It feels like hard work for Swiatek but I think it is because how's she's played over the past months.
She has such high standards and some of the matches we have seen her play have been jaw-droppingly good.

The scoreline makes this match look a lot more straightforward than it actually has been for Iga Swiatek.
She's managed to find an answer, however, for the most part.

Much more like it from Iga Swiatek.
She cracks an ace out wide to wrap up a love hold.

Deuce.
Swiatek 6-3 2-1 Pegula*
Jessica Pegula has produced some brilliant defensive shots today, forcing the extra shot and often the extra error out of Iga Swiatek.
Every so often the American just overhits, almost trying to outmuscle Swiatek, and Swiatek is so quick on her feet. She moves forward to the net, leaps and smashes home a winner to earn herself break point.

Everytime Swiatek misses shots she is just annoyed. She is used to very high standards and things going her way. Things are getting a little more edgy in this Grand Slam.

Jessica Pegula gets a look at an Iga Swiatek second serve and hammers it long. She's not amused.
A belter of a return from Pegula, though, takes us back to deuce.
*Swiatek 6-3 1-1 Pegula
There's a look of frustration from Jessica Pegula, eyes closed and head thrown back, as she latches onto a second serve from Iga Swiatek and angles it just long.
There's a slight worry for Swiatek at 15-30 before Pegula overhits back-to-back shots to hand the Pole game point.
That's better from Pegula, sticking in the rally with Swiatek, and she forces deuce. She's still not happy with herself, though.

I just feel Pegula needs something to happen here. What can she do to get under Swiatek's skin again?
She is just chipping away at the moment at Swiatek.
*Swiatek 6-3 1-1 Pegula
Jessica Pegula needs to put those frustrations to the back of her mind and start this second set well.
A beauty of a backhand gets the American to 40-30 before Swiatek lifts a forehand long.

You may have heard about a lot about Jessica Pegula's back story.
The 28-year-old American is the daughter of the owners of NFL franchise the Buffalo Bills and is the heir to her parents' £4.5bn fortune.
Unsurprisingly, the unassuming 11th seed prefers to let her tennis do the talking rather than discuss her background.
The Bills don't have much success on the football field but they do have a loyal fanbase.
Pegula will be receiving their support today, despite the early morning start back home, and especially as a preview of this match leads the Bills' website.

You just feel that now with that first set under her belt, Swiatek will calm down and play a bit freer.
I don't think Pegula realises just how well she played.
Swiatek 6-3 1-0 Pegula*
You are, of course, meant to play to the server's speed, and Swiatek did hold Pegula up a couple of times with walking back and forth for the towel. Pegula might also be a little aggrieved about the double bounce that handed over the decisive break not being called by the umpire.
The world number one whizzes through her own service game to get the second set under way.
