This Italy side is full of confidence like nothing I have seen in recent years. Even though it's cold, the water is on as this game has been played at a furious pace.

Italy go for broke and it almost came off!

Paolo Garbisi dinks the ball into the 22 and Menoncello is one bounce of a ball away from a try under the posts.

Fine, fine margins.

There's a stoppage in play as Garry Ringrose gets his knee strapped up.

The clock is stopped but Italy are keen to get on with this.

Italy win the penalty and, at this point, Garbisi sends the ball into the 22.

Don't go anywhere, folks. This could be a grandstand finish.

Ireland's defensive resolve means Garbisi goes for the kick into the 22 and Baloucoune wins it, so Ireland can clear.

Ireland's scrum holds firm so Italy have to play it and Garbisi is chopped down.

It's sent into the air and Jamie Osborne makes a bit of a meal of it, so Italy have it back inside the Irish half.

We're into the final 10 minutes, by the way.

This second half has rattled by.

It takes two players to bring James Lowe and that creates a bit of space.

Jack Crowley races into it but he's clattered as he gets his pass away and it's forward.

Italy will have the scrum and that's been one-way traffic so far today.

Here comes Edwin Edogbo for his Ireland debut. There's a lot of hype surrounding the Munster second row.

Lovely from Jamison Gibson-Park, who spots some space in behind the Italian defence and he lands a lovely kick that bobbles into touch.

The bench have made a big impact, it's the speed and certainty Jack Crowley is playing with which allows Ireland to look more dangerous. The scrum is still their Achilles heel which they need to sort out.

Ireland have been unable to cope with the power at the Italian scrum all day.

Italy turned down a chance at the posts just before the break and couldn't make it count.
