Great Britain's gold medallist Matt Weston talking to BBC Sport: "It means everything. It means a hell of a lot to me personally, I've worked so hard for this. But everyone back home - my fiance, my family, my friends, everyone who has sacrificed everything for this. I've missed funerals, birthdays, everything for this moment. It feels amazing.

"Even if you're not part of my close circle, if you play the national lottery you are supporting me as well so thank you so much. Hopefully I did you proud!"

That is astonishing. Nearly a second quicker than anyone else. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a dominant display from any British winter Olympian, ever. Take a bow, Matt Weston!

It was only on Matt Weston's first run that he had a little tap but from that point on he has been absolutely flawless.

He's been a class above everyone - he's the cream of the crop and undoubtedly deserved this gold medal.

Every single one of the four runs were absolute perfection. Incredibly impressive from Matt Weston.

What stands out for me is each and every time Matt Weston stood at the start block he was looking down the track, he excelled, he accelerated, he was so focused.

I really can't find the words to describe how incredibly impressed I am with his performance.

Matt Weston is travelling so fast and making decisions in tenths of a second, he doesn't have any time to think ahead.

He must be physically exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed. These athletes work three sessions a day, looking at analysis, looking at tenths of a second. It's paid off.

That was a really good run from Amedeo Bagnis. I don't think he could've done much more to pick up more speed. Ultimately, he's done really well in all four runs. He's done enough to apply some pressure here.
