The camera has just panned to Team GB as they make their way in.

Curler Bruce Mouat had a massive smile on his face, which is lovely to see after their emotional silver last night!

Where else to start but the opening ceremony?

It was certainly difficult to narrow it down to just one from the ceremony which was over three hours long.

This shot of models, wearing creations designed by Italian icon Giorgio Armani and donning the colours of the flag, was a symbol of national pride.

Now the flagbearers are in, the athletes can follow.

This bit can take a while, so while they make their way in let's have a look at some of the best pictures of the Games.

Switzerland's Franjo von Allmen was a dominant winner of the men's downhill competition and that was the first of three golds he won at these Games.

    Here come the flagbearers.

We need to keep our eye out for Matt Weston and Charlotte Bankes ...

The Olympic flame is being carried into the amphitheatre in a glass vase that has been made in Milan.

I saw lots of glasswork like this when I was in Italy last year. All handcrafted and very beautiful.

Italy have taken 30 medals away from their home Winter Olympics, including 10 golds.

We've had a bit of La Traviata and now the characters are welcoming the flag bearers of the 92 Olympic committee nations.

They are travelling into the amphitheatre while the performance continues.

What is your favourite moment from the Games?

    Snowboard and freestyle skiing commentator

My favourite moment is Kirsty Muir in all.

Coming off that terrible knee injury to then find herself in two finals, the most progressive women's finals we've ever seen. She got two fourth places - so close, but we're still super proud of her. Well done.

  15. Watch: Two narrow misses for GB's Muirpublished at 19:41 GMT 22 February

Great Britain could quite easily have come away with more than five medals from these Games.

There were several near misses; Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds in the curling mixed doubles, Mia Brookes in the women's snowboard big air and Kirsty Muir twice to name a few.

Muir, 21, finished fourth in both the women's freeski big air and slopestyle events.

Really didn't expect QPR to get a mention in tonight's closing ceremony from BBC commentators Hazel Irvine and John Hunt, but they have...

Damiano Tommasi, a former Italy midfielder who is now the mayor of Verona, is spotted on screen as part of the early production.

He played a few games for the London club during the 2008-09 season.

Turns out I was at one of those matches.

The closing ceremony is under way in Verona and in true Olympics style it is a full-on production of theatre.

Tonight's theme is opera - in homage to Italy being the birthplace and spiritual home of it - and a variety of singers have had cameos already.

The Lumiere is lighting the candles and we're being treated to a medley of famous opera songs.

Watch: GB's women narrowly miss out on semispublished at 19:36 GMT 22 February

The curling provided plenty of drama during these Winter Olympics.

Great Britain's women were defending the title won in Beijing, although Jen Dodds was the only survivor from that victorious quartet four years ago.

After a slow start, GB picked up momentum late in the round-robin phase to almost qualify for the semi-finals - the highlight being a sensational last-gasp win against the USA.

However, they were relying on other results to go their way in the final round of matches and, sadly, they ran out of miracles.

What is your favourite moment from the Games?

My Games highlights have been Tim and Ed commentating! Absolute legends who have brought the freestyle events right into the spotlight, with their thoroughly entertaining and enthusiastic style! Thank you guys and I shall now be watching more events, not just every four years!

  20. Watch: Atkin wins bronze to complete GB medal haulpublished at 19:30 GMT 22 February

Zoe Atkin won Great Britain's fifth and final medal at Milan-Cortina 2026 - a bronze in the women's freeski halfpipe.

Atkin was the highest-scoring qualifier and, in a final held over until this morning because of poor weather conditions, she matched the third-place finish of her sister Izzy in the slopestyle event in 2018.
