Novak Djokovic doesn't fancy serving this one out.

He nails a backhand winner to go up 15-30 on Roman Safiullin's serve.

    Two points from victory...

Novak Djokovic just had a long stare at somebody in the crowd. I think they maybe unnecessarily called 'out' there, but it didn't take him off his stride.

He is now within a game of another quarter-final here at Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic is almost there now.

He comes to the net to great effect time and again, and moves a weary-looking Roman Safiullin around the court throughout the game.

Safiullin will now serve to extend this fourth-round match.

Well, credit to Roman Safiullin. Taking on one of the all-time greats, and giving it everything. Even when things haven't gone his way, he's kept right on trying. Whichever side of the score he ends up on, he should be very proud of himself.

Superb service game from Roman Safiullin, holding to 15.

But the shot of the game went to Novak Djokovic as he met a serve down the middle with a scorching forehand return.

It was past Safiullin before he could move.

There's a potential upset brewing on Court One with men's third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime dropping the first set to Spanish 22nd seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina after losing a tie-break.

The winner of this is likely to play 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, if the Serb can close out victory against Roman Safiullin.

Roman Safiullin obviously believes he is going to hit a big return, I think that's what it boils down to. I think he is mistaken though. He had one to help get that break in the third set, but that is one out of a dozen.

Novak Djokovic is going to be happy to get through this without it going to five sets. The extra time off, Tuesday to Friday, will help as well.

    Two games away...

Novak Djokovic is edging ever closer to a record-breaking 106th win at Wimbledon.

He should hold to 15 but fails to put away the overhead smash and then an unfriendly net cord costs him the point, despite a cheeky behind-the-back attempt to salvage it.

But that only delays him by a few seconds.

Britons Marcus Willis and Heather Watson have also lost in the second round of the mixed doubles.

American-Chinese pair Christian Harrison and Zhang Shuai picked up three breaks of serve to take the opening set.

Willis and Watson failed to capitalise on five break point opportunities through the second set and then came up short in the tie-break.

A little more than three hours since this match started and there is still work for Novak Djokovic to do on Centre Court.

He gets to 30-30 on the Roman Safiullin serve but the Russian stands firm and gets himself on the board in this fourth set.

Well considering what had happened in the third set and how miffed he was, you sort of anticipated Novak Djokovic would go back to trying to get on the front foot.

He is taking it to Roman Safiullin. He is making his opponent come up with special and, if not, making him hit more balls. Djokovic's aim is to break Safiullin mentally.

Novak Djokovic has been able to put the disappointment of losing that third set to one side, it seems. He is halfway towards completing the job here!

Roman Safiullin looks to be feeling a little bit compromised, especially after all the work he has done. His opponent has come out aggressively here.

Novak Djokovic has shown his frustration at times in this match, especially when the third set didn't go his way, but he's back to having fun again.

Roman Safiullin lobs a return high into the sky and Djokovic stands statue-esque as it hits the ground and lands out.

Djokovic wins his ninth point in a row for 40-0 but is pegged to 40-30 before sealing the hold.

Novak Djokovic creeps up to the net and flashes off a forehand winner for 30-0.

Oh no! Roman Safiullin has Djokovic on the ropes but then fires long to hand over three break points.

That was a definite let off, there is no question about that.

Now the answer we want to find out is how Roman Safiullin will react to it. Can he shrug it off and just move on or will it effect him?

Novak Djokovic is going to try to take advantage right here.

Karolina Muchova is into the quarter-finals after beating fellow Czech Barbora Krejcikova in three sets.

    The 10th seed won 7-5 5-7 6-3 against the 2024 Wimbledon champion.

Muchova's victory sets up a last-eight tie against either top seed Aryna Sabalenka or 14th seed Naomi Osaka, who play on Centre Court later today.

It is extremely rare to see Novak Djokovic lose from two sets up.

It is somewhat typical to see him stretching and testing his breathing to make sure everything is a go though, especially at the age of 39 years old.

He won't want to be a break down immediately in this fourth set.
