Two years ago, it was Jasmine Paolini was capturing the hearts of the Wimbledon crowd as she made it all the way to the final.

After that breakthrough year in 2024, things haven't gone quite so well for the Italian but having progressed to the fourth round, winning three matches in a row for the first time in 2026, she will be hopeful of going deep into the tournament again.

However, to do that, Paolini must get past a new fan favourite at the All England Club.

Alexandra Eala made history as the first player from the Philippines to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon when she shocked defending champion Iga Swiatek in the last round.

The manner of the 21-year-old's victory, fearlessly taking on the world number three with some fantastic shot-making, helped win over the crowd.

And if that didn't do it, her emotional reaction after sealing the win certainly did.

  3. Britons in doubles actionpublished at 13:18 BST 6 July

Court Three is the main port of call for you today if you want to follow British interest in the doubles.

Britain's Neal Skupski and American partner Christian Harrison, the reigning Australian Open champions, will aim for a quarter-final spot in the men's doubles soon.

They're followed by defending Wimbledon champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, before Skupski returns with American Desirae Krawczyk in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles.

The mixed doubles quarter-final involving Britain's Joe Salisbury and Canada's Leylah Fernandez is fourth on Court Two.

    *De Minaur 1-1 Cobolli

Flavio Cobolli sends down some strong serves either side of a blip from a double fault.

The Italian then skews a forehand wide, but secures the hold as Alex de Minaur watches a backhand down the line drift just over the baseline.

    • Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk is through to the quarter-finals of the women's singles - the 12th seed beat American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-4 6-4 in the first match on Court Two.
    • Staying with the women's singles, Czech 21st seed Marie Bouzkova has got the early break as she takes on Belgium's Elise Mertens and leads 2-0 in the first set.
  6. De Minaur holdspublished at 13:13 BST 6 July

    De Minaur 1-0 Cobolli*

Flavio Cobolli makes an early statement by taking on Alex de Minaur's second serve and reaps the rewards as the Australian can't dig it out from the baseline.

De Minaur recovers well and despite facing pressure as Cobolli advances towards the net, De Minaur finds the gap with a backhand down the line to hold.

    Solid start from both players.

The second week at Wimbledon is upon us and after England's win at the Azteca last night, will we see another memorable British victory today?

Arthur Fery - the last remaining Briton in the singles - is back in action today and the 23-year-old wildcard has been bumped onto Centre Court for his fourth-round match against Grigor Dimitrov.

We'll have to wait a little longer for that one, though, as Alexandra Eala, fresh from knocking out defending champion Iga Swiatek, kicks things off on Centre.

Men's second seed Alexander Zverev is also in action later as, having ended his long wait for Grand Slam title, he aims to add to his tally at the next opportunity.

With that and plenty more to look forward to, there's extensive coverage across BBC TV and radio throughout the day and remember you can choose which match you'd like to watch in full on the BBC iPlayer.
