Five-time Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

This shows you how quickly things change in this game.

Iga Swiatek has her head covered with a towel at change of ends, she is trying to reset. This is another sign of the anxiety that the former world number one is feeling. She's had a lot of dominating times in the past few years, but she has also struggled with anxiety.

    *Bergs 6-2 2-3 Fery

One advantage of Arthur Fery preferring to stand deep behind the baseline is that it opens up the court and offers more opportunity to find the corners. Fery does just that to fire off a winner for 30-0.

Zizou Bergs gets back to 30-30 and then gets a shade of luck as Fery puts into the net.

But Fery responds with a lovely passing shot to force deuce.

  3. Swiatek holdspublished at 15:32 BST 4 July

    *Eala 7-6 (11-9) 4-1 Swiatek

    Straightforward hold for Iga Swiatek.

She's avoided the bagel but the defending champion is still right up against it.

A set and a double break down. It will take something special to keep her title defence going.

  4. 'Roig is having to really yell'published at 15:31 BST 4 July

    Eala 7-6 (11-9) 4-0 Swiatek*

    Pam Shriver
Five-time Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Iga Swiatek's forehand is not prime-time right now. She has been taking a couple of shadow swings between points.

Francisco Roig did try to give her some messages at the end of that game. He is having to really yell from the coaching box because it is quite far back on Centre Court. One message you can give your player repeatedly is: 'Keep competing' because you just never know in this sport.

There’s a lot of heavy strapping already on Alexandra Eala’s right thigh, and she’s just stretching it out a little after that slip…

    Eala 7-6 (11-9) 4-0 Swiatek*

After an engrossing battle in the first set, the second is in danger of turning into a procession.

Alexandra Eala swiftly goes up 40-0 before Iga Swiatek decides there is nothing to lose and goes on the offensive.

Huge shot after huge shot, plus a slip from Eala - who still manages to return the ball - help Swiatek come back and force break point.

But Eala saves it then nails a forehand winner right into the corner for another game point. That's saved but Eala gets another and holds when Swiatek finds the net.

Alexander Zverev has not taken long to find his range with his forehand as a couple of winners zip off the German second seed's racquet.

After bringing up break point, Zverev's forehand does some more good work as Marcos Giron is overpowered during a rally.

A confident start from the French Open champion.

    Bergs 6-2 2-2 Fery*

Arthur Fery has the chance to open up a 40-15 lead but he fails to get any lift on the ball after approaching the net - 30-30.

"Come on!" shouts Fery when he gets to 40-30.

But Zizou Bergs takes control of the next point with some impressive groundstrokes.

  10. 'Swiatek is mentally gone'published at 15:26 BST 4 July

    *Eala 7-6 (11-9) 3-0 Swiatek

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is a double break for Alexandra Eala! What's amazing about it is the pair's practice sessions seem to be favouring the Filipino because on break point Swiatek had an easy forehand and Eala held her ground to hit a beautiful backhand passing shot.

Swiatek is mentally gone, we could see her berating herself as she walked off the court between sets. She has to be resilient and find a way to bounce back here.

Chaos in the media seats! A wayward serve from Zizou Bergs comes very close to knocking someone’s head off. At 130mph that would seriously hurt!

The ball kid asks that some of the journalists try and retrieve the ball, but it’s nowhere to be found.

Long way to go still, but I’ve seen a lot of these sort of sets recently that have just gone racing away from Iga Swiatek as her confidence goes. Her game looks rushed and just becomes that bit messier and panicked.

  15. Second break back point Ferypublished at 15:22 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 6-2 2-1 Fery

Zizou Bergs comes up with a huge body serve to get to deuce.

That's two break points faced and two saved in this match for Bergs.

But Arthur Fery gets a third opportunity.

  16. 'Bergs thriving on great form from Eastbourne'published at 15:21 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 6-2 2-1 Fery

    Kyle Edmund
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

It just doesn't feel like Arthur Fery has got going yet and that's largely down to Zizou Bergs' level.

He is thriving on that great form from Eastbourne and he has just kept going here. All the play has been about him.

  17. Break back point Ferypublished at 15:21 BST 4 July

    *Bergs 6-2 2-1 Fery

Zizou Bergs throws up his third double fault of the match to allow Arthur Fery to 30-30.

Iga Swiatek is in danger of imploding here - Alexandra Eala has the double break!

Two excellent returns from Eala leave Swiatek motionless and get her to 15-30.

Swiatek then puts a backhand limply into the net, so uncharacteristic of her, before Eala secures the break with a brilliant cross-court backhand winner.

The defending champion might not quite be on the brink yet but she getting ever closer to it.

Alexander Zverev has long struggled to deliver results consistently on grass.

The German has picked up 42 ATP Tour titles, including last month's French Open, but is yet to win a single title on grass.

Zverev has reached three grass finals - twice in Halle and once in Stuttgart - but lost on all three occasions.

And he has never gone beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon, reaching that stage in three of his previous nine appearances at SW19.

    *Bergs 6-2 2-1 Fery

Arthur Fery hits his racquet into his bag as he sits on his chair at the change of ends. The Briton has been guilty of too many unforced errors but he needs to control his emotions.

There's still a long way to go in this match.
