Ooop, there's a bit of fisticuffs around the USA goal.

One of the officials has some stern words for Sweden's Nicole Hall, telling her that when the whistle blows, she should cease and desist.

So here we go with another must-win game for Team GB's women.

They were magnificent in overcoming Denmark this morning but can they back that up against Switzerland tonight to keep alive their semi-final hopes?

The teams have broadly similar records - the Swiss have three wins to GB's two from five games - so there is nothing for Rebecca Morrison and her rink to fear. They just have to deal with the circumstances.

Sweden find themselves attacking two on one but the pass never comes to Mira Jungaker and another attack fizzles out. That's been the story of their night.

    10 minutes to go.

It hasn't been a particularly free-flowing third period but USA continue to dominate possession.

You wouldn't rule out a sixth or even seventh goal for the world champions.

Lisa Johansson deserved a goal there for Sweden, jinking past a couple of defenders and getting the shot away.

She hurt herself in the aftermath and looked in a bit of pain as the camera picked her out on the bench.

USA just need to keep going the same way. You're up 5-0, it's easy to let your guard down and just go through the motions. They just need to keep the same intensity.

  12. Weston reveals he competed with 'dodgy shoulder'published at 17:20 GMT 16 February

    BBC Sport in Cortina

Double Olympic skeleton champion Matt Weston have been doing the media rounds today following his triumph with Tabby Stoecker last night.

He's revealed to reporters that he's actually been in need of shoulder surgery for around 12 months and has been "hanging on" until after the Olympics to get it done.

“I’ve been competing with a dodgy shoulder and in a lot of pain quite a lot of the time," said Weston.

"I’m looking forward to getting that fixed, because there’s a lot of sled work I haven’t been able to do. I’ve had to rely on coaches to help me, carrying my sled around, not just because I’m being lazy and being a bit of a princess, but physically, it would break me.

"I was hanging on getting to these Games and the team around me have done a very good job just to get me here and in good enough condition that I can go and compete.

“For a year or so I’ve needed [the shoulder operation] but we’ve been holding out until after the Games... we just didn’t want to risk it. If you X-Rayed me, you’d probably find a hundred problems.”

As if his achievement wasn't impressive enough, he's done it with an iffy shoulder.

Great Britain's Dave Ryding ended his Olympic career with a 17th-place finish in the men's slalom.

The 39-year-old was competing in his fifth and final Olympics.

"I really tried everything right until my last turn," he told BBC Sport.

"I was quoted on the BBC as saying I would ski until my legs fell off and I kind of feel like they have this year.

"One season maybe too many, but I had to give it a go. I really went in as always and I'm proud."

The hooter sounds. At the end of the second period, USA lead 5-0 and barring the most unlikely of comebacks, they will be playing for the gold medal on Thursday.

Sweden actually made a bright start to the second period but Taylor Heise doubled USA's lead in the 30th minute before three goals in less than three minutes killed the game.

Abbey Murphy, Kendall Coyne, and Hayley Scamurra all got themselves on the scoresheet.

USA's Abbey Murphy heads to the penalty box for a hit on Sweden netminder Emma Soderberg. The goalie was playing the puck out from behind her goal and was floored.

Sweden's Jessica Adolfsson is also punished for wading into the scuffle and lashing out at Murphy (or roughing, as it's called in ice hockey). Murphy milked that for all she was worth.

It's gone down as Laila Edwards' goal but there were a couple of deflections in there. Nope, it's just been changed to a goal for Kendall Coyne.

Sweden opt to switch their netminder, with Emma Soderberg on for Ebba Svensson Traff.
