  1. field goal

    Field goal - 49erspublished at 02:31 GMT 18 January

San Francisco 49ers 6-17 Seattle Seahawks - second quarter

They're creeping back into the game, and may have had more had Ricky Pearsall's diving catch stuck, but they still get three as Eddy Pineiro kicks a nice 56-yard field goal.

More decent stuff from Brock Purdy in incredibly tough conditions, and in fact the 49ers haven't done too bad overall, especially after such a rough start.

    This is devastating.

If you're the Broncos, you have to rally around Jarrett Stidham.

Can Sean Payton design a game plan for two games and roll with it?

Two big plays from Brock Purdy and both to Jake Tonges who is trying to make up for that earlier fumble with two first-down grabs.

  5. Great puntpublished at 02:17 GMT 18 January

San Francisco 49ers 3-17 Seattle Seahawks - second quarter

San Francisco force Seattle into a punt, but even the Seahawls punter Michael Dickson is right on his game as he launches a monster kick 51 yards down the field, with a huge hang time in allowing the coverage to pressure the returner into leaving the ball.

It takes a decent bounce and goes out of bounds at the San Francisco four so Brock Purdy will be in his own end zone if he tries to throw his way out of this one. And the crowd will get loud too.

  6. 'Speed, execution, intensity'published at 02:12 GMT 18 January

Defence is about speed, intensity and execution.

That's what you need to do - and that's what we're seeing from the Seahawks.

They attack, they're physical and their fundamentals are on point. That's why they hired head coach Mike Macdonald... to beat Kyle Shanahan.

San Francisco 49ers 3-17 Seattle Seahawks - second quarter

Eddy Pineiro gets San Francisco on the board with a 40-yard field goal after some excellent work from Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey to get some sort of momentum going for the 49ers.

  9. End of first quarterpublished at 02:02 GMT 18 January

San Francisco 49ers 0-17 Seattle Seahawks - first quarter

Phew! I've seen a lot of play-off football but not too many games have had a first quarter like that - it's loud, frenetic, hard-hitting and Seattle are totally dominant.

The 49ers have won seven consecutive divisional play-off games but that run is under severe threat here against the Seahawks - who have reached the Super Bowl every time they've finished as top seeds.

San Francisco 49ers 0-17 Seattle Seahawks - first quarter

San Francisco need something, anything, to try and settle into the game and at least make it a contest.

Giving Christian McCaffrey the ball on a nice screen pass for a first down like he's just done will help.

What a throw by Darnold on the run. This guy is unbelievable. His body control, his speed, his awareness. It doesn't get much better than that.

  12. touchdown

Sam Darnold rolls out to his left and then slings the ball into the end zone for a flying Jaxon Smith-Njigba to take a diving low catch in the corner of the end zone.

The league's best receiver shows exactly why as he showed his speed and his skill to score his first touchdown in seven games against San Francisco.

It's way too early to say this game is done but the Seahawks are laying it on their rivals so far - a kick return touchdown, a turnover and forcing crucial penalties.

Seattle pitching a perfect game so far.

Cooper Kupp takes a good sideline catch to convert on a second and 20, before a blatant pass interference penalty by the Niners gives Seattle the ball way down on the 13.

It's all going Seattle's way so far.

Great play by Malik Mustapha who charges right across the field to bring Sam Darnold down for a loss of 10 - not sure how Darnold didn't see the huge figure of Mustapha galloping after him but he took a heavy landing as well that won't help his injury.

  15. Fumble! Disaster for 49erspublished at 01:48 GMT 18 January

San Francisco 49ers 0-10 Seattle Seahawks - first quarter

Jake Tonges collects a pass as Brock Purdy looks for a fightback but the tight end gets the ball stripped from him by Ernest Jones and Julian Love picks up the loose ball for Seattle.

Absolutely everything going wrong for the Niners to start this game.

Something very minor to celebrate for the 49ers as they manage to keep Seattle out of the end zone after it looked like they'd just batter their way in.

When the Niners finally stop a run the drive stalls so Jason Myers runs out to kick a 31-yard field goal for a 10-point lead.

San Francisco 49ers 0-7 Seattle Seahawks - first quarter

Sam Darnold not showing any signs of that injury that's kept him out of practice this week - although he may only have to hand it off to Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker given how they've started this game.

Darnold is the only quarterback ever to win 14 games in back-to-back seasons with two different teams, but he's never won a play-off game and still has plenty of questions to answer after also leading the league in turnovers.

This Seattle defence has a British flavour to it...

Former London Warriors coach Aden Durde watched his Seattle team beat San Francisco 49ers 13-3 just two weeks ago to secure the NFC's top seed for the NFL play-offs.

Two more wins and there will be a British coach at Levi's Stadium on 8 February for the Super Bowl, one of the biggest games in world sport.

How did this trailblazer turn the Seahawks from one of the NFL's worst defences into a team that conceded the fewest points per game (17.5) in the regular season?
