Tim & Ed have been brilliant [on snowboard commentary]. Their knowledge, passion and banter has made the commentary fantastic. They could read out a shopping list and make it fun to listen to. Well done guys

Jordan Stolz is a gold-medal winner.

Have we followed the first leg of a magnificent treble? He can add to that gold-medal tally in the 500m and 1,500m later this week. The last male skater to take that Olympic hat-trick was Eric Heiden in 1980.

Luge men's doubles - gold medal run

10 of the 17 pairs have been and gone and now we're into the genuine medal contenders.

The top seven from run one were separated by just 0.165 seconds.

USA's Zachary Digregorio and Sean Hollander are the current leaders with a combined time of 1:45.467.

Here come Italy's Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier - the first of two Italian pairs in the hunt for a medal.

Obviously my focus is on the GB lads, but my eye has been caught by one of the fellas playing for the United States on the next sheet along.

Aidan Oldenburg is his name and he's got on a bright red headband/bandana affair with a tail. It's a look...

    Snowboard - men's halfpipe qualification

There are some absolutely cracking scores flying around at Livigno Snow Park! The judges are liking what they're seeing.

Unfortunately, South Korea's Geonhui Kim just clips the lip of the pipe and takes the first fall of the evening. It is minute margins in the halfpipe.

World champion Joep Wennemars of the Netherlands fades on his re-skate and finishes with a time a couple of seconds off the pace.

And that means American Jordan Stolz is our winner with an Olympic record skate of 1:06:28.

Jenning De Boo of the Netherlands gets silver with a run 0.50 seconds slower and China's Ning Zhongyan grabs bronze.

Here comes the drama. The Netherlands' Joep Wennemars is off for his re-skate, the last run of this final.

But it's so hard to skate two runs back to back, and he's way down at the halfway stage.

    Here comes Australia's Scotty James...

He fist bumps halfpipe legend Ross Powers before dropping in.

The reigning world champion, who is hoping to end his Olympic gold medal hunt, kicks things off with a beautiful cab 1080 double cork, followed by his history-writing switch backside 1440.

And it's a score of 94 on his opening run - that's one way to stake your claim on the snow!

Now then, three for Team GB in the third end. After a cagey start, the British lads just uncorked the good stuff there and the Chinese couldn't contain them. They lead 4-1.

Vonn crashes out of Winter Olympics downhill

Lindsey Vonn's brutal crash was the big talking point of Sunday's action, when the US skiing legend sustained a "complex" broken leg in the women's downhill competition at her final Olympics.

The severity of her injury meant the 41-year-old would require "multiple" surgeries and today she posted a picture of herself, external in a hospital bed following the third operation.

"I had my 3rd surgery today and it was successful." wrote Vonn.

"Success today has a completely different meaning than it did a few days ago. I’m making progress and while it is slow, I know I’ll be ok. Thankful for all of the incredible medical staff, friends, family, who have been by my side and the beautiful outpouring of love and support from people around the world.

"Also, huge congrats to my teammates and all of the Team USA athletes who are out there inspiring me and giving me something to cheer for."

Reigning Olympic champion Ayumu Hirano is next up at Livigno Snow Park.

He cruises through his opening run in first gear. He was really technical at the top, but couldn't quite get enough speed to pull out his more technical tricks.

Nevertheless, he is awarded a respectable score of 83.

Just as he was for the women’s qualifiers earlier, snowboarding GOAT Shaun White is in the house at the halfpipe.

He’s a little too far away for me to take a decent photo, so you’re just going to have to take my word for it.

Or wait until the TV cameras pick him up.

  13. Wennemars to be given another runpublished at 18:47 GMT 11 February

The skater who will be going again in about 10 minute's time is the Netherlands' Joep Wennemars - the world champion in this in event.

This final remains very much all to play for.

Wennemars remember was cut up by Chinese skater Lian Ziwen during his run and was almost in tears after posting a time of 1:07:58 - which at the time had put him in a gold-medal spot.

    These athletes mean business tonight!

We are seeing solid jumps, brilliant tricks and perfectly executed landings at the minute.

United States' Alessandro Barbieri posts up an impressive 88.5 score from his opening run, after getting huge airtime on his tricks.

The 17-year-old is definitely one to look out for at Milano Cortina.

Up fourth tonight are siblings Katerina Mrazkova and Daniel Mrazek from the Czech Republic.

The pair have come in for criticism this week for using an AI-generated mix of AC/DC songs for their rhythm dance routine.

AI mixes are allowed in International Skating Union rules - but in a sport built around human beauty and artistry, it seems rather counter-intuitive.

  16. Re-skate delays finalpublished at 18:44 GMT 11 February

    Speed skating - Men's 1,000m

Poland's Damian Zurek starts magnificently and looks like he could stun Jordan Stolz and beat his time.

But the Polish skater fades in the final lap and eventually posts the fourth-quickest run.

That would usually be that, with all our skaters done.

But, we're hearing that they'll be a re-skate for one of the Dutch skaters, so this final isn't quite over yet! Things could still change.

The top three so far are:

    Jordan Stolz (USA) - 1:06:28

Jenning De Boo (Netherlands) - +0.50

    Ning Zhongyan (China) - +1.06

USA's Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa are in first place after posting a track record time of 52.482 in run one. Could they become the first pair not from Germany, Austria or Italy to win men's doubles gold?

Third-placed Italians Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner will be desperate to cling onto the podium after watching compatriots Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhafer win gold in the women's.

But don't count out the Two Tobis - Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt. The Germans are unbeaten at the Olympics, with three medals in the doubles and three in the team relay.

Remember, the pairs go in reverse order of the standings in the second run.

It is 23-year-old Ruka Hirano who gets things under way at Livigno Snow Park.

He is one of four athletes representing Japan in this discipline - and they will all be hoping to progress through qualification here.

He drops in and executes a big backside double cork followed by a huge frontside 14.

He gets a score of 80.5 - a decent start.
