Higgins 15-16 Murphy
Methodical stuff from John Higgins as he bids to take this to a deciding frame.
The Scot nudges his break up to 50 to put himself in striking distance of the frame, only for his positioning to let him down at a key moment.
Higgins leaves himself with a bit to do on a black into the corner and his cut is too thick which leaves it hovering over the pocket.
Higgins grimaces.

The two pervious frames John started to look weak, he wasn't striking the ball properly.
All of a sudden he's at the point of no return and he's striking the ball as well as you can - incredible.

John Higgins cracks a difficult pink into the bottom-right corner pocket.
That made a lovely crunch as he cued it.
"Shot of the day so far, given what is on the line if he missed it" Stephen Hendry says.
Hard to argue. Higgins' break up to 25 now.

He's given himself a great chance, John Higgins.
There are lots of open reds at the baulk end of the table, but he'd like to get down to the business end and get scoring.

Both players have been extraordinary in this semi-final - but just now Shaun Murphy looks a bit stronger. Whoever wins will surely have more energy left than Mark Allen or Wu Yize, who will probably be playing past midnight!

A cautious start to the 32nd frame with neither player willing to take the cue ball from the cushion behind the pack of reds.
Who is going to gamble on attempting to pot a red into one of the middle pockets?

Shaun Murphy is playing beautifully - the way he's come back at John Higgins, when he went two behind, is quite incredible.
He's got that steel, that grit and determination that sometimes he's been guilty of missing over the years, but he seems to have found it.

I expected Shaun Murphy to get that, but the tension is building.
Does this suit John Higgins to have a tactical frame? He's a tactical master.

Fingernails being bitten down to the quick at the Crucible as this match boils up.

When Shaun Murphy goes behind he doesn't look like missing.
But when he gets on level terms the mistakes start creeping in again.

John Higgins v Mark Allen final I hope. Then I can get on with jobs that need doing, without caring about what’s happening in snooker.

He seems to have potted a lot of balls in this break.
The frames that Shaun's winning, he's winning comfortably. The frames that John's winning are much closer, more tactical exchanges.
The first two frames this afternoon he won to zero. The first session since the mid-session interval he won to zero. This one he's going to win with three points in reply.
