and Tommy Reeves have made it all the way over from London. They got here yesterday and are heading back tomorrow so it's a flying visit for the big game.

Tommy started following the Patriots about 12 years ago while Paul has been a Seahawks fan for about the same length of time. He and a friend watched a Green Bay-Seattle game and picked a team each - and Paul's stuck with the Seahawks ever since.

With both teams doing well, Paul and Tommy said a couple of months ago that if both Seattle and New England reached the Super Bowl, they had to go. Now here they are, but how much did the tickets cost them?

Paul said "I can't say - my missus might be watching!!" But Tommy added they paid "the best part of £3,000" each.

Paul's backing the Seahawks to win 24-21, and Tommy reckons the Patriots 20-17.

We're on celebrity watch tonight and no doubt Jurassic Park and Guardians of the Galaxy lead actor Chris Pratt will be here.

He will be part of the pre-game introductions in Santa Clara and has always been a huge Seahawks fan.

Will we also get an appearance from Marvel co-star Chris Evans? Captain America is a Patriots guy.

Bad Bunny said he avoided the US on his current world tour because of concerns that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents would conduct raids on fans at his concerts.

There were fears there would be raids around the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend, plus further protests after two people were shot dead by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

But, speaking on Tuesday, the NFL's chief security officer Cathy Lanier said that no ICE operations are scheduled around any of the many Super Bowl events.

She added that the Department of Homeland Security sends a variety of different agencies to the Super Bowl, which it ranks as a tier-one event, and ICE is not one of them.

The gates opened up to fans at Levi's Stadium at 11:30 local time and hundreds of early bird fans have flooded through for the tailgate!

I'd say it's a 50/50 split of Seahawks to Patriots supporters so far and they're making for one massive atmosphere.

They're heading to the gates that lead right up to the stadium with a quick pit stop at the bars.

  17. Patriots hopes 'living on a prayer'?published at 21:51 GMT 8 February

The music puns keep coming folks...as we move away from Green Bay and focus on Jon Bon Jovi who will always be there for his beloved New England Patriots.

Expect the rock frontman to show up for the pre-game introductions in Santa Clara. He's a massive New England fan and a friend of owner Robert Kraft.

The Patriots are underdogs tonight but I'm sure JBJ is keeping the faith that his side can go out in a blaze of glory and avoid tasting the bad medicine of defeat, it won't be a bed of roses against this Seahawks defence though.

    Bad BunnyImage source, Getty Images

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny won album of the year at last Sunday's Grammy Awards and will be the first artist ever to perform the half-time show entirely in Spanish.

He's not a popular choice for the Trump administration as he has been critical of the president's immigration policies.

In fact, one conservative organisation has planned an alternative show during half-time - starring singer and Trump ally Kid Rock.

Not that Bad Bunny's concerned: "I know that the world is gonna be happy this Sunday - they're gonna have fun, and they're gonna dance and they're gonna have a good time."

Set your alarm for about 01:15 to see if he's right.
