It might be a little early to be talking about Novak Djokovic losing this match - he has by no means looked off the pace.

But it's worth a reminder that Djokovic has never lost in the opening round at Wimbledon in 20 previous appearances in the singles draw.

He has only exited a Grand Slam in the first round on two occasions - both coming at the Australian Open right at the start of his career in 2005 and 2006.

World number one and defending champion Jannik Sinner had to overcome some adversity on Centre Court earlier.

Sinner came from behind to beat Miomir Kecmanovic in five sets.

Although seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic isn't trailing, it still looks like he's got a serious test on his hands too.

The way Wu has been striking the ball and putting so much pressure on Novak from the back of the court - it's been relentless.

Darkness is closing in and the temperature is going down, so the Centre Court roof will be closed at the end of this second set.

Closing the roof takes around 10 minutes and the players will be offered a three-minute warm-up for the change in conditions.

The tension builds when Novak Djokovic puts his first serve into the net.

But there is no mistake with the second. Wu Yibing's shot selection is up for question again as he elects to go big from the baseline and finds the net.

Wu shrugs that off and gets another set point.

Novak Djokovic puts faith back in his trusty wide serve and it pays off for advantage.

Wu Yibing looks like he's scrambling a little across the baseline but comes up with the goods to keep this game alive. A two-handed cross-court drop shot sticks as Djokovic is rooted to the baseline.

Wu has a huge opportunity with break point when Djokovic slams a forehand into the net.

Novak Djokovic cuts a frustrated figure on the baseline when his return crashes into the net. But the Serb moves on quickly and comes up with some fine net play to level at 15-15.

There's a sore one for Wu Yibing as he slices Djokovic's serve back up into his own face. Fortunately Wu sees the funny side and he's OK to continue.

Djokovic has the chance to seal the hold at 40-30 but fails to take it and there's a pump of the fist from Wu as it goes to deuce.

Djokovic hasn't done much wrong in this second set and he's taken care of his own service game but to be honest, Wu has been serving so well specifically from the back of the court. It's so clean. Novak hasn't been able to break him.

A 'come on' from Wu Yibing after taking an impressive hold to guarantee at least a tie-break in this second set.

There is a furrow in the brow of Novak Djokovic, who is 13 years older than his opponent. He isn't the oldest man playing in the men's singles though, that spot is for Stan Wawrinka.

Wu's been serving great - at 79% first serves - and the previous set was pretty high as well, I wouldn't have put him as a big server but Novak hasn't been able to get his teeth into the set on the return.

It looks like Wu Yibing believes that he could challenge Novak Djokovic here.

There was a match he played in the past where his heart rate was at about 190 beats per minute. They had to bring the doctors out and there was some real concern, but he is trying to keep his composure a lot more these days.

He has really lifted his level from obviously appearing overwhelmed with what he was dealing with walking onto this court tonight.

Wu Yibing races into a 40-0 lead but Novak Djokovic comes back fighting at 40-30.

A nervous moment at this late stage of the second set but you wouldn't know it from Wu's reaction as he keeps his cool to get the hold.

Djokovic will serve to stay in the set.

That is about as hard a forehand as you could hit from Wu Yibing - talk about timing it well!

He makes a lot of errors, but he for sure hits a lot of winners.

I also love that a guy like Novak Djokovic is willing to go back to the forehand right after he has hit a shot like that. It's like he is saying: 'Show me you can do it again because I don't think so.'
