    HT: Wales 17-5 Scotland

    Alex Cuthbert
Former Wales winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

For me that’s probably the best performance Wales have put on in this stadium for good number of years.

Scotland will have their purple patch at some point in this game where everything starts to click, can Wales withstand that?

If Wales are going to win this game they have to sort that defence out.

They're getting cut too many times. Scotland are not going to waste those chances in the second half.

That's it, end of the half and Wales are buzzing.

Sione Tuipuloto, Blair Kinghorn and Ben White all combine as Scotland break down the right.

But the scrum-half kicks ahead and Josh Adams managed to snatch the ball out of the air and snuff out the chance.

Adams has been everywhere this half.

The lineout is struggling and we are lacking real composure.

The Welsh are getting to us and the things that were working against England are not working today.

The accuracy in the forwards has been really poor.

Huge turnover by Alex Mann just as Scotland were sniffing blood close to the Welsh line.

Kyle Steyne wriggled out of a cluster and Huw Jones followed up but Mann was all over the breakdown.

There has been plenty of debate as to whether he should be wearing the number seven jersey but he made a big point there.

Those changes are a statement from Gregor Townsend.

He's justified in terms of the levels so far, the intensity.

Well Gregor Townsend has seen enough and is making a ruthless early call here.

Prop Nathan McBeth and lock Max Williamson are off and big Pierre Shoeman and Josh Bayliss are on.

McBeth has been overpowered and Williamson was turned over in the build up to second Welsh try.

    This is a weird stat.

That was Wales' first successful penalty goal-kick since the fourth round last year's tournament - against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Back in the team for the first time under Steve Tandy and already three from three with the boot.

Wales have a free play here with a penalty coming.

But Dewi Lake drops the ball so they come back to take the kick.

Oh i thought they may have fancied another crack at the Scotland line then just five metres out. But points mean prizes.

Wales win back-to-back penalties at the breakdown and Costelow has the chance to set up camp in the Scottish 22.

In contrast to the first two rounds, Wales are getting on the front foot with prop Rhys Carre, hooker Dewi Lake and number eight Aaron Wainwright carrying impressively.

Centre Eddie James - who was strong in the final quarter against France - has also made some telling contributions.

They'll need to keep that going and have already been forced to use one of their replacements early in James Botham.

Can Wales keep carrying strongly and hitting hard in defence?

At the moment, you have to say that Wales are winning that physical battle.

They are really taking it to Scotland around the edges and making big yardage.

Scotland are struggling to get hand on the ball and slow it down.

    Wales 14-5 Scotland

Yes Jiffy. Wales are getting their big ball-carriers like Eddie James and Rhys Carre onto the ball and making bug yards.

It's making such a difference to their game and the Welsh crowd have awoken.

Wales are getting over the gain line. It's a different ball game. It gives the backs a great platform to execute and it's a brilliant finish.

Brilliant play by Wales, they've got the confidence to go through the phases.

Converted try: Wales 14-5 Scotlandpublished at 18 mins

    Adams try, Costelow con

The wing has had a barnstorming start to this game and gets his second the this year's championship in the left corner.

Sam Costelow's sublime kick got Wales up field. Eddie James carried hard before Rhys Carre's offload to Alex Mann created the space out wide for Adams.

Wales look a different team to what we've seen in the first two weeks.
