  1. 'We've got time to come up with a new plan'published at 16:23 GMT 16 February

Earlier today, Great Britain's Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence finished eighth after the first two runs in the two-man bobsleigh.

    They spoke to BBC Sport.

Hall on their two runs: "That was definitely a difficult one. It's very difficult to be down this track twice and be consistent so, the first one wasn't too bad with a couple of mistakes down the bottom but the second was a bit of a fight at the top. A lot of people jumping around in that second run - some people going up and some coming down so very exciting.

"Hopefully we can clean that up and be better tomorrow."

Lawrence on needing to make time up with the start: "The start for us, and for anyone, is a key part you want to get right.

"Trying to give Brad the best start possible, really fighting with that top three starters is what I should be doing - allowing Brad to have the best velocity going into the track.

"A little bit disappointed to have a slightly slower start in the second one but we'll go out tomorrow and try and jump the starts and hopefully Brad will put together two storming runs."

Hall on how to make up the difference: "Not too sure yet. We're going to go back and look at the videos from today and see how everyone else is driving down. The Romanians were pretty good on the second run and caught up some spaces so we'll try to look at all that.

"We've got a nice bit of time now until tomorrow evening to come up with a new plan and hopefully we can execute a bit better."

    Women's ice hockey - USA 1-0 Sweden

At the end of the first period, USA lead 1-0 courtesy of Cayla Barnes' sixth-minute effort.

USA have been thoroughly dominant, out-shooting Sweden 13-2 and setting up camp in the attacking third, but Ebba Traff Svensson has come up with a couple of big saves and Sweden have absorbed the sustained pressure to keep themselves well and truly in this semi-final.

Hammy McMillan spoke to BBC Sport after Great Britain's defeat to Norway: "Dropping a game there means we need to win our next two definitely to make sure we are in the semis. A couple of the teams dropped points there.

"Look - we're playing well, I know we've lost a few games but we're playing well and we've done a lot of the right things and we've just got to find that inch."

  7. 'It's disappointing to make mistakes on a stage like this'published at 16:07 GMT 16 February

Curling - GB men 6-8 Norway

Bruce Mouat spoke to BBC Sport after Great Britain's defeat to Norway: "It was a good battle but pretty disappointed we didn't get the win there. A big mistake from me in the eighth end which sealed it for them. Pretty disappointed."

Mouat on bouncing back from his mistake with a good shot in the 10th end: "We've been around the block a wee bit, we know what it's like to try and bounce back in a game after big mistakes so there's nothing new there. It's just obviously disappointing to make those mistakes on a stage like this where you've been working for it for quite a while."

But despite out-shooting Sweden 10-1 and benefitting from a two-minute powerplay, they've been restricted to just one goal. It's been a big period from Sweden netminder Ebba Svensson Traff.

Well, this is not how things were supposed to go. Not just today, but in Cortina for the Team GB men.

World champions, top ranked, expected not only to win a medal but to upgrade on their silver from last time... but they've now got work to do just to make sure they are in the semis.

Given results elsewhere,, external five wins might still prove to be enough to reach Thursday's last four.

But the British rink will want to win both of their final matches against Canada on Tuesday and the United States the following day (both 18:05 GMT) to make sure.

Cracking save from Ebba Traff Svensson. Abbey Murphy, on the left, exchanges a one-two and hits a powerful one-timer but Sweden's netminder puts up a big hand to pouch the puck.

Sweden successfully kill the penalty and are back to five outfield skaters.

They largely restricted USA's powerplay, with Murphy's shot and a long-range effort from Megan Keller the only efforts of note.

Great Britain know they could and should have won that one.

They had the opportunities, almost got three in the ninth end, almost got a steal but that's too many almosts. It was very, very close but now they've last that match.

They've lost three matches and now they really have to win their last two matches against USA and Sweden.

There's the first chance of the afternoon for USA!

Caroline Harvey, in acres of space on the left, picks out Alex Carpenter at the far post but there's a scramble for the puck and she can't nudge it over the line.

There's a loose glove floating around behind Sweden's goal - I wonder who that belongs to.

Reigning world champions USA have won a medal in the women’s ice hockey at every Olympics since the sport was added to the Games in 1998.

They are searching for a third gold, having previously been Olympic champions in 1998 and 2018, and have been in blistering form in Milan.

They’ve won all five of their matches, including a 5-0 pummelling of defending champions Canada in the group stages, and have scored 26 goals while conceding just one.

Sweden have also won all five of their fixtures and although they came through the lower-ranked group, they made a statement by beating Czech Republic 2-0 in the quarter-finals.

Sweden haven’t won an Olympic medal since 2006, when they finished second to Canada (beating USA in the semi-finals), and placed sixth at the 2025 World Championships.
