By Week 8, I found I could learn a routine in two hours - the first week it took me five days
I would get a message from Karen on Sunday. Something like: "We are doing the salsa. Try this." And then she would do a few steps on video and I would spend Sunday night watching and re-watching the video to work them out.
Then we'd meet on Monday and I'd find I'd learnt them all back-to-front, but it wouldn't matter because on Monday Karen always brought cupcakes. By Week 8, I found I could learn a routine in two hours - the first week it took me five days.

Those judges simply can't resist a showstopping number, can they? That's why it's not surprising that they bought tickets to see Katie and Anton whirl back onto the dance floor with their Week 7 Quickstep!
This high energy stroll down Strictly Street won them 26 big ones (ahem, that's points to you and us), from the panel, and Anton's get his dapper get up out again as they raised their game to 31 points in the Final.

The judges' pick for Kellie and Kevin surely spread a warm feeling of nostalgia across the nation as the pair dug out the first dance of the entire series - their mod-inspired Tango!
It was clear from the start that Kellie and Kevin were true contenders for the glitterball trophy. Their quirky take on the typically moody ballroom dance was to be the first of many unexpected routines from Kevin.
And in the Final, going back to Week 1 paid dividends - earning the first perfect 40 of the series!

It seems someone from the judges' table is serious Bond fan, as they brought back Georgia and Giovanni's sensual Rumba for the Final.
And who could blame them? These two are dynamite together. This Week 3 film-inspired routine originally earned the couple 27 points, but the dancing pair, who had undeniable chemistry from the get go, have grown stronger and stronger each week, so it wasn't surprising when the judges gave them a far higher score of 36 tonight.

The judges' must feel like proud parents; they sent Jay and Aliona back to graduation from Strictly University to Quickstep all over again!
This ballroom number gave them a respectable 25 points in Week Four, and Jay's Strictly education saw him raise his mark to 36 in the Final!

"The tension that was on that dance floor!" Darcey says, loving how dramatic Katie's performance was. "You kept your poise and you kept your elegance."
"Anton, I never knew...!" Len gasps.
"It was historically accurate," historian Bruno proclaims. "Without stumbles, there would be no drama, so it carried the story! You gave it a good go."
"I really didn't take to it at all," Craig comments. "It was rigid, it was stiff... But you have done yourself proud."

"Well if Kevin's Ding Dong Daddy, you are the belle of the ball!" Len cries.

I generally film with EastEnders - from 7am until whenever I finish that day, sometimes 6pm, sometimes 2pm, and then I meet Kevin and we dance and dance until I can't stand up anymore. It's been exhausting, but I've never complained about it because I really wanted to do this, and I have really loved it. Kevin has been such a joy and I wouldn't change any of it.
