Ski jumping - men's super team

Into the second round of the men's super team and the pairs have completed one of their two runs at this stage.

Austria, who led the way at the end of the first round, are still on top with a total score of 419.6.

    They're followed by Poland (406.2), Japan (402.5), Norway (400.1) and Germany (398.5).

Slovenia, who were placed second at the end of the first round, have slipped to sixth after Anze Lanisek put in the 11th best jump of the second round.

They still have the formidable Domen Prevc to go, and he should ensure they're in the top eight that progress to the final later tonight.

Faced with three red Swiss stones in the house, she kept her shape and drew in her final throw to prevent a hefty steal again in the fourth end.

What do curlers wear on their feet?published at 19:00 GMT 16 February

Have you ever wondered about the shoes curlers wear?

Most will have on either bespoke curling shoes or adapted trainers, but the key thing is the quarter-inch Teflon plate on the bottom of the sliding foot - left for right-handers and vice versa - to help them glide.

Sometimes that will be a single plate right the length of the sole, but most elite players will have two separate discs to allow a bit more movement of the foot.

The other foot will just have a grippy rubber sole, principally so you don't fall over...

You might also notice that the sweepers have a silicone tip on toe of their dominant foot - that's to reduce friction when they are chasing the stone down the ice.

When in the media room at Olympic events, an eye cast around the journalists present will tell you which athletes are in medal contention.

There is a large cohort of Japanese reporters, hoping to see a medal for Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara - the world champions are fifth after the short program.

There's a good number of Germans too, with Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin leading the way.

In Milan, it's nearly time for tonight's figure skating.

Nineteen pairs completed their short program on Sunday night, with 16 advancing to today’s free skate.

The women's big air final will now not start before 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT).

As well as the snowfall, it's incredibly windy out there and so obviously it is not safe for athletes to be competing.

That's the end of the first round of the men's super team.

Austria, who led the standings after the first set of jumps, held their position with a combined score of 291.2 by their two jumpers.

    They're followed by Slovenia (280.9), Poland (274.5), Germany (273.3) and Japan (272.3).

We bid farewell to Estonia, Ukraine, Turkey, China and Romania with only 12 teams progressing to the second round - that starts at 18:50 GMT.

The women's big air has been delayed by a further 30 mins - a decision is due at 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT).

They've currently got what are effectively leaf blowers out on the big air, trying to disperse the loose snow.

Given that it is still snowing heavily, that feels like a pointless task to me.

I can’t tell if Adele Nicoll was happy or frustrated with that run as she shouted something as she came up the finish straight.

She was up and out of the sled before it had even got to the top and needed the help of the track workers to get the sled up the last bit of hill before it went sliding the other way.

Anyway her run of one minute flat is an improvement on her times from the first two heats.

Mica Moore, who used to compete for Team GB but now represents Jamaica, shakes her head as she comes up a few minutes later after a really messy run.

Wales’ Adele Nicoll made history on Sunday as the first British woman to race in the Olympic monobob event and she's next down the track.

After run two, she was in 13th place and trailing leader Laura Nolte by 1.71 seconds.

Nicoll, 29, is a former shot putter, winning three national championships, and was an alternate for the two-woman bobsleigh in Beijing before switching to the monobob.

She will also compete in the two-woman competition alongside Ashleigh Nelson, with that event getting under way on Friday.
