Buffalo Bills 27-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Just 61 seconds left on the clock with the ball on the 26.

  2. Postpublished at 00:29 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 27-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Third down and about three yards to go for Denver, but they're well into four down territory here so even a short gain will do. They could even run it.

  3. Two-minute warningpublished at 00:27 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 27-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Nearly every game went down to the wire last week and this one's going the same way as we enter the final two minutes with the game so finely balanced.

It's first down and the ball is on the Buffalo 38 with Denver down by four and needing a touchdown to take the lead.

This is what play-off football is all about! Who wins from here? Let's have your thumbs going up for the Bills down for Broncos.

  4. Crucial catchpublished at 00:24 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 27-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Courtland Sutton has finally joined the game after just having a watching brief for most of the game until now, catching two ball in quick succession including this crucial third-down conversion as he gets open down the middle fo take a 23-yard catch on the Buffalo 38 to move the sticks.

This is your opportunity Bo Nix. You grow up hoping for this chance and you get to go against Josh Allen.

You're at home, you've done it all year, you're battle-tested... you've just got to believe in that right now.

  6. field goal

Field goal - Billspublished at 00:21 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 27-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Veteran Matt Prater nails a 31-yard field goal to give Buffalo a four-point lead with just over four minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

What can Bo Nix do here?

  7. Postpublished at 00:20 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 24-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Khalil Shakir runs into the end zone after a short pass but the ball hit the deck before he gathered it up - and he knows it as well as he's not got much of a poker face at the end of the run.

Not even the dodgy DRS during the Ashes would've given that as a catch..

As good as the Denver defence is, Josh Allen is getting opportunities and he'll get it together and see the Bills over the line

    Matt

Fair to say it's the Bills defence shining today, not the Broncos. Their offence keeps giving the ball away but the D limits Denver to field goals, it's given them a real chance.

  10. Buffalo drivingpublished at 00:15 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 24-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Buffalo moving the ball again as they get to the Denver 28 with a sixth successful tush push helping along the way.

I could go on for hours about how bad this play is and how it should be banned - just one point is full-back Reggie Gilliam coming into the game again with the sole purpose of giving Josh Allen a huge shove in the back when his momentum stalls.

It's just not football for me...

Josh Allen has been just electric in the fourth quarter this season, and he leads the NFL in all kinds of quarterback metrics in the final 15 minutes of games this season.

Here's the stats he leads all quarterbacks in this season, including last week's play-off game in his numbers.

Josh Allen fourth quarter stats this season:

    Total Yards: 1,569

    Total TDs: 18

    Pass Yards: 1,319

    Rush Yards: 250

    Rush TDs: 9

  12. Three and outpublished at 00:05 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 24-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Worst possible response from Denver as they're forced to punt after just three plays. Bo Nix saw his third-down pass tipped but it was heading pretty short of the marker anyway.

The Broncos are just fading away now as the Bills are seemingly growing in confidence the longer the game goes on. This next drive could have a massive influence on the outcome of the game.

We saw Josh Allen overcome the mental hurdle that happens when you're a quarterback and you turn the ball over in the post-season. Now it's Bo Nix's turn.

  14. Bo Nix has been handy in the fourth quarter though...published at 00:01 GMT 18 January

Buffalo Bills 24-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Denver Broncos tied the NFL record for victories in one-score games this season

The Denver season record of 14-3 may look comprehensive but that margin is pretty skewed.

All but three of those wins were within just one score - and in 12 of those games the Broncos were losing at some point.

Quarterback Bo Nix has come up clutch every time it's got niggly this season. But can he do it in the play-offs?

In the red zone, the ball's going to Dalton Kincaid. Josh Allen throws a perfect level-two ball where only his guy can catch it at the high point, and boy, did Kincaid do a great job there.

Watch out for the tight ends! It's Dalton Kincaid who takes the catch in the left corner of the end zone from a perfect Josh Allen pass.

That's a 19th fourth-quarter touchdown for Allen this season as the Bills come from 13 points down to lead in Denver.

    Cometh the hour.....

  17. Huge play!published at 23:56 GMT 17 January

Buffalo Bills 17-23 Denver Broncos - fourth quarter

Khalil Shakir with the biggest play of the game! He gathers a short pass over the middle and then slips between two tacklers and races away for a 46-yard gain.

Perfect start for the Bills who are on the Denver 14 and looking for a touchdown. Watch out for the tight ends.

Buffalo Bills 17-23 Denver Broncos - third quarter

Buffalo moving the ball nicely again - in truth they've not had too many problems actually moving the ball on offence, it's just the turnovers have killed them.

James Cook is going for almost six yards per carry and he's combined with Josh Allen for 136 rushing yards in total - when Denver's defence allowed under 100 per game during the season.

It looks pretty comfortable when Allen does this, especially lining up under centre - with either of his star tight ends avilable in the passing game when needed, but it's just about keeping focus now and not giving the ball away.

Here comes the fourth quarter and it's still anyone's game!

I think Denver have really shown that Bo Nix is that guy, he can go down and do it.

Bo Nix has shown he could handle the start of the game. Now this is the real test.

In the fourth quarter, as this game continues to get close, how you handle that, with your season on the line, Nix now has the opportunity to show he can do that too.
