    Pegula 6-3 3-2 Kvitova*

It's all Jessica Pegula now as she holds her latest service game without too many issues.

This next game is crucial with Kvitova struggling to find her first serve in the second set.

    *Pegula 6-3 2-2 Kvitova

And Pegula now has an opportunity to hit back with a double break point as Kvitova slices a backhand into the net.

She gets it first time of asking as Kvitova goes long with a forehand.

    Pegula 6-3 1-2 Kvitova*

Kvitova has a chance to go a double-break up with the scores at 0-30 on Pegula's serve.

But the home crowd are really starting to get behind the American now who goes on a roll, winning the next few points to squeeze a hold.

Righto, our attention now turns to Arthur Ashe Stadium with American eighth seed Jessica Pegula taking on two-time Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic.

Pegula has taken a rain-delayed first set 6-3, but she's a break down in the second as Kvitova looks to build some momentum.

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-6 Rublev

Let's hear from Andrey Rublev now in his on-court interview:

    On a quick win?

"It was two and half hours, I don't think it was quick. Of course I was coming on court against Cameron, I need to keep my best and I think I played a good match.

"I think he was a bit tight, sometimes he helped me, and in the end I was able to win in three sets, so I am super happy."

How special to reach another quarter-final in New York?

"Thank you to all of you especially after lockdown and especially now to play in front of anyone. Thank you so much for supporting teens and each player.

Will he watch the match between Nadal and Tiafoe?

"I don't know. I was not thinking about it, but I mean if I have time I will try to watch it so I have to see how they play but just prepare for the match and that's it."

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-6 Rublev

There were 35 unforced errors from Cam Norrie, compared with just 17 from Andey Rublev.

He was nowhere near his best, in truth.

  7. 'Can't fault Rublev's effort'published at 18:43 BST 5 September 2022

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-6 Rublev

    Naomi Broady
British player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

You have to give Rublev a lot of credit. He was so aggressive and serving massive, really taking control of the point. You can't fault his effort.

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-6 Rublev

Rublev's face when he's reminded that he might get Rafa again is a picture.

Rublev played Nadal in the quarter-finals in 2017 and got, in the politest way possible, routed. Nadal went on to win the title.

  9. Postpublished at 18:40 BST 5 September 2022

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-6 Rublev

In a nice moment, Norrie gives his racquet to a young lad in the crowd before exiting the stadium.

Rublev will await either Rafa Nadal or Frances Tiafoe in the quarter-finals.

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-6 Rublev

    Andrey Rublev marches on!

The two share a nice handshake at the net.

In truth, Rublev was better than Norrie in every facet today, with the Brit just looking a little off-colour throughout.

That means there are no more Britons left in the singles draw.

Huge forehand, and it's three match points!

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-5 Rublev*

Oh, that could have been nasty!

Rublev comes to the net to smash away a winner and Norrie gets into a horrible tangle trying to fend it off. Rublev apologises, but there was no intent in that.

    30-0.

    *Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-4 Rublev

    Hmm.

Whatever wind Norrie found looks to have disappered, a double fault sending him 0-30 down before a forehand planted into the net hands Rublev three break points.

This is cooking now! Both players are steaming.

Norrie flinches as Rublev angrily cracks the ball into the net after the point is dead.

That could have ended much worse for the Russian, who has the ability to freak out at a moment's notice.

The crowd are here for it, too.

  20. Norrie holdspublished at 18:30 BST 5 September 2022

    *Norrie 4-6 4-6 4-4 Rublev

Now that is an emphatic hold to Rublev.

He whips down an ace and a couple of tasty forehand winners to hold to love and put the pressure back on Norrie.
