Swiatek v Pegula
Jessica Pegula is the highest-ranked player left in the draw other than world number one Swiatek.
She claimed a battling win of her own to advance to the quarter-finals, fighting back to beat Irina-Camelia Begu 4-6 6-2 6-3.
She has also reached the last eight of the women's doubles alongside singles semi-finalist Coco Gauff.

Nothing like a good beat to get you pumped for a big match, especially if you've got some decent audio kit.
Swiatek goes for the airpods, Pegula for over-the-head cans.
In those final few moments before wandering out onto court, Swiatek usually plays Led Zep, AC/DC, Pink Floyd and Pearl Jam.
"I have a playlist that is six songs and they are on repeat," she told me.
"I start listening them to the first match this season so when I go on Spotify and see my most frequent songs it is always the match playlist.
"It's always rock'n'roll. It really pumps me up."
Swiatek v Pegula
Iga Swiatek credited singing a bit of Dua Lipa with her turnaround in fortunes against Jessie Pegula.
"I was singing in my mind," said Swiatek.
"I realised in the first set when I was really focusing on that technical stuff it didn't really work.
"I got more and more tense when I couldn't do that and I couldn't really prepare to the shot the best way.
"It was Dua Lipa, so kind of a guilty pleasure."

Swiatek v Pegula
In fact, Iga discussed her birthday in her BBC Sport column a few days ago.
She said: "It is always pretty hard to celebrate when you are in the middle of the tournament, but I hope I'm going to have time on my day off to do something.
"I never plan things for my own birthday - it's not like I'm going to throw a party in the locker room!
"I just hope I will get a proper rest after practice. But I heard my team have prepared something fun for me - so we will see."

Iga Swiatek celebrated her 21st birthday yesterday and, unlike most people that age, planned a very quiet one.
Practice in the morning on an outdoor court at Roland Garros, watching her idol Rafa Nadal play Novak Djokovic in the evening.
Sure the 1:15am finish would have been way past her bedtime.
In-between, there was some sort of surprise being planned by her team who insisted such a special landmark birthday could not pass without something special happening.
Sure we will find out later what it was.
Swiatek v Pegula
Jessie Pegula has had two big breakthroughs at the Australian Open in the past two years.
She reached her first Grand Slam quarter-final in Melbourne last year, beating Victoria Azarenka and Elina Svitolina on the way, before losing to eventual runner-up Jennifer Brady.
She reached the same stage at this year's event at Melbourne Park, where she was beaten by the unstoppable Ash Barty.
Since then, she has broken into the top 10 in the world rankings and won her first WTA 1,000 title in Doha.

Hewett, a three-time French Open champion, beat Dutchman Tom Egberink 6-1 6-2.
He'll face Argentine third seed Gustavo Fernandez next for a spot in the final.

Swiatek v Pegula
Win number 32 wasn't the easiest for Iga Swiatek.
Swiatek dropped her first set in 10 matches against 19-year-old Zheng Qinwen, the teenager who beat former champion Simona Halep in the second round.
Swiatek was able to fight back as Zheng became increasingly hampered by a thigh injury, with the Pole ultimately winning 6-7 (5-7) 6-0 6-2.

Daria Kasatkina will play either world number one Iga Swiatek or Jessica Pegula next.
That match gets under way very shortly.
Kudermetova 4-6 6-7 (5-7) Kasatkina
French Open semi-finalist Daria Kasatkina, speaking on court: "You could see that the match was really nervous and tight, especially the tie-break.
"The last few points were super tight. I'm happy at the end that I won. I'm happy to be in the semis for the first time.
Speaking to her coach: "My box were pretty nervous I guess, especially at the end. I love them so much and I want to spend a little bit more time with them. Thank you guys and keep calm - it's OK!"

Well hats off to Kasatkina to get through that last point. I'm not sure how she did it. We could all feel the tension going through her body.
A lovely touch got her across the line. You could almost feel the blood drain out of her as she got that last point. I think she must feel a little weak right now.
Kudermetova 4-6 6-7 (5-7) Kasatkina
Daria Kasatkina does it!
After an incredible rally, both players pushing the other, Kasatkina spins over a drop shot and then drops to her knees in disbelief.
She's through to a Grand Slam semi-final for the first time.
*Kudermetova 4-6 6-6 (5-6) Kasatkina
Kasatkina's coach stares up to the heavens and shakes his head as another shot drifts out.
One match point left.
Kudermetova 4-6 6-6 (4-6) Kasatkina*
Kasatkina faltered when she served for the match earlier in this set.
She looks up at her coach, annoyed, as she drifts a backhand long.
Three match points gone. Two left.
Kudermetova 4-6 6-6 (3-6) Kasatkina*
Oh! What a shot!
Down the line goes Kudermetova with a winner, and it's down to Kasatkina to serve this one out.
*Kudermetova 4-6 6-6 (2-6) Kasatkina
An ace from Kudermetova saves the first match point.
*Kudermetova 4-6 6-6 (1-6) Kasatkina
Kudermetova finally gets on the board as Kasatkina drifts a backhand long.
A quick change of ends before a missed forehand from Kudermetova gifts Kasatkina five match points.
