Time for Yuma Kagiyama of Japan, our penultimate skater. If he wants to put pressure on Ilia Malinin, who he trails by over five points after the free skate, this has to be faultless.

This all means Mikhail Shaidorov is guaranteed a medal.

It is Kazakhstan's first of these Games.

Fa Adam Siao Him was third in the short programme, but he's 11th in our free skate. That takes him up to sixth overall, so far.

You can see when someone starts off if they'll be able to bring it back.

Adam Siao Him Fa couldn't. There's so, so much to love, really beautifully choreographed but it needs the back up of the material. You need that foundation but he didn't have that today.

    I feel sorry for him.

Woah, Fa Adam Siao Him ends his routine with a backflip. That brings a cheer.

The Frenchman came into this routine with a nine-point buffer over fourth. Can he crack into our current top three of?

    1 - Mikhail Shaidorov (Kazakhstan) - 291.58

    2 - Shun Sato (Japan) - 274.90

    3 - Junhwan Cha (South Korea) - 273.92

Remember, Yuma Kagyiama and Ilia Malinin are still to skate.

Right you are, Emma. A rough start to Siao Him's free skate will probably mean he'll miss out on a medal.

    It's a brutal sport.

Daniel Grassl, the big Italian medal hope here, is out of contention after slipping on his triple lutz.

Next is France’s entertainer Adam Siao Him Fa, who was third after Tuesday's short program... but he falls on both of his first two elements!

I have French commentators to both my left and right. Both have their heads in their hands.

He was on it in the short programme but he has such an awkward technique so when they are just a bit off, there's a questionable landing position. It doesn't look as aesthetic as you'd like it. He certainly isn't of the quality of Mikhail Shaidorov.

Shaidorov was so on the money today.

Our 13th ever winter Olympics gold...on the 13th....coincidence?? Well done Matty! Outstanding!! Come on Team GB: now we've had one medal, let's see if we can get a few more.

    Jane Pike. Colne, Lancs

Amazing from Matt Weston a class apart from everyone. Dominant and has been the best all season. Absolutely well deserved. Hopefully that will be the motivation for the rest of team GB to deliver more medals.

What a run that was from Matt Weston, truly incredible.

Who said Friday 13th is unlucky? Certainly isn't for the Olympic champion.

    Sensational.

For some of the athletes, there's a lot of relief. The stress can come off, the world has been lifted off their shoulders. They can now relax and appreciate what they've earned after working for the past four years.
