More from Jakub Mensik's on his withdrawal from the Australian Open, meaning Novak Djokovic gets a walkover into the quarter-finals...

"This is a tough one to write. After doing everything we could to keep going, I have to withdraw from the Australian Open due to an abdominal muscle injury that has progressed over the last matches.

"After a long discussions with my team and doctors we decided not to step on court tomorrow.

"Even though I'm disappointed, making the fourth round here for the first time is something I will carry with me for a long time. I felt so much energy from the fans and the atmosphere in Melbourne was truly special."

Cute from Alexander Bublik, rushing up on the approach following a brutal down the line backhand and sending a well-placed backhand winner coursing along the net at a wicked angle: 40-30.

Alexander Bublik avoids the bagel and Rod Laver Arena shows the Kazakh some appreciation.

That's only the second time he's held serve since the first set and it was a bit of a classic Bublik service game, featuring an ace and a double fault before he hammered home a smashed winner.

    De Minaur 6-4 6-1 2-0 Bublik*

Alex de Minaur lets out a "come on" after dragging Alexander Bublik off court with a forehand and watching his reply fly long. That's the most demonstrative the Australian has been.

Bublik, up at the net, misses a fairly routine forehand for 40-15, shaking his head and muttering as he returns to the baseline.

De Minaur holds to 30. He's yet to face a break point.
