Well that was a chance to break for Arthur Rinderknech, there's no doubt about it. A reminder that he hasn't been past the third round at Wimbledon before.

Stefan [Novak Djokovic's son] has just come back with lots of goodies, I doubt he'll want to share those out!

It's busy in the crowds and the media seats for Jannik Sinner out on Court One.

The defending champion has never lost a Slam match to a player ranked as low as world number 81 Jenson Brooksby. Brooksby was previously inside the world's top 40 but fell down the rankings after a shoulder injury, surgery on both wrists - and a ban for missing three out of competition drugs tests in a 12-month period.

Jannik Sinner looks on course to match Jenson Brooksby's start as he races to a 40-0 lead, but the American stands up tall and forces through a forehand winner.

Sinner gets it done on the next point.

    Rinderknech 5-7 1-0 Djokovic*

Arthur Rinderknech takes the acclaim of the Centre Court crowd with a rasping cross-court forehand. Novak Djokovic taps his racquet too.

That gets him back to 40-30 and a double fault by Djokovic makes it deuce, before a Rinderknech drop shot clips the top of the net and dribbles over onto Djokovic's side.

Break point... saved by Djokovic as he ends a long rally by placing a forehand into the open court, having got Rinderknech scurrying from side to side.

The first game of a set is always an important one to hold serve in, especially when you have lost the first set. Arthur Rinderknech doesn't want to go down another early break to Novak Djokovic.

The scoreboard can get away from you very quickly, if it happens, so he just has to continue to stay in it.

Why isn't Sinner playing on Centre Court him being top seed, instead we have Djokovic again, who decides what player plays on what court I'd like to know

    Carol

The answer to this question is in this article by our Ask Me Anything team.

Scheduling the order of play each day is a complex operation. It is decided by match referees and the Order of Play Committee.

An effort is made to put the best players and best matches on the show courts, Centre Court and Court One. This can present a challenge when deciding between whether to prioritise higher-ranked players, or those who draw larger audiences.

Tickets are more expensive for the show courts, so price is also taken into consideration when deciding which players go on the higher-profile courts.

Arthur Rinderknech didn’t make the most of his situation in the 10th game, and that is what happens when you don’t punish someone with the skill and nous of Novak Djokovic when the chance arises.

After a sumptuous angled drop shot helped him to the break, Djokovic, now seemingly in full flow, had the crowd in raptures as he took a bow following that brilliant point as he began serving for the set.

It has taken 50 minutes for the Serb to stamp his authority on this match but, in his element here, the seven-time champion has Centre Court buzzing now.

  14. Rinderknech holdspublished at 14:36 BST 3 July

    Rinderknech 5-7 1-0 Djokovic*

Arthur Rinderknech has only been to the fourth round of a Grand Slam once before and that was at last year's US Open.

His run to the third round at Wimbledon this year equals his previous best performance.

A second ace of the match helps him to a service hold at the start of the second set.

  15. Sinner up next on Court Onepublished at 14:33 BST 3 July

Defending champion Jannik Sinner is next up on Court One against American Jenson Brooksby.

Italy's Sinner went five sets with Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round and had to come through a couple of tie breaks during his straight-set victory over Nuno Borges last time out.

After an early exit at the French Open in May, is the world number one still rebuilding his confidence?

Just 55% of first serves in by Arthur Rinderknech in the first set.

Against a returner of the quality of Novak Djokovic, that number needs to go up in the remainder of this match if he's going to have a chance.

  17. Game and first set - Djokovicpublished at 14:30 BST 3 July

    *Rinderknech 5-7 0-0 Djokovic

Novak Djokovic takes the first set on Centre Court.

It's not been vintage Djokovic but there have been some outstanding moments from him and one of them comes in the first point of this game. He takes a bow and puts his finger to his ear having dived full stretch to reach a forehand volley at the net for a winner.

A reminder that the winner of this match will play Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin, who excelled in a straight-set win over Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca earlier today, in the fourth round.

  18. 'I'm just trying to take it one day at a time'published at 14:28 BST 3 July

    Osaka 6-1 6-3 Kasatkina

Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka, speaking on court one after beating Daria Kasatkina: "I'm really happy. I've actually never won on this court in my career, so I'm just really glad to have made a really good memory here. Thank you guys for cheering us on. It was a really big honour for me to play, so thank you.

"I definitely felt really good today. I've played a lot of matches on grass for the past two weeks, so I felt really confident. She played really good as well, so I'm really happy with the result."

On reaching the women's singles fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time in her career: "I mean, you tell me [about my prospects here]. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time, one point at a time even. It was really fun to play and I hope I keep going further and further. If this is your last question, please can I shout out my box? Thank you guys for being here."

On how she spent her daughter's birthday celebrations: "I don't think I should be telling you this, but she was kind of bad yesterday. We tried to take her to the park, but then she needed to be in timeout, so we are going to try to take her today. It was an awesome birthday, she blew out her candles and made a wish so I hope her wish is to behave better. If not, today is a new day for her!"

It was an incredible day in the office, let's face it, from start to finish.

Naomi Osaka had her foot on the pedal the whole entire match. She had devastating depth on her groundstrokes. She laser-guided every shot. These were all things Daria Kasatkina just couldn't break through - her slices, chips and drop shots just didn't bother her opponent.

That's as clean a match as I've seen in this championships.

This is what Djokovic does to you.
