  2. Rybakina holds servepublished at 16:23 BST 27 May

    *Starodubtseva 3-6 6-1 4-3 Rybakina

Yuliia Starodubtseva is two games away from a HUGE upset.

Elena Rybakina has improved on serve, but Starodubtseva still has the all-important break, so all she needs to do is stay solid in her own service games.

Easier said than done when you're playing a two-time Grand Slam champion.

  3. Game and second set - Djokovicpublished at 16:20 BST 27 May

    Djokovic 6-3 6-2 0-0 Royer*

There's no messing from Novak Djokovic as he wraps up the second set with a service hold to love.

At 40-0 up, the Serb scoops the ball off his toes on the baseline, with the ball somehow finding its way to corner of the court on the opposite side of the net.

Not that Djokovic seems to be in the mood to appreciate his own brilliance today - it's very much a case of getting the job done for the three-time former champion.

  4. Djokovic serving for second setpublished at 16:14 BST 27 May

    *Djokovic 6-3 5-2 Royer

Valentin Royer holds to force Novak Djokovic to serve for the set.

The Frenchman has done well, especially given his lack of experience at this level, but he needs to turn the tide quickly if he is to stop Djokovic today.

That's what you have to do against Djokovic - you have to take on that second serve and you have to go big at times. He's trying to do the right things.

  6. Rybakina still a break down in deciderpublished at 16:11 BST 27 May

    *Starodubtseva 3-6 6-1 3-2 Rybakina

That's more like it. Elena Rybakina breaks to love against Yuliia Starodubtseva and then saves two break points to hold.

The world number 55 still has a break advantage, though.

  7. Djokovic edges towards two-set leadpublished at 16:10 BST 27 May

    Djokovic 6-3 5-1 Royer*

A brilliant backhand from Valentin Royer that skips off the line to evade Novak Djokovic as he approaches the net gets a huge ovation from the crowd on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

But the odd point aside, the 24-year-old Frenchman has still been unable to threaten the Serb's serve.

It's another straightforward hold for Djokovic.

The way Djokovic shifts weight and gets the racquet through the ball is exceptional. Your footwork has to be so good to execute the way Novak has today.

    *Djokovic 6-3 4-1 Royer

Djokovic senses an opportunity and secures the double-break with a angled forehand winner.

Novak is so impressive. He can play himself into Slams that very few players can do.

Sometimes he's a little bit for the taking in the early rounds but once he gets two or three matches under his belt, all of a sudden the level goes back to where it needs to be.

  11. Starodubtseva breaks early in deciderpublished at 15:57 BST 27 May

    Starodubtseva 3-6 6-1 2-0 Rybakina*

It's all going wrong for Elena Rybakina. This could be the biggest upset of the tournament so far.

The world number two is broken by Yuliia Starodubtseva in the very first game of the decider and then fails to convert a break point to strike back immediately.

  12. Djokovic holdspublished at 15:57 BST 27 May

    Djokovic 6-3 3-1 Royer*

Novak Djokovic is back serving into the sun - cue lots of looking up at the sky and mini ball tosses.

There's a pump of the fist as Valentin Royer gets the better of the former world number one in a long rally.

But ultimately it's all to no avail as Djokovic holds with a backhand drive that just catches the outside of the line.

If you don't hit your spots and mix it up, Djokovic starts to read your toss and anticipates and goes half a step early. Once he starts reading your patterns, you're in big trouble.

  14. Royer holdspublished at 15:51 BST 27 May

    *Djokovic 6-3 2-1 Royer

Novak Djokovic gets to 30-30 but then overhits a backhand on both of the next two points to allow Valentin Royer to hold.

There's a definite sense that Djokovic wants to get points done and get back into the cool of the locker room.

  15. Djokovic consolidates breakpublished at 15:47 BST 27 May

    Djokovic 6-3 2-0 Royer*

Valentin Royer is chuntering away after again failing to make any inroads into Novak Djokovic's serve.

The Frenchman seems annoyed with himself but to be fair, Djokovic has been serving well today. He's made over three-quarters of his first serves and has won more than 80% of the points on them.

Djokovic is still yet to face a break point.

  16. Djokovic breaks at start of second setpublished at 15:41 BST 27 May

    *Djokovic 6-3 1-0 Royer

Valentin Royer starts the second set slowly and Novak Djokovic capitalises.

The Frenchman serves a double fault and his next serve is pounced upon by the Serb.

That puts more pressure on Royer, who coughs up another service error to hand the advantage to Djokovic.

  17. Starodubtseva forces decider against Rybakinapublished at 15:41 BST 27 May

    Starodubtseva 3-6 6-1 0-0 Rybakina*

Elena Rybakina finally gets on the board in the second set, but it feels a little too late. Even that service hold was a struggle, with Yuliia Starodubtseva forcing deuce after being 40-0 down.

The Ukrainian, in contrast, is a whole lot more ruthless. A speedy love hold and she takes us to a decider.

  18. Game and first set - Djokovicpublished at 15:34 BST 27 May

    Djokovic 6-3 0-0 Royer*

Valentin Royer flashes back a forehand return winner right out of the Novak Djokovic playbook.

But it's the only point the Frenchman wins in the game as Djokovic clinches the first set with a serve winner.

The 39-year-old will be hoping he can negotiate the rest of the match in as straightforward a fashion as he can. He is already looking a bit puffed and is taking his time to towel down between points.

  19. Starodubtseva double break uppublished at 15:33 BST 27 May

    Starodubtseva 3-6 5-0 Rybakina*

Elena Rybakina is out of sorts. It doesn't look like she's struggling with injury or illness, but some of the shots coming off her racquet are wild. All over the place.

It doesn't help that Yuliia Starodubtseva is landing some lovely winners.

The second seed had two break points to claw a break back, but Starodubtseva fights back and now she's only one game away from forcing a decider.
