    Hull KR 18-4 Brisbane

Some desperate defence from Brisbane as Hull KR ask them plenty of questions virtually straight from kick-off.

They get to within a metre of the line but Jez Litten is held up and the Broncos cheaply concede a set of six.

KR work it wide to Mikey Lewis but he's held up and they do their best to keep it alive but Tyrone May's kick on the last fails to be met.

So Hull KR have had an enforced reshuffle with Arthur Mourgue's injury.

Mikey Lewis has moved to full-back.

    Back under way.

The start to the first half was pretty frantic. Will the second half be the same?

Brisbane kick us off and need to kick on - and fast - if they are to avoid the third defeat in a row from an NRL side in a World Club Challenge fixture.

What a statement for Super League! The game in the UK is certainly making an impact on the world stage in 2026. Bittersweet so far from an FC fan, however!

What a first half we have just enjoyed.

The Robins are good for their 18 points, they've been determined, they've earned the right to play and they've asked the right questions.

The Broncos we've seen snippets of them - if they have the time and space you can't write them off yet.

Hull KR hold on right on the hooter!

Tom Davies puts a try-saving punt into touch before Brisbane can race onto it for what would have certainly been their second try of the evening!

The Robins have been brilliant from minute one. Tries from debutant Tom Amone, Elliott Minchella and Joe Burgess have put them in pole position at the break.

Gehamat Shibasaki reduced the deficit but Brisbane have looked well off the pace in the opening 40 minutes.

The dichotomy of Reece Walsh tonight, laid bare.

He races from his own half, weaves his way past player after player and evades tackles from Hull KR for fun. Stunning.

But when the Robins eventually do manage to get him to ground, he puts a wayward kick just beforehand which sails into the stand behind the posts.

    Hull KR 18-4 Brisbane

42% possession and five errors with a 73% completion rate for Brisbane so far.

That error-strewn opening 20 minutes or so has really harmed the Broncos.

The energy levels are through the roof from both sides.

Hull KR have looked so smooth and connected up until now.

    Hull KR 18-4 Brisbane

A reminder that this is Brisbane's first game since winning in the NRL Grand Final against the Melbourne Storm in October.

Whereas Hull KR have been in action in the Challenge Cup and Super League in 2026.

The pressure's eased on Hull KR somewhat as, in the aftermath of Jez Litten being penalised for a ball steal, Brisbane make an absolute meal of the restart.

Hull KR regain possession deep in their own half.

  13. NO TRYpublished at 32 mins

    Hull KR 18-4 Brisbane

No try, which in fairness was clear as day.

But Jez Litten's penalised for a ball steal. And to makes matters worse, Arthur Mourgue's clutching his shoulder as he's walked from the field.

    Is that his night over?

  14. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Hull KR 18-4 Brisbane

Tell you what, it's all Brisbane now. The game's certainly tipped somewhat in the past five minutes.

The Broncos are over the line again, but Jez Litten looks to have held Ezra Mam before he can ground the ball.

We're going upstairs for another look at it, though.

We said you can't count them out and they've just shown why.

We will have to see what Hull KR's mettle is like here.

This will be a new level of intensity.

    Gehamat Shibasaki

    Game on?

Sensational stuff from Brisbane who've finally come alive. On the last, Reece Walsh kicks to the corner.

Josiah Karapani keeps the ball in play superbly and dinks it to Gehamat Shibasaki who takes it across the line for the Broncos' first try.

Remember, though, it's a hostile atmosphere here. And Adam Reynolds misses his kick as such. 14 points in it, still.

    Hull KR 18-0 Brisbane

Who expected this? Especially off the back of Hull KR's performance against York last week and, frankly, Mikey Lewis's ill-discipline.

This isn't just Brisbane looking a bit rusty. This is Willie Peters wiping the floor with them. From minute one KR have looked incredible.

And nothing sums that up better than Arthur Mourgue playing out his skin, racing through a crowded Brisbane half before offloading and eventually winning a set of six.

It was quite simple for him to pick up and score.

    Joe Burgess, goal Rhyse Martin

    My word.

It all starts from that Reece Walsh error. Again.

Jez Litten take a bow, though. He's moments away from being tackled, isn't exactly pointed in prime position to make a kick, but makes it anyway when he's sidewards on goal.

And that kick bounces favourably to the corner as Joe Burgess dots down.

Rhyse Martin takes over the kicking duties and absolutely nails the kick from a tight angle.
