British freestyle skier Zoe Atkin qualified top for the women's halfpipe final as she looks to add the Winter Olympic title to her World Championship crown.

"It feels so good," Atkin told BBC Sport. "Obviously, I was pretty nervous coming into today [qualification].

"A big event and qualifying can be more nerve-wracking than finals as you only have two runs to put it down.

"I'm really happy that I was able to manage those feelings. I'm in a good standing for the final and that brings me a lot of confidence, so I am super excited."

A snowstorm in Livigno on Saturday means we have an extra gold medal event to look forward to on the final day of the 2026 Winter Olympics - and it could bring a medal for Team GB!

Twelve skiers have three attempts to showcase their tricks on the halfpipe, with each run scored out of 100 based on difficulty, execution, risk and use of the pipe. Your best individual score determines your place in the medal standings.

Team GB's Zoe Atkin qualified in first place and is the reigning world champion.

But she'll face stiff competition for top spot on the podium, with the final also including defending Olympic champion Eileen Gu (fifth in qualifying), her fellow Beijing medallist Rachael Karker, and 2025 World Championship silver medallist Li Fanghui.

    Cross-Country Skiing - women's 50km mass start

Sweden's Frida Karlsson - the reigning world champion - was a late withdrawal from the women's 50km due to illness. She won't add to the two golds and one silver she's already won in Milan-Cortina.

At the 7.2km checkpoint, Karlsson's compatriot Ebba Andersson led the way, wtih Norway's Heidi Weng, Austria's Teresa Stadlober, and USA's Jessie Diggins hot on her heels.

A shake of the head from Brad Hall. It’s good but it’s not good enough. Team GB’s Olympic medal hopes are all but over. Devastating for them.

Also I know my photos aren’t going to win any gold medals but I think I’ve got a bit better.

This is not the run Team GB needed. You can see Brad Hall had a shake of the head - it was a good run but not fast enough.

The British sled is not as quick as the others, they prefer colder conditions.

Great Britain climb from seventh into joint-sixth.

Their third run (54.66 seconds) is much better than their second (55.04) but they're now 1.23 seconds off competition leader Johannes Lochner (Germany).

On the plus side, they're only 0.31 seconds behind third-placed Adam Ammour (Germany). Silver, well bronze, linings and all that.

Great Britain's four-man bobsleigh pilot Brad Hall speaking to BBC Sport after run two: "Bit lost for words to be honest. We had a really good first run, third place, and then the second run got away from us.

"Don't really know where so we're going to go have to go back and look at the videos and see what happened. It felt like a nice run to me but we lost some time.

"I could see some of the clocks on the way down the track and we were in the green at turn seven so it must have been something from that point onwards. I'm really not sure what happened there."

Team GB pilot Brad Hall said yesterday he did not know what had gone wrong in run two after a brilliant first heat put them in medal contention but the second saw them slip down the standings.

Can they get back on track here to push the German teams?
