Replacements have made the difference, especially Crowley. Why didn't he start ??

    Graham, Belfast

Ireland have just sent Andy Farrell a message. We play better without Prendergast

If you have a 6-2 split on the bench you have to be brave enough to use them and Andy Farrell wasn't happy with how things were going and made changes and got all the impacts from the changes.

Well, that's a decent start as Italy win the scrum for smothering an Irish ruck and the ball wasn't anywhere to be seen.

Italy were the better side for the majority of the game until Louis Lynagh's disallowed try.

Can they rediscover that form and stop the Irish momentum?

Ireland have the penalty advantage but Jamison Gibson-Park's crossfield kick has too much on it for Baloucoune and play is brought back.

    Crowley points to the posts.

You can see the difference in play as soon as Crowley comes on. I don't understand why he doesn't start.

    Cameron, Glasgow

Crowley the saviour. Crisp hands and making the right decisions, Ireland to see it out with him on the pitch

Just like the France game last week, where was this Ireland side for the opening 55 minutes?

Italy are all over the place as they lose a line out and it's kicked into space.

Ioane panics as the Irish shirts bear down on him, and the clearance doesn't make it out of the 22.

That is what Ireland have been missing all day. Going coast to coast, drawing tacklers and the handling is brilliant.

No idea how Stuart McCloskey got that basketball-style offload away and what a finish from Baloucoune. He still had a lot of work to do though and he did it so well.

Baloucoune, there is an electricity and dynamism when he gets the ball and that's what pace buys you.

Converted Try - Ireland 17-10 Italypublished at 58 mins

    Robert Baloucoune (con Crowley)

    What a try!

Ireland had worked numbers out wide and Cormac Izuchuwku is brought down.

Stuart McCloskey then fires it across to Robert Baloucoune NFL style, and he beats two men with a burst of pace and stretches out to score.

Crowley nailed the conversion and Ireland now have that buffer.

"It's not my fault it was a bad kick", you can hear Hollie Davidson say as Ireland questioned why play wasn't brought back from the knock on.

Manuel Zuliani is almost away but Rob Baloucoune brings him down.

Ireland kick away a knock on advantage and Ioane makes some big ground, but Louis Lynagh is pushed into touch.

That disallowed try has brought the crowd back into the game and they are roaring every Ireland pass forward.

Sam Prendergast sends a spiral into the air and Italy make a mess of the bouncing ball, but they eventually turn it back over.

Here's a stat which shows Ireland's defensive troubles.

When Ireland won the Six Nations title in 2024, they conceded seven tries in total across their five matches.

In a game and a bit in this year's tournament, they have conceded five - and it could have been more.
